Comment on how the design of the magazine cover attracts the target audience:
The Magazine attracts there target audience buy the models the use as there is a wellknown member of Metallica the arrangement of where all the information goes is wild and
unorganised compared to other magazines
Colour
In block capitals and bold to make it stand out and
is also in red to make it stand out as well as
symbolising danger that goes with this genre of
music
Red colour symbolising danger and excitement and
using yellow and black for highlights.

Typefaces
This show a picture of a man aged 30 to 45 who is
shouting, this generaly goes with how the music
makes you feel, he also looks like hes enjoying
himself and doing the world know symbol for rock
(holding up his thumb, index finger and little finger)
He is looking directly at the camera to give the
illusion that he is looking straight at you and he also
has his hand stretched out at the camera
overexadurate the rock/ metal genre of music

Photography Lighting
‘metal up your xmass!’and ‘metalica’ gives the
model a chance to share his genre of music in an
attempt to get more people to listen to his iconic
music. This is in yellow font but with a black
background making it stand out from the rest of the
magazine.
The light of this photo is directly in front but
high us giving a slight shading on the defining
features e.g., eyes, cheeks
Cover lines
The cover lines are on the right of the magazine in
bold with a black outline so the colours can be any
colour and still stand out. This starts in the fallow
point and continues on into the terminal area so if
the reader wants to know more they can continue
reading but it doesn’t waste space in a high priority
area
Design Principles Used?
Main cover line
‘Metallica’ stretched across the page to show it is
high priority and has a red background symbolising
danger that this genre of music is associated with,
the text is big, bold and white so it will stand out in
san serif block capitals.
House Style
The house style used is large masthead taking up about 1/5 of the page that is usually
obscured by the model slightly and makes the main cover line stand out the most.
Guttonbreg design as the designer has
put the important information at the
top of the magazine cover and the less
important topics towards the bottom
in a pretty wild way that shows that
the people who read the magazine
don’t care about how it’s arranged
