SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and a Licensed Professional
Counselor in West Virginia and Texas. I am also certified to supervise provisional licensed
professional counselors in Maryland and in West Virginia. My experience includes 15 years
as a counselor including 10 months as a clinical supervisor. I have led groups for intensive
outpatient programs, relapse prevention, managed medication and co-occurring
populations, as well as maintaining a caseload of individuals, couples, and families. I have
coordinated services with psychiatrists, doctors, other mental health providers, inpatient
facilities, residential facilities, Veterans Administration, and hospital behavioral health
programs in order to provide integrated care for clients.
In addition to counseling adults and adolescents with mental health and/or substance abuse
disorders, I have provided consultation and therapeutic services as a member of the
Frederick County Drug Treatment Court (DTC) in Maryland, and also assessed DTC
participants for level of care placement, developed treatment plans, and provided individual
and group counseling.

As a member of the Local Care Team in Frederick, Maryland, I provided consultation and
support to families of adolescents in need of residential care. I have also provided direct
services to members of Way Station, Inc., a Sheppard Pratt mental health residential
treatment facility in Frederick, where clients receive treatment for severe mental health
disorders, along with moderate to severe substance abuse disorders. As a member of the
Dual Recovery Program (DRP) at Way Station, I also served as a consultant to the team on
a weekly basis supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of DRP clients.
Clinical Supervisor Duties:
Prepares a training plan for each counselor; complies with State/Federal or
Certification/Licensure training requirements.
Supervises counselors to assure timely completion of work and adherence to
program policies and procedures.
Provides weekly clinical supervision through documentation of assessment of
professional competencies, clinical skills, and recommendations through meetings
and periodic observation.
Provides new hire orientation for counselors and therapists.
Assigns emergency on call rotation and participates as needed.
Assists with answering agency phones and handles intake and inquiry calls.
Assists in supervision of public areas and parking lot.
Performs other duties as requested by the Clinic Director.
Facilitates Quality Improvement Committee.
Maintains payroll on supervised counselors and therapists.
Maintains a reduced caseload.
Therapist Duties:
Assures incoming patients have a complete biopsychosocial assessment and
interpretive summary.
Completes, with team participation, a preliminary treatment plan.
Prepares, with team and patient participation, a comprehensive treatment plan.
Completes peer reviews and quarterly case consultations.
Completes a treatment plan review and update for each patient.
Prepares an aftercare plan for all patients completing the program or being
discharged for other reasons.
Follows up with each discharged patient
Provides individual and group addiction counseling.
Assesses for and treats adults in an intensive outpatient program using individual,
group, and family treatment modalities.
Consultant Duties:
Attends weekly/monthly team meetings.
Summarizes patient progress, identifies patient needs, formulate treatment plans.
Provides clinical information related to mental health and/or substance abuse
disorders.
Provides agency/facility policy and procedure practices to the individual and families
in the local community.
Works hand in hand with local providers serving adults and adolescents in need of
behavioral health services.
