The International Gas Union (IGU) represents 95% of the global gas market. It is a non-profit organization established in 1931 to promote technical and economic progress in the gas industry. The IGU holds the World Gas Conference every 3 years and oversees committee work involving over 800 gas industry experts. It aims to minimize environmental impact and promote efficient gas utilization, research, and transparent communication. The IGU provides benefits like networking, promotion, and information to its 74 Charter and 35 Associate members. It is hosted by Statoil in Oslo and creates forums for networking, knowledge sharing, and dialogue on gas issues.
