MUST KNOW TRAVEL TIPS DURING COVID-19. >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB
1. Find out what the COVID-19 rate is in your region.
Traveling while the novel coronavirus is still widely circulating carries some risk, regardless
of where you're going or how many precautions you take. COVID-19 concentrations are
hitting new highs in the United States, which means your population is likely to have more
circulating virus than it was this summer.
There are many reasons to be aware of the infection rate in your region. According to Dr.
Glatt, a spokesperson for the Infectious Diseases Society of America, if you choose to fly by
plane from a region where COVID-19 cases are common, the chances of a passenger near
you contracting the disease would be higher, increasing the infection risk. You're much more
likely to infect any relatives you want to meet in this situation.
Furthermore, some states, such as Connecticut, are imposing a 14-day quarantine on visitors
from non-contiguous states with high infection rates unless they can provide evidence of a
negative PCR test (the most reliable type of coronavirus test) performed within the previous
72 hours.
If you're supposed to quarantine, you'll need to plan ahead of time, such as taking any food
you'll need because you won't be able to go shopping.

2. Examine COVID-19 Rates in Your Travel Destination.
It's also crucial to keep track of the infection rate at your destination. If you're going to a
place where COVID-19 is spreading like wildfire, the chances of getting sick are higher.
And, with certain hospitals already at peak, there's a risk you won't be able to get the
treatment you need if you get sick.
The test positivity rate (a primary indicator of virus circulation levels) for a given region can
be found on the website of the local public health department. Alternatively, go to the Brown
School of Public Health's expansive website Global Epidemics and look for the color-coded
risk level (which is curiously delineated by congressional district rather than county).
Check the State Department website for information on virus rates and whether Americans
are prohibited from entering those countries, as they are in many European countries.
3. Consider Your (and Your host's) health.
One important consideration is how dangerous traveling will be for you. “With COVID-19,
everything has to be tailored to the user. “You have to look at it from your own point of
view,” Glatt says.
Are you or someone you're traveling with at high risk of contracting COVID-19? According
to the CDC, people over the age of 65 and those with chronic conditions such as type 2
diabetes, renal disease, heart disease, cancer, and obesity are more likely to become severely
ill and need hospitalization if they contract the coronavirus.
If you fall into one of these groups, traveling or visiting a crowded location with a large
number of other vacationers can be particularly dangerous. Driving to a remote vacation
location, on the other hand, could be appropriate.

4. Test Before, During, and Even After Your Trip
If a coronavirus test is available, you can take it in the days leading up to your departure,
whether or not it helps you escape quarantine. (It's best to consult your primary care provider
and follow the CDC's recommendations.) Getting a bad result lowers the chances of
unintentionally bringing the virus to your destination.
Testing is actually needed in some areas. Croatia, for example, reportedly allows U.S. people
to enter the country if they have tested negative for COVID-19 no more than 48 hours before
arrival. (Travelers can also choose to quarantine for at least seven days in Croatia before
undergoing a local PCR test.) Visitors to New York must take a test a few days before and
after arriving; these two negative results are the only way to escape the 14-day quarantine
imposed by the state. Anyone remaining in Washington, DC for more than 24 hours would
undergo similar monitoring.
Remember that PCR test results will take a few days or longer to arrive, so plan ahead. Some
testing locations require appointments, which can be difficult to come by at short notice,
particularly during the holidays.
It's important to note that just because you tested negative for COVID-19 doesn't mean you're
resistant. After taking the test, you might come into contact with an infected individual, and
there is the possibility of testing inaccuracies.
It's also a safe idea to self-isolate for one to two weeks before embarking on your journey as
an extra precaution.
5. Decide on Your Mode of Travel
Experts now consider driving to be the safest mode of transportation, especially if the
destination can be reached in a day, since it significantly reduces your interactions with
others.
Flying can also be reasonably risk-free if steps are taken. During the boarding and
disembarking processes, your airline should ensure that the plane is properly cleaned and that
adequate space between passengers is maintained. As a passenger, choose an airline that does
not fill all of its seats, stay in your seat as much as possible during the flight, and wear your
mask almost all of the time, particularly when other passengers nearby remove theirs to eat or
drink.
Terry Adirim, MD, MPH, senior associate dean for clinical affairs at Florida Atlantic
University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton, recommends
downloading the airline's software before arriving at the airport. “Boarding pass screens are
touched by a lot of people, so they can spread disease,” she says.
