Shaw Pipeline services (SPS)
AUT Scanner Technician (July 2015 – May 2016)
Currently signed to Shaw Pipeline Services in the position of Scanner Technician and have been
awaiting upcoming projects since July, unfortunately due to the low value of oil in the current
climate these projects have be shelved for the foreseeable future.
During this time I have been working as a restaurant manager, taking on all responsibilities of
running the business as the owner often leaves the country.
Applus RTD NDT Technician, April 2015 - May 2015
Working on the shutdown period of the Ineos Nitriles plant at Seal Sands. Assisting with the
operation of the AUT P scanner in all operations (setup, operation, removal). Conducting thickness
testing of in service pipe-works and storage vessels with UT and testing for surface breaking
cracks with MPI testing. Also observed dye penetrant work being conducted in the close vicinity,
giving me a basic idea of the process.
