5. HUME CHURCH SITE VISIT
• On 1st July 2023 we went to a site visit of ancient churches in ahmednagar .
• We went to hume memorial chruch which is situated between the streets in the main city
of ahmednagar.
• while visiting there we had to moved with your feets to the chruch while walking towards
the chruch we experienced the local architecture on the city.
• The old buildings with there ancient architecture and buildings covering themselves with
traditional designs and materials of the locals.
• As soon as we reached the chruch it had ornamented façade with pointed arches
windows and louververs.
• The church had two entries one as the main entry and other being the exit and back end
entry.
• Entering from the front gate the church has a foyer which has access to the main chruch
and office area.
• Entering the chruch we can observed many architectural feature within the church.

• The hume memorial church was established in memory
of reverend a. M. Hume, who was a prominent christian
missionary and educator in india during the 19th century.
• The church was built as a tribute to his contributions to
the region.
• Rev. Allan octavian hume was a prominent figure in 19th-
century india. He was not only a christian missionary but
also an ornithologist and a civil servant.
• Hume is best known for his role in founding the indian
national congress, which played a significant part in
india's struggle for independence.

elements as windows. They might have intricate
