Majority of the industries generate wastewater with high salinity. Conventional ‘Physico-chemical-biological’ treatment does not remove salinity. Reverse Osmosis is limited with salt concentration in the feed water due to osmotic strength. Conventional distillation methods are popular for brine treatment and zero liquid discharge (ZLD). However, the conventional distillation units are complex in nature, it occupies more space, consume more energy and requires high capital investment (especially for smaller capacity – 1 to 100m3/day where the capital cost of the conventional thermal systems are around 50k USD to 10k USD/m3). The TS-30™ system is based on a novel thermal membrane process that can be operated using low-grade waste heat (60 deg C to 85 deg C) or solar energy. It requires around 30-40% lower CapEx and up to 50% lower OpEx for small scale (1 to 100m3/day) zero liquid discharge systems when compared to the current state of the art evaporators. The highly scalable modular design helps our customers with easy installation, operation and maintenance.

ABOUT MEMSIFT
3. Majority of the industries including Power Plants, Pharma, Tanneries,
Pulp & Paper, Textile, Chemicals, Food etc generate wastewater with
high salinity. Conventional ‘physico-chemical-biological’ treatment
does not remove salinity in the treated effluent. Discharge of saline
wastewater further pollutes ground and surface water resources. Use of
ZLD and water recycling will reduce the intake of the fresh water
supply, thus, lowering the cost, increasing the water efficiency and
minimizing the environmental impact. TS-30 system is based on a
patent pending thermal membrane process for brine treatment and ZLD.
The novel TS-30 systems can be operated using low-grade waste heat or
solar energy. The highly scalable modular design helps our customers
with easy installation, operation and maintenance.

4. A highly hydrophobic hollow fiber membrane
with unique surface chemistry for vapor and
steam transportation. For efficient thermal
membrane separation and membrane
distillation (MD) process, the membrane
should ideally exhibit several optimum
characteristics in terms of membrane
thickness, membrane porosity, membrane
pore size, chemical and thermal stability,
membrane surface chemistry
(hydrophobicity) and high liquid entry
pressure (LEP). Memsift developed a highly
hydrophobic hollow fiber membrane with
unique surface chemistry for vapor and
steam transportation called STOMATE™

5. Memsift’s TS-30 modules are designed and developed based
on an innovative thermal membrane process. The TS-30
module consist of our proprietary highly hydrophobic hollow
fiber membrane STOMATE. The module housing is made up of
thermoplastics. Memsift has developed membrane modules in
various sizes from 1” to all the way 8” diameter. The TS-30
module has designed to achieve up to 30 liters of permeate
flow per square meter of membrane area at 80 deg C. The
TS-30 module can be applied for Membrane Distillation and
Pervaporation.

6. GRAVITY is a new generation crystallizer that works in the principle of gravitational force/centrifugal force
and temperature difference. It requires very low energy consumption (at least 50% energy reduction) compared
to the current state of the art crystallizers. The unit is made up of thermoplastics that eliminate corrosion
issues while handling the concentrated brine. The simple and modular design helps for easy installation,
operation and maintenance. The concentrated brine from the TS-30 system will be channeled to the crystallizer
to achieve zero liquid discharge.
