Data Warehousing Case Study
A leading Telco company with over 26 mln. subscribers received its reporting from
different departments in various formats generated from separate source systems.
Information was managed with the help of an in-house data warehouse system that
didn’t integrate source systems. One and the same data varied in different reports, as
there was no single source of correct information.
We proposed for the client an integrated solution of a Data Warehouse System
based on Oracle data warehouse methodology. This solution contained 3
integrated data layers: operational, detailed and analytical, to provide better
capability of the system. Users access to the Data Warehouse was accomplished
by means of SAP BusinessObjects BI tool.
At the end of the 16-months project the client received a single source of accurate
data, an improved reporting, reduced time of reports generation, quick access to
analytical data for all involved business users.
At present the System supports over 2 thousand users.

Our client, one of the leading commercial banks, had 3 separate DWH systems for
different data areas and types of analysis. But data from these systems could not be
integrated for reporting. Analytical reports were generated exclusively by the IT team
in the form of data sheets with no possibility for interactive analysis. Users received
their reports after constant delays.
We implemented Analytical Reporting System based on SAP BusinessObjects
platform for required subject areas, such as Credits, Deposits, Current Accounts
and some others. It included database for integration data from subject areas into
Data Mart and analytical reporting tool.
After 6 months of project lifetime the client received a set of over 200 ready-for-use
analytical reports and semantic layer objects (8 universes) for ad-hoc analysis.
Users received complete and correct data about their clients, accounts and their
transactions.
