10. Turning points…
• Is there something about the Southwest that
I see differently or understand more clearly
now than before I came?
• Can I tie this change/insight to any particular
interaction during my time here?
•What about that event shaped my change/
insight?
12. Day 4 Integration
1. Consider what is present and what is not
present and ask why.
2. Look through the eyes of another to create
greater awareness of your own “lens.”
3. Find “comfort” in discomfort. Accept that
confusion can be productive.
4. Move from “self-reflection” into “critical
thinking” -- this transition is vital!
13. Integration
5. Connect your personal experience to the
insights of scholars.
6. Question the prevailing power structure and
the “production” of knowledge – who has
power? Who decides?
7. Look for connections to the world
community -- think globally about your
experience.
8. Ask how you know what you know.
