RE: MacKenzie Allman, Letter of Recommendation
To Whom It May Concern:
Please allow me to offer this letter of recommendation on behalf of MacKenzie Allman. I have
been employed in the medical device industry for a variety of startup companies over the past
fifteen years. MacKenzie took the initiative to network through a variety of contacts to identify a
physician, who in turn was able to locate an internship opportunity in this field, which is how we
came to work together.
This exhibition of resourcefulness is the first thing that sets MacKenzie apart. Through this trait
and her own persistence and tenacity, she was able to shape the opportunity to achieve her
goals. Realizing the medical device industry is quite competitive and often difficult to break into,
MacKenzie set her sights on gaining valuable experience in the field, which demonstrates her
continuing desire to grow and improve personally and professionally to reach the top of her
chosen field.
Over the three month period, MacKenzie gained increasing responsibility in all facets of the
industry, gaining an understanding of the profession from clinical to sales to marketing. As she
gained experience, she again demonstrated her penchant for evolving in a given circumstance
and began to take more initiative. Not satisfied with simply completing a task, she also was
diligent in requesting feedback in order to continue this evolution. During this time, she began to
offer a fresh perspective and creative approaches to situations.
In summary, the thing that impresses me the most about MacKenzie is her constant desire to
seek new challenges, hone skills and develop a resourceful network of colleagues in order to
learn and grow. She somehow manages to turn negative events into positive learning
experiences and never makes the same mistake twice. She also never gives up and appreciates
positive criticism that can only make her grow in the long run.
It is my belief that MacKenzie, having gained a greater understanding of the medical field, is well
on her way to achieving the next steps in her professional progression. I am confident she will be
an asset to any organization to which she chooses to devote her time and talents.
