3. LOCATION - LONDON
We decided to theme base our video in London to give a more patriotic theme
to the music video’s. In most featured indie/pop band that are based in America
tends to preview known monuments/areas/ items (e.g. american flag)and we
wanted to do the same so that we can adapt more to the conventions of a indie pop
bands such as two door cinema club, funeral party, Coldplay and so forth. We
decided to base our recording in London in area’s such as Piccadilly, Leicester
square, Covent garden, china town, Southbank but some parts of our recording is
done at harrow college and mainly based in the green screen room.
5. PICCADILLY CIRCUS
We decided that Piccadilly would be more of a extra scene added
and we took the advantage of recording day and night as the city is lit
up and this would be more recognisable and engaging to the audience,
those especially based in London as it is not just a tourist spot but to
our target audience (teenagers/young adults) this is also one of the
main sub-attractions for our target audience but we decided to record
the most popular attraction.
7. CHINA TOWN
China town is a very well known attraction for our target audience,
as china town is home to authentic restaurants and souvenirs but is
also a well known area for our target audience as it right next
totrocadero which is a popular and well known area for their arcade
which we knew would become a recognisable spot for target
audience to associate more to the video.
9. SOUTHBANK
Southbank was apart of out original idea’s for filming, as you can
tell from the image Before that this area actually target sub
genre/social group of what we associate for out target audience
which tends to be used as a convention in most indie rock/pop
culture, the social group of “Skaters” tends to appear in quite a few
music video and we wanted that representation in our work as well,
e.g. Funeral party/neck deep.
11. WEMBLEY PARK
Wembley park wasn’t originally a main area we were going to film
but we had it in mind for recording as it is a convenient area that's
next to the stadium, arena and due to the construction and finished
new Fashion outlet that was conveniently area. we noticed that its had
become a tourist spot as well and realised that more of our target
audience visited this area so we decided to take advantage of the
moment and film there.
