FINAL STEP
Findings: I found that from the stands I selected King Sejong Institute Foundation,
Flashsticks and Translating for Europe were the most successful, because they were
able to attract visitors and their stands had the appropriate size, location and design,
On the other hand Arabic for all and welcome translations failed in attracting
visitors. In relation to staff the first three did very well.
Conclusion: Most visitors don't make an immediate purchase decision during the
event therefore it is very important that we: are able to attract them with a good
stand and provide them with the necessary information so that they make or
influence a future purchase decision . Also the importance of targeting potential
visitors as it influences the budget you're willing to spend in things like size, design
or location of the stand.
Recommendation: Follow the ideas given above and conduct a survey to visitors in
order to evaluate the effectiveness of your stand, product and staff.
The type of staff you should be looking for: Friendly and energetic.
* It would be very helpful if you make a special “training” prior the show.
Objectives: To determine important elements of stands and identify potential buyers.
Methodology: My research was done through unstructured observation where my
phenomenon of interest was the reasons behind the success or failure of some stands,
The study took place on Sunday were I analysed for an hour and a half 5 stands that
caught my attention:
1- King Sejong Institute Foundation: A public institution that supports King Senjong
institute a Korean language and cultural centre.
2- Flashsticks: System that supports language learning (consists of printed post-in
notes and a free download app)
3- Translating for Europe: Translating opportunities in European institutions
4- Arabic for all: Specialized in teaching the Arabic language to non native speakers.
5- Welcome translations: Provide a wide range of translations services such as
translated legal documents or medical documents.
What I analysed: How many people showed interest on the stands, their designs and
their products.
Your stand must be attractive, interesting and interactive.
Elements to consider when deciding to create the stand:
1. Size: according to the expected potential clients and the products.
2. Location: when choosing a location have the visitor circulation patterns in
mind. The best locations are in the centre or in the entry.
3. Type of stand: Space only or shell space.
4. Design: create a unique and eye-catching experience for visitors.
5. Digital Technology: Technology attracts visitors and also is a great way of
gathering contact details, completing surveys and demonstrating your products.
