 The purpose of this assignment is to: 
  
 Devise a digital video sequence for use in an interactive media product. 


  Scenario 

  Client Brief 

  You have been asked to devise a digital video sequence for an interactive media product (an advertisement).
  The client will be Fizzy‐Drink Inc who wants you to individually design and create the resources for a looping 
  advert between 30 to 60 seconds long (maximum) suitable for insertion into a website that will promote the 
  product and explain the advantages and reasons for buying it. 

  You are required to create the final advert from your raw video footage then convert it into a suitable video 
  format for viewing on the web. The unit concludes with an evaluation about your product in terms of the  
  original brief, fitness for purpose, the target audience and the technical qualities used. 

  *Evidence will be required throughout in the form of EITHER a blog (blogger) or a digital diary throughout the 
  whole unit.

You need to state the type of production that you are making for Fizzy Drink Inc so they can 
ensure it appears on the right platform. For example internet. You also need to take into 
consideration where the funding will primarily be coming from eg the company (Fizzy Drink 
Inc) sales of the product, other advertising on you tube. Depending on your chosen subject 
you may wish to write about a specialist contributor for your advert eg a camera operator, 
sound, editor and what they would specifically contribute to the production.

Client Meeting – using the assignment scenario and attending a client meeting you need to 
identify the clients’ requirements.  You could produce a report or a set of minutes to cover 
this range. For example a client brief or market research.

When this information has been included you need to research in teams (or individually) 
your advert. Look at the internet, television, etc for inspiration and possible ideas. Paying 
particular attention to some of the following areas. Look at competitors, products, 
ingredients, labelling and costs etc.  This research should be presented to your client for 
feedback.  You must also include your brainstorms and some of the following sketches, 
storyboards and a technical script.

Your client needs to make sure that when you are producing this advert for them you are 
adhering to the guidelines set out for any practical media production. Your production team 
needs to be aware of some of these legal issues and the processes involved regarding 
clearances, legal, insurance etc. Including some of the following (clearances, legal, insurance, 
ASA, BBFC, trade unions and trade associations.)

The client is unsure of the legal and ethical considerations which may have an effect on the 
finished advertisement.  You should put together a report or presentation highlighting a 
broad range of the following issues. Legal and ethical considerations. Legal eg copyright, 
ethical eg decency and representation eg race and sexuality.

Produce a report & a budget that outlines the requirements for a specific media production 
with supporting research & staff and equipment costs: 
 
     What job roles will need staffing (director, camera person, sound recording, etc)? 

         Equipment needed and daily costs (researched with links and equipment hire 
          company quotes) 

Produce a budget expenditure spread sheet in Excel that outlines a budget of £4000 and 
what this will be spent on.