Traveling by bus would almost certainly necessitate extra caution, as the ventilation systems
(a vital method for removing microbes from the air) might not be as strong as those on
planes.

6. Be Choosy About Where You Stay
Many hotel chains, thankfully, are paying particular attention to sanitizing guest rooms and
common areas. Some hotels are now “buffering” rooms by leaving them empty for a day or
two between guests to allow any virus in the air to fade. If you want to stay in a hotel, experts
recommend calling ahead to find out what protocols they follow.
Many travelers choose to rent an entire house via sites like Vrbo or Airbnb so that they won't
have to worry about bumping into people in the lobby or getting into a packed elevator.
However, since homes are privately owned, the level of sanitation prior to your arrival can
vary greatly.
No matter where you stay, as soon as you arrive, open any operable windows for a few
minutes (a small amount is perfect if it's cold). By getting in fresh air, this improves airflow.
Even if the place appears to be spotless, the Mayo Clinic recommends disinfecting all high-
touch surfaces yourself, especially light switches, sink faucet handles, doorknobs, and remote
controls. If there is a kitchen, make sure all dishes, cups, and silverware are clean before
using them.
Of course, if you're living with relatives, it'll be almost difficult to avoid cross-contamination.
When inside, however, it's a good idea to wear masks around one another.
7. Cook or Bring in Takeout.
One of the hazards of leaving home is figuring out what to do with all the meals you'll be
consuming. “The best way to eat when traveling is to order takeout or prepare your own
food,” says Matthew Grant, MD, an infectious diseases specialist at Yale Medicine in New
Haven, Connecticut.
While eating at an outdoor restaurant is relatively safe (though not as safe as curb side
pickup, according to the CDC), it will be difficult to do so in colder parts of the world.
(However, it isn't impossible: Find a restaurant with heaters, carry a lap blanket, and keep
your coat and hat on for the duration of your meal.)
And if you're traveling to a warmer area, you won't be able to consume any of your meals
outside. “Things like thunderstorms or extremely hot temperatures can make it difficult or
impossible,” says Dr. Grant. This will cause you to retreat indoors, putting you at greater risk.
Make sure that every restaurant follows proper procedure, such as wearing masks for
employees and roaming guests and spacing tables far enough apart to allow for social
distancing. When a business goes above and beyond, such as replacing reusable menus with
digital ones, it shows it is serious about the virus.

8. Don’t Let Your Guard Down
It's easy to forget about the constraints of your daily life when you're on holiday. However,
just because you're gambling in Las Vegas, kayaking in the Florida Everglades, or hanging
out with relatives you haven't seen in years doesn't mean you're immune to the virus.
Grant emphasizes the importance of following general CDC advice at all times, which
includes washing hands often, avoiding touching your face as often as possible, maintaining a
distance of 6 (or preferably more) feet between yourself and others, and, most importantly,
wearing a mask in all public settings.
9. Approach each activity with caution.
There may be things you enjoy doing on vacation that aren't appropriate to do now. You're
more likely to get sick in bars, karaoke cafes, amusement parks with indoor swings, and other
indoor events.
Seeking hobbies that will get you outside and away from people instead. Drive-in movies and
concerts, for example, are examples of artistic, safe entertainment.
Check out the Brown Alpert Medical School's interactive COVID-19 risk app if you're not
sure if an operation is legal. You enter details about your planned operation, and it calculates
the risk based on virus spread in your place. Some tasks benefit more from this app than
others. If you're going to a friend's party, for example, you can easily answer all questions
about how many people will be there and how many will be wearing masks. This is more
difficult to evaluate in the case of a restaurant or a shopping mall.
10. Re-evaluate at Every Turn
Make reservations for accommodation and events that you can cancel at any time, including
at the last minute. If you or someone you're traveling with develops symptoms or comes into
touch with someone who has COVID-19, you should cancel your trip and stay at home.
When you're away, continually re-evaluate everything and adjust your plans as required. If
you're in a restaurant and note that the waitstaff is wearing masks around their necks rather
than over their mouths and noses, Glatt suggests getting up and leaving.
“You have to be able to admit that something isn't working, even though you've already paid
for it,” he says. “With an infectious virus on the loose, protection must take precedence over
profit.”

MUST KNOW 10 BEST TRAVEL TIPS DURING COVID.

