It’s a love letter to old school hand-drawn animation,
Since 2014 we have seen endless remakes of old hand-drawn animation; from Teen Titans remake “Teen Titans Go!” in 2013, to Danger Mouse’s remake in 2014, to Scooby Doo’s remake “Be Cool, Scooby Doo” in 2015. The list goes on nd on and each one using a cheaper digital alternative to animate than their predecessor.
There hasn’t been a Disney hand-drawn movie since 2011 with Winnie the Pooh, and with Walt Disney Studios completely turning towards CGI the future isn’t looking so good for Hand-drawn animation in the mainstream world.
With “When Dreams Became Data” I want to show the world that hand-drawn animation cannot and should not be limited as a cheaper alternative, and cannot be pushed aside for CGI.
