Their practice will be dealing with a complete range of pediatric care including out-patient medical procedures. Although the atmosphere should be professional and businesslike, the primary concern in terms of ambiance is to create a relaxed atmosphere throughout to minimize the typical anxiety that most people, parents and children experience.

Their practice will be dealing with a complete range of pediatric care including out-patient medical procedures. Although the atmosphere should be professional and business like, the primary concern in terms of ambience is to create a relaxed atmosphere through out to minimize the typical anxiety that most people, parents and children experience. Special Requirements 1. They would like to combine the receptionist, nurses station and business office It should include a triage area for nurses and physicians to update charts make phone calls, etc. consequently, that station must be centrally and uniquely situated to perform all functions. 2. The exam rooms and the consulting offices must have acoustic privacy. 3. There should be a secondary entrance/exit for staff and for laboratory pick-up, deliveries, etc. that does not require going through the reception/waiting area 4. All patient areas shall be barrier-free in concept and dimension.

Requirements  Reception/Business Office/Nurses Station  The reception station is the hub of activity, with all patients checking in there upon arrival and making or arranging for payment before leaving.  A semi-private triage area should be adjacent to reception  Waiting Area  Seating for 5 adults and 3 “children”  Magazine rack or display  Approx. 60 sq.ft. for children’s play area  Prefer “non-traditional” layout  Work Room  Standing “multifunctional” copier  Storage closet or cabinet, min. 18 lin. Ft. of 12” deep shelves and min 18 lin. ft. of 18” deep shelves  Coat Closet, 3 lin. Ft. Hanging rod and shelf  Worktable, 10 – 12 sq.ft.  Coffee Station, refrigerator  Exam Rooms (2)  85-90 sq.ft with a min. dimension of 8’0”  Comfortable access for patients and staff is the first priority  Lavatory in each room  Nursing staff has mobile laptop stand with blood pressure equipment for use in exam/procedure rooms  Patient ‘weigh-in’ alcove  2 guest chairs  Procedure room  Consulting Office  Comfortable spaces for taking patients and parents, as well as private desk. The atmosphere should be informal, even residential in ambience.  Seating for 4  Physician Charting Area: flat screen Monitor, keyboard and phone
