1. Meat and Vegetable Consumption Rates
i. Changes of nutrition was due to the adaption of the economic
improvements/adaption of western lifestyle. Vegetable rates has sufficiently
decreased whereas meats have increased, yet the vegetable intake per person
increased from 80g per person in 1969 to 284 g in 1998. The meat intake went
from 3.0% in 1969 to 19.2% in 1998, yet South Korea is in sufficient in milk and
eggs. Animal food intake increased from 7-fold from 1969 to 1994. Plant intake
decreased from 97% in 1969 to 79% in 1994.

2. Typical Meals
i. A normal traditional meal in South Korea is high in nutrition and is mostly low in
calories. Most meals heavily rely on low-fat ingredients such as grains,
vegetables, and seafood. The most typical Korean meal consists of Bap (steamed
white rice), Guk (soup with vegetables plus seafood or meat), and a variety of
Banchan (side dishes). Fermented foods are also typical meals for Koreans such
as Kimichi (spicy-pickled vegetables) and Dwenjang (Korean Soy Paste) which
have both been part of the Korean diet for centuries. Also most Koreans enjoy
hot/spicy foods.

3. Malnutrition Rates
i. .5% per every 100,000 people meaning about 500 people die a year due to
malnutrition for every 100,00 people. Ranked 26th best country out of 192.
South Korea has a better malnutrition rate than countries such as Japan,
Australia and even The United States.

4. Foods Available
i. Most available foods consist of animal foods and plant foods. Cereals/Grain
Products have a huge majority of availability. Like grains, vegetables and fruits
are very easy to come by and mostly consumed due to the cheap prices that
they are sold for. Meat availability varies throughout the country of South Korea
but most of its quality comes out of Soule, its capital. The least available food
