DIPLOMA IN
MANUFACTURING
MANAGEMENT
Fostering Management Talent
in Ireland’s Food Sector
September 2014 - June 2015
Enterprise Ireland is partnering with University
College Cork to offer a modular 1 year Diploma
in Manufacturing Management Programme to
its Food Sector client companies.
Diploma in Manufacturing Management 2
This programme is designed to address the development needs of
employees who have future potential at middle management or senior
management level. The content is designed to focus on the areas where
managers need practical support to enhance their personal effectiveness
and will provide an essential grounding in the fundamentals of
management in today’s food manufacturing environment.
PROGRAMME
CONTRIBUTORS
Programme tutors and
presenters will be drawn
from a panel of top quality
practitioners in the business,
academic and consultancy
fields.
MODULE DELIVERY
The programme design
facilitates individuals who wish
to study on a part-time basis
and integrate their studies
with their careers, as well as
incorporate their working
experience into an accredited
learning process. There will be
10 two-day residential modules,
based at various locations
nationally to accommodate the
national spread of participating
companies. Modules 6 & 7
includes study tours to relevant
companies.
During the programme
participants will be supported
by a company sponsor who
will focus on company project
implementation. Commitment
at Senior Management Level
is needed to ensure successful
implementation results.
WHO SHOULD
ATTEND?
–	Recently promoted as well
as experienced managers
seeking to enhance their
business acumen and personal
effectiveness.

as managers.
–	Graduates of disciplines
such as agricultural science,
food science, engineering,
accounting and finance who
have no previous management
development education/
training.
Participants will have a common
requirement to understand the

within a food manufacturing
environment and will be capable
of quickly utilising new skills
and knowledge to achieve
quantifiable results for the
company’s business. Many will
operate in functional specialist
roles which increasingly require
them to manage people. This
will necessitate the development
of broader skills within the food
manufacturing environment to
enable them to make informed
management decisions.
PROGRAMME
BENEFITS
–	Applied learning at the
workplace that enables the
participant to keep abreast
of changing industry trends
in the area of strategic and
