Determine feasibility of securing delinquent accounts using state,federal, local
rules, and procedures. Interviewing individuals to locate individual entities by
contacting other county departments,outside agencies, employers, neighbors,or
relatives by phone,letters, or directories. Using tax rolls, parcel maps, and legal
registers to locate debtor’s assets and determine individual’s ability to pay debt. .
Arrange settlement of account by explaining applicable laws and personal
responsibility to clients and their representatives.Evaluate financial statements
regarding debtor’s income, assets,an employment history to determine if a
payment plan should be arranged or enforced by civil action.
Preparation of abstracts,writs of execution, orders of examination, and court
affidavits. Present small claims actions in court to secure judgment of
delinquent accounts. Instruct clerical staff assisting in preparation of above forms.
Prepare various correspondence,forms, and notices for welfare agencies,attorneys,
insurance companies, and employers regarding collection of unpaid accounts.
Calculate interest and posting actions or adjustments to delinquent accounts using
procedural and account worksheets.
