Organization founded to create a safer, healthier community through prevention.
Lifeline Coordinator 2013 to Present
Serve as the liaison to the State for programmatic information and communications related to the project.
Responsible for assessing the need for and supporting the establishment of evidenced based addiction and
recovery programs in Northeast Region (Carter, Green, Hawkins, Hancock, Johnson, Sullivan, Washington
and Unicoi counties) such as AA / NA. Provide outreach and awareness raising opportunities to increase
understanding of the disease of addiction and support for recovery strategies in the region.
Key Results:
o Conducted needs assessment for the 8 counties of Region 1
o Developed relationships with the Health Councils and Drug Coalitions within Region 1
o Helped establish new recovery meetings within Region 1
o Provided education about the disease of addiction and the need to reduce stigma through community
events and the Health Councils within Region 1
o Completed 40 hour Certified Peer Recovery Specialist training course
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist 2014 to Present
Provide support to others with mental illness, substance abuse or co-occurring disorders and help them
achieve their personal recovery goals by promoting self-determination, personal responsibility, and the
empowerment inherent in self-directed recovery.

on his or her own

officers, other public safety personnel, and their families
Critical Stress Debriefer / Peer Counselor 2005 to Present
Responsible for coordinating debriefings/counseling for local law enforcement involved in critical stress
situations for East Tennessee. Provided peer counseling and continued support for officers during and after
debriefings

o Attended 21 hours of intense critical incident stress counseling training
o Served as lead counselor on numerous debriefings during tenure.
o Successfully recruited other members to the debriefing team
o Provided in-service training for officers on the management and detection for self and others of
critical incident stress
o Numerous letters of accomodation from other departments in the region
LAW ENFORCEMENT — Johnson City, TN 1997-2013
Served over 16 years in various capacities in law enforcement including, patrol, criminal investigation, training
and SWAT.
Also served number of years as a law enforcement instructor as adjunct faculty / lead instructor for Walters
State Community College Regional Law Enforcement Academy and as lead instructor with Holston International
Training and Consulting.
