SUMMARY 25 years of experience in requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and
integration of embedded real-time avionics software for the aircraft & spacecraft.
EXPERIENCE
Boeing (2002 – Present) – Long Beach, CA
Embedded Software Engineer - Avionics Software Development (2010 - Present)
Contract Engineer - Avionics Software Development (2002 - 2010)
Responsible for design, coding, testing and integration of the embedded real-time
software for C-17 Mission Computer Operational Flight Program. The software is
developed in Ada83 on the SUN/UNIX, using the Green Hills AdaMULTI, for 32 bit MIPS
R4400PC RISC processor & Ada95 on the SUN/UNIX, using the Green Hills
INTEGRITY, for 32 bit PPC7457 processor. Worked on the Communication (MIL-STD-
1553 & ARINC 429 bus interface), Datalink (Air Traffic Services – ARINC 619, ARINC
622, ARINC 623, ARINC 702, RTCA/DO-212 & RTCA/DO-219 standards) and Flight
Management Systems functions of the OFP.
Performed as a technical lead engineer for various C-17 Block upgrade projects.
Resolved issues involving multiple groups (systems, lab, software & test) to complete
the projects on schedule. Provide root cause analysis & solutions to the problems from
the flight tests and the fields.
Lockheed Martin (2000 – 2002) – Sunnyvale, CA
Contract Engineer - Avionics Software Development
Responsible for design (UML),coding, testing and integration of the Object Oriented
embedded real-time software for an R&D project (reusable Flight Software for satellites).
The software is developed in Ada 95 on the SUN/UNIX, using the Rational Apex, for 32
bit MIPS RH32 processor. Worked on the Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C)
function of the flight software.
United Defense (1999 – 2000) – Minneapolis, MN
Contract Engineer - Software Integration
Responsible for the integration of the Object Oriented embedded real-time software (Ada
95) for the Crusader project. Responsibilities include development of the software builds
for the host (Sun) & target (Power PC), integration of the software in the distributed
system environment and development of the prototype software using the Rational tools
(Apex & Rose) based on the client/server design patterns (such as publisher, subscriber
and proxy) and testing utility software.
TRW (1997 - 1999) - Redondo Beach, CA
Staff Engineer - Avionics Software Development
Flight Software for the Earth Observing System PM-1 project. Performed as the
technical leader for the Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C), Electrical Power
Control and Thermal Control software. The software is developed in Ada 83 on the
SUN/UNIX for 1750A processor (4 processors environment). Responsibilities included
systems requirements analysis, software requirements development and design /
development / testing / integration of embedded real-time avionics software.
2. McDonnell Douglas (1989 - 1996)
Senior Engineer - Avionics Software Development (1991 - 1996) – Long Beach, CA
Mission Computer Operational Flight Program for the C-17 project. Responsibilities
include design, development, testing, and integration of embedded real-time avionics
software. Software developments included JOVIAL on the VAX/VMS for 1740A
multiprocessing target computer and Ada 83 on the SUN/UNIX for R4400PC Processor.
Worked on Vertical Profile (aircraft flight path prediction for pilot planning and auto-pilot
flight) and C-17 Mission Functions (Airdrop and Rendezvous) software.
Engineer - Avionics Software Development (1989 - 1991) – St. Louis, MO
Central Computer Operational Flight Program for F-15 project. Responsibilities include
design, development, testing, and integration of embedded real-time avionics software.
The software was developed in AP-1R assembly on the IBM VM/SP for AP-1R target
computer and tested with HARRIS system. Worked on Controls & Displays software.
