1. Joakim Thåström
Daniel Peterson ME10Sven Joachim”Pimme” Eriksson Thåström was born March 20th 1957 and is a famous Swedish musician. He is famous for being a solo artist and being singer and guitarist in the bands “Ebba Grön” and “Imperiet”. He also was in a band called Peace, Love & Pitbulls which wasn’t that famous in Sweden but in other parts of Europe. Thåström also had a small career as an actor in the 80s. He grew up on Skebokvarnsvägen 209 (which he also named an album to later as a solo artist) in Stockholm. His first band was named “Helt Sonika”. They played in different youth clubs in Stockholm. Thåström and some of his friends later made a band first called “The Haters” but soon changed it to “Ebba Grön”. They named it after a police operation. When the police had completed the operation, the word “Ebba grön” was heard through the radio. “Ebba Grön” became one of Sweden’s greatest punk bands, but as they grew more and more successful they developed a new genre of music, leaving the punk behind them. When the 80s arrived and the punk began to disappear, all of the members (except one who was in jail) formed a new side project called “Rymdimperiet”. They decided to develop “Rymdimperiet” after “Ebba Grön” sent their famous farewell letter to TT. (TT is a short for The Newspaper’s Telegram Bureau). “Rymdimperiet” changed name to “Imperiet” after three singles and quickly became popular. This band’s time was quite shaky though, especially because they had several changes of members. They had their last performance in 1988 on Ritz in Stockholm. The year after, Thåström made his first solo album which was self-titled. This record achieved certain success. He continued with his solo career until 1992 when he decided to move to the Netherlands where he formed a new band. This band wouldn’t play anything like punk. This band was to be called Peace, Love & Pitbulls. They released three albums but never became really big in Sweden. But in the rest of Europe, particularly in France, they became quite big. Peace, Love & Pitbulls split up in 1997, and when that happened, Thåström got back to his solo career. He recorded a couple of albums and then he recorded the album “Skebokvarnsvägen 209”, which became a big success quickly. The most successful was the song “Fanfanfan”. He also got his first top ranking on the single list, which had never happened despite his success with “Ebba Grön” and “Imperiet”.Thåström released the album “Kärlek är för dom” in 2009. This album won the “Album of the year” at the Grammy awards. - Joakim Thåström, playing guitar.Source: www.wikipedia.com - http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joakim_Th%C3%A5str%C3%B6mNovember 9th 2010
-43463-3486342
