TC5 or CONTROL – CHAIR ?
The Nautilus Control-Chair that the operator used to remotely control his machine was
beautiful, comfortable and popular. However, it was also large, heavy, bolted to the floor
and very expensive.
This heavy Chair cannot be taken underground to test and trouble-shoot the machine and it
can’t be easily moved to a different location. In fact there’s a lot it can’t do.
Our TC5 plus a luxurious office chair for the operator makes him extremely powerful, very
comfortable, completely safe and it has none of the heavy Chair’s problems.
The TC5 AGS System is powerful for many reasons, one of them is: in a few seconds the
operator can use his TC5 to select and operate any type of machine in the mine.
The TC5 has another advantage, it has optional Proximity Detection to protect the TC5
operator when he’s underground testing and close to his remotely controlled machine.

For Loaders, Rock-Breakers, Block-Holers
etc…
Nautilus, we’ve been working on
Automation since 1998
Nautilus has been developing their AGS system for loaders for a long time. The
first semi-automated AGS design started in 1998 and by 2000, we had completed
the design and manufactured ‘Lucy’ our in-house loader which is used to test all of
our Radio, Teleremote and Autonomous Guidance Systems.
Lucy is very small, 1/5th the size of an R2900 CAT loader but she’s fitted with a full
size AGS system. For almost 18 years, Nautilus has used Lucy and our indoor
mine to simplify, improve, miniaturize and test all types of systems.
Our indoor mine has three fully equipped Control Rooms with more than 25
Drawpoints and multiple Ore-Passes.
Our customers’ electricians, tech’s and operators come here to our factory indoor
mine for full hands-on training without being exposed to any danger.

Cutting or shorting the camera cable will
not damage the camera or the Video-Tx

Please note that a comfortable chair, desk, computer, TV, mouse and keyboard will
be supplied by the customer because they can buy these items from their local
stores with no mark-up from Nautilus.
Behind the desk, the power cords from the computer and TV plug into 110vac wall
sockets and an HDMI cable connects the computer to the TV.
There’s nothing else behind the desk except an Ethernet cable connecting the
computer to the rest of the mine.
The only items the customer needs from Nautilus are the TC5 radio control and
two usb sticks that plug into the back of the customer’s computer.
Therefore the installation (plugging in the 2 usb sticks) will take about 8 seconds
and then this u/g Control-Room will be ready to operate in Autonomous, Pilot or
Teleremote mode.

What are the best features of the Nautilus AGS system?
It’s simple and easy to understand.
The equipment is small, rugged and very reliable.
Any mine electrician can easily maintain this system.
The loader equipment can be installed in about 6 hours.
The tunnel equipment is small, rugged and short-circuit proof.
The map used to guide the AGS system can be updated in a few minutes.
How good is AGS with very big loaders ?
Our AGS systems have operated the biggest loaders in the world. The R3000 loaders
at Goldcorp’s Eleonore mine used oversize 15 cubic yard buckets and Sandvik’s huge
LH621 loaders at Prominent Hill, Australia were also fitted with the largest buckets
available and trammed in very tight tunnels.
How good is AGS with small, difficult loaders?
In 2011 Newmont’s Midas Mine in the USA purchased four very small Sandvik LH204
loaders with almost zero space for AGS equipment. These loaders use Parker’s IQAN
Canbus system which was quite difficult to interface with. Nautilus solved this problem
and our AGS systems worked really well with these loaders.

Why would you want a Nautilus AGS System?
AGS will run your loaders faster and more efficiently.
AGS will prevent your loaders from hitting walls and being damaged.
Production will improve because your loaders won’t be out of service as often.
Your loaders can be operated from a small room on the surface or anywhere in the mine.
Why use a surface control room?
AGS can operate between shifts.
AGS can operate just before blasting and almost immediately after blasting.
AGS operators don’t waste time and money going to & from the u/g to get ready to work.
How does Nautilus compare to the competition?
Our installation is the fastest
Nautilus has the best Wi-Fi videos
Nautilus AGS systems have a lot less equipment
Nautilus AGS works better than our competitors’ systems.
The training required to use our AGS system takes only a few hours.