  • 1. MUST KNOW TRAVEL TIPS DURING COVID-19. >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB 1. Find out what the COVID-19 rate is in your region. Traveling while the novel coronavirus is still widely circulating carries some risk, regardless of where you're going or how many precautions you take. COVID-19 concentrations are hitting new highs in the United States, which means your population is likely to have more circulating virus than it was this summer. There are many reasons to be aware of the infection rate in your region. According to Dr. Glatt, a spokesperson for the Infectious Diseases Society of America, if you choose to fly by plane from a region where COVID-19 cases are common, the chances of a passenger near you contracting the disease would be higher, increasing the infection risk. You're much more likely to infect any relatives you want to meet in this situation. Furthermore, some states, such as Connecticut, are imposing a 14-day quarantine on visitors from non-contiguous states with high infection rates unless they can provide evidence of a negative PCR test (the most reliable type of coronavirus test) performed within the previous 72 hours. If you're supposed to quarantine, you'll need to plan ahead of time, such as taking any food you'll need because you won't be able to go shopping. ALL TRAVEL TIPS IN ONE PLACE (FREE) >> https://uii.io/KSoTF9EZ 2. Examine COVID-19 Rates in Your Travel Destination. It's also crucial to keep track of the infection rate at your destination. If you're going to a place where COVID-19 is spreading like wildfire, the chances of getting sick are higher. And, with certain hospitals already at peak, there's a risk you won't be able to get the treatment you need if you get sick. The test positivity rate (a primary indicator of virus circulation levels) for a given region can be found on the website of the local public health department. Alternatively, go to the Brown School of Public Health's expansive website Global Epidemics and look for the color-coded risk level (which is curiously delineated by congressional district rather than county). Check the State Department website for information on virus rates and whether Americans are prohibited from entering those countries, as they are in many European countries. 3. Consider Your (and Your host's) health. One important consideration is how dangerous traveling will be for you. “With COVID-19, everything has to be tailored to the user. “You have to look at it from your own point of view,” Glatt says. Are you or someone you're traveling with at high risk of contracting COVID-19? According to the CDC, people over the age of 65 and those with chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, renal disease, heart disease, cancer, and obesity are more likely to become severely ill and need hospitalization if they contract the coronavirus.
  • 2. If you fall into one of these groups, traveling or visiting a crowded location with a large number of other vacationers can be particularly dangerous. Driving to a remote vacation location, on the other hand, could be appropriate. ALL TRAVEL TIPS IN ONE PLACE (FREE) >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB 4. Test Before, During, and Even After Your Trip If a coronavirus test is available, you can take it in the days leading up to your departure, whether or not it helps you escape quarantine. (It's best to consult your primary care provider and follow the CDC's recommendations.) Getting a bad result lowers the chances of unintentionally bringing the virus to your destination. Testing is actually needed in some areas. Croatia, for example, reportedly allows U.S. people to enter the country if they have tested negative for COVID-19 no more than 48 hours before arrival. (Travelers can also choose to quarantine for at least seven days in Croatia before undergoing a local PCR test.) Visitors to New York must take a test a few days before and after arriving; these two negative results are the only way to escape the 14-day quarantine imposed by the state. Anyone remaining in Washington, DC for more than 24 hours would undergo similar monitoring. Remember that PCR test results will take a few days or longer to arrive, so plan ahead. Some testing locations require appointments, which can be difficult to come by at short notice, particularly during the holidays. It's important to note that just because you tested negative for COVID-19 doesn't mean you're resistant. After taking the test, you might come into contact with an infected individual, and there is the possibility of testing inaccuracies. It's also a safe idea to self-isolate for one to two weeks before embarking on your journey as an extra precaution. 5. Decide on Your Mode of Travel Experts now consider driving to be the safest mode of transportation, especially if the destination can be reached in a day, since it significantly reduces your interactions with others. Flying can also be reasonably risk-free if steps are taken. During the boarding and disembarking processes, your airline should ensure that the plane is properly cleaned and that adequate space between passengers is maintained. As a passenger, choose an airline that does not fill all of its seats, stay in your seat as much as possible during the flight, and wear your mask almost all of the time, particularly when other passengers nearby remove theirs to eat or drink. Terry Adirim, MD, MPH, senior associate dean for clinical affairs at Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton, recommends downloading the airline's software before arriving at the airport. “Boarding pass screens are touched by a lot of people, so they can spread disease,” she says.
