BENEFICIARIES
Your Beneficiaries are those who you wish
to receive benefits, capital or income from
your Assets after your death.

A well written Will ensures your Estate is
distributed impartially and objectively -
avoiding any potential tension amongst
family members.
SIGNING CEREMONY & STORAGE
We provide Independent Witnesses who
identify you, witness your signature and sign
in your presence to ensure it is Valid and
Incontestable.
 SCI register your Will with the Master of
the Court, where it is stored for ultimate
safe keeping. You receive Court certified
copies for reference and storage
Your Will should be updated on important
events - the birth of a child, marriage, divorce,
death of a beneficiary or the acquisition of
new property or business interests.

law, and are paid by your Estate. Their duty is

TAX PLANNING
On death, the Government will seek to tax your
assets in several ways.
Botswana’s main ‘death duty’ is Capital Transfer Tax
- levied at 5% on amounts over P500,000.
Foreign governments may also tax overseas assets
on death – and may want to see a valid Will before
transfer is permitted.
 It is vital to have a plan to pay Taxes without
having to sell the assets that your
beneficiaries need the most
