3. Introduction
These are the derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons in which a
hydrogen of the benzene rings has been replaced by an
amino group ,- NH2.
4. such compounds in which an amino or substituted amino group is bonded directly to an aromatic
rings are termed aromatic amines.
Like their aliphatic counterparts ,aromatic amines could be designed as primary, secondary and
tertiary amines.
PRIMARY AMINES
In primary amines, Only one of the hydrogen Atoms in the ammonia molecule has been replaced.
SECONDARY AMINES
In a secondary amine ,two of the hydrogens in an ammonia molecule have been replaced by alkyl
or aryl group or both
TERTIARY AMINES
All of the hydrogen in an ammonia molecule have been replaced by hydrocarbons group