  • 3. Traveling by bus would almost certainly necessitate extra caution, as the ventilation systems (a vital method for removing microbes from the air) might not be as strong as those on planes. ALL TRAVEL TIPS IN ONE PLACE (FREE) >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB 6. Be Choosy About Where You Stay Many hotel chains, thankfully, are paying particular attention to sanitizing guest rooms and common areas. Some hotels are now “buffering” rooms by leaving them empty for a day or two between guests to allow any virus in the air to fade. If you want to stay in a hotel, experts recommend calling ahead to find out what protocols they follow. Many travelers choose to rent an entire house via sites like Vrbo or Airbnb so that they won't have to worry about bumping into people in the lobby or getting into a packed elevator. However, since homes are privately owned, the level of sanitation prior to your arrival can vary greatly. No matter where you stay, as soon as you arrive, open any operable windows for a few minutes (a small amount is perfect if it's cold). By getting in fresh air, this improves airflow. Even if the place appears to be spotless, the Mayo Clinic recommends disinfecting all high- touch surfaces yourself, especially light switches, sink faucet handles, doorknobs, and remote controls. If there is a kitchen, make sure all dishes, cups, and silverware are clean before using them. Of course, if you're living with relatives, it'll be almost difficult to avoid cross-contamination. When inside, however, it's a good idea to wear masks around one another. 7. Cook or Bring in Takeout. One of the hazards of leaving home is figuring out what to do with all the meals you'll be consuming. “The best way to eat when traveling is to order takeout or prepare your own food,” says Matthew Grant, MD, an infectious diseases specialist at Yale Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. While eating at an outdoor restaurant is relatively safe (though not as safe as curb side pickup, according to the CDC), it will be difficult to do so in colder parts of the world. (However, it isn't impossible: Find a restaurant with heaters, carry a lap blanket, and keep your coat and hat on for the duration of your meal.) And if you're traveling to a warmer area, you won't be able to consume any of your meals outside. “Things like thunderstorms or extremely hot temperatures can make it difficult or impossible,” says Dr. Grant. This will cause you to retreat indoors, putting you at greater risk. Make sure that every restaurant follows proper procedure, such as wearing masks for employees and roaming guests and spacing tables far enough apart to allow for social distancing. When a business goes above and beyond, such as replacing reusable menus with digital ones, it shows it is serious about the virus. ALL TRAVEL TIPS IN ONE PLACE (FREE) >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB
  • 4. 8. Don’t Let Your Guard Down It's easy to forget about the constraints of your daily life when you're on holiday. However, just because you're gambling in Las Vegas, kayaking in the Florida Everglades, or hanging out with relatives you haven't seen in years doesn't mean you're immune to the virus. Grant emphasizes the importance of following general CDC advice at all times, which includes washing hands often, avoiding touching your face as often as possible, maintaining a distance of 6 (or preferably more) feet between yourself and others, and, most importantly, wearing a mask in all public settings. 9. Approach each activity with caution. There may be things you enjoy doing on vacation that aren't appropriate to do now. You're more likely to get sick in bars, karaoke cafes, amusement parks with indoor swings, and other indoor events. Seeking hobbies that will get you outside and away from people instead. Drive-in movies and concerts, for example, are examples of artistic, safe entertainment. Check out the Brown Alpert Medical School's interactive COVID-19 risk app if you're not sure if an operation is legal. You enter details about your planned operation, and it calculates the risk based on virus spread in your place. Some tasks benefit more from this app than others. If you're going to a friend's party, for example, you can easily answer all questions about how many people will be there and how many will be wearing masks. This is more difficult to evaluate in the case of a restaurant or a shopping mall. 10. Re-evaluate at Every Turn Make reservations for accommodation and events that you can cancel at any time, including at the last minute. If you or someone you're traveling with develops symptoms or comes into touch with someone who has COVID-19, you should cancel your trip and stay at home. When you're away, continually re-evaluate everything and adjust your plans as required. If you're in a restaurant and note that the waitstaff is wearing masks around their necks rather than over their mouths and noses, Glatt suggests getting up and leaving. “You have to be able to admit that something isn't working, even though you've already paid for it,” he says. “With an infectious virus on the loose, protection must take precedence over profit.” ALL TRAVEL TIPS IN ONE PLACE (FREE) >> https://oke.io/2qfbFB
