The University of Toledo Undergoes Administration Change
Dr. Lloyd Jacobs steps down from the role of President at The University of Toledo.

TOLEDO, Ohio – In March 2013 University of Toledo (UT) President Dr. Lloyd Jacobs
announced that he would be stepping down effective June 30, 2014. Dr. Jacobs decision to leave
UT came after accepting a role as Distinguished Fellow with the Council of Competitiveness in
Washington, DC.
As the search for the university’s next presidents is underway, the Board of Trustees has
appointed Dr. Naganathan as Interim President until a selection is made for 17th president of the
university.
Dr.Naganathan has served UT for 28 years; he has been dean of the College of Engineering since
2003. Dr. Naganathan took office on July 14, 2014. His first week in office consisted of meetings
and getting familiar with what exactly it was he would be working on as his role of interim
president. “I am happy to have been selected for this position; it is my duty to continue to bring
great outstanding performance to UT.” Said Dr.Naganathan
Around campus, the word is quickly spreading about the new changes being made at the
university, the administration change impacts both current students and alumnus, “I’m very
pleased with the pick of the interim president that the Board of Trustees has made to continue the
success of Dr. Jacobs. UT was a great school during my 5-year experience there. I’m a very
involved alumnus.” Said UT Alumni ‘11 Dan Jones
Dr.Naganathan expressed the importance of bringing new improvements to the campus and as
well as becoming well known around the world “I believe it’s very important to be able to
compete at a national level.”
It is not known how long Dr. Naganathan will be in office, but he is capable of making full
decisions and completing duties as if he was president. The University of Toledo is excited to be
under the leadership of Dr. Naganathan.
