ntrepreneurship’ –a word is buzzing everywhere nowadays, and,
Ethe word is no longer captive in this world.
According to the renowned industry reports, in the year 1723, the French
word entrepreneur first appeared in their dictionary, to describe a
person who organizes and operates a business by taking a financial risk.
Since then, the word –Entrepreneur –and the world –has changed
completely and still continuing to do so. Today, the word –
Entrepreneurship is celebrated like anything before and defined in so
many ways.
Many businesses are strongly growing these days and booming in the 21st
century. Creativity, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking are the key
factors for spurring success.
To build successful businesses require a number of organizational,
e cient, and systematic entrepreneurial actions. In addition to the
acquisition and the successful use of resources, especially identifying
new ideas and converting them into a viable business model, creative
entrepreneurs play an important role in the company's success.
Creative entrepreneurs are the one who actually brings unconventional
ideas to the table. They are the one who bridges the gap between
creative genius and a traditional business approach.
Many people think creativity and entrepreneurship don’t go hand-in-
hand. But, what I personally think is that creativity is a basic element for
every entrepreneur. It is something that has become closely associated
with entrepreneurs. Creativity doesn’t mean coming up with only ideas.
But, it means one must be able to adapt new circumstances, negative
uncertainty, and finding solutions as the problem arises. And, whenever
applied to a problem, creativity is unbeatable.
Creative Entrepreneurship could simply be the solution for the economic
problems of today’s world; and, it’s all about pushing to the fullest
potential and never settling.
Entrepreneurship brings the most innovative and exciting ideas to
reality. Though, it is a process that can be made even more successful
with creative thinking. Creativity and entrepreneurship are intricately
related and complement each other to the core. As both are important to
each other; one cannot guarantee success without the other.

C N E TO T N S
rom the recent past, the definition of “Business” can be summed up as “to fulfil the customers’needs and
F st
desires, providing goods and services through a particular business”. But, today, in this 21 century this basic
concept alone won’t fly, it’s because customers are looking out for the spectacular solutions. Thus, creativity,
innovation, and out-of-the-box have become the elementary factors driving success.
Keeping in mind, that ‘ideas rule the world’, and it has never been truer than it is today, a time when ‘wild ideas’ seem
to be making up the lion’s share of all ideas.
This month, Insights Success has come up with the special issue “The 10 Most Creative Entrepreneurs to Watch in

COVER STORY
A Diligent Glass Sculptor whose passion is Glass Art
Moiz Arsiwala
Founder
G
lass, though fragile is fascinating to look at!
History of glass-making dates back to the ancient
Mesopotamia, some 3600 years ago. It was then
extensively popularized and developed in Egypt and
Assyria as a decorative and functional element. It was used
to make beads, jewellery and fine dining pieces and more.
In the middle ages, the art of using glass or Glass Art took
new shape. The Norman and Gothic Cathedrals in Europe
used stained glasses as a major architectural and decorative
element to accentuate the beauty of these Cathedrals. Glass
from Murano, Venetia, known as just Venetian Glass, is a
result of years of continuous experiments, refinements and
defines glass in its full glory. The early 19th century saw the
old art glass movement at its peak with great Studios or
Ateliers like Tiffany, Lalique, Daum and Galle taking it to
new levels.
Hardwork and Persistence Personified
To give glass its defining or creative form, it must go
through extremities that shape and design it. These high
temperatures and pressure might be extreme but it helps
glass to come out in its glorious form. Similar is the story of
Glass Artist, Moiz Arsiwala who achieved his dreams after
going through life’s refinery. He is what the world describes
as a creative person - ambitious, experimenter, learner, risk
taker, rule-breaker and above all hard worker. And like
many artists, he too has an inspiration or muse – Glass.
Moiz’s love for glass started as a child. His family was
associated with glass and it works for 85 years in Mumbai.
A change of place brought a change in lives. They shifted to
Bangalore and his father left the ancestral work. Moiz, who
had developed a fascination with glass, kept asking his
father to start afresh, but his father insisted on him having a
formal education first.
Years changed, and so did Moiz’s qualification, but what
did not change was his passion for glass. At the crossroads,
to start a corporate job as per his father’s wish, or choose
glass art as per his wish, Moiz did sit for several interviews.
But deep inside, he knew, he was not going to work under
anyone. He was meant to lead, create, innovate, try,
experiment, and was sure to work hard for it.
His perseverance won over his father who agreed but
suggested him to get some experience first. Moiz
approached a school in Istanbul, Turkey which was going to
have a course in Glass Sculpting by Vladimir Klein. Thus,
life took an interesting turn for him.
Istanbul – An Artist’s Delight
Moiz describes Istanbul as a city of art and a place which
gave him life’s best experience. He took all that the city had
to offer. He learnt the techniques of seeing the glass
differently, working on it differently, have a keen eye on the
perfection of the final finishing and more. His first sculpture
was a Qibla inspired from Al Jame Al Azhar Masjid in
Cairo, Egypt (which coincidentally is the first masjid to be
made in Cairo), and wished to present it to His Holiness –
Late Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb, TUS. And
he did it, the piece was presented and in return, he was
bestowed with a lifetime of blessings, which Moiz says, “I
can feel and experience on a daily basis.”
He then joined a Glass Industry in Nagpur to learn the
tricks and the trade and whatever he could about general
glass and how the glass system in general, functions. Yet,
that was not what he wanted to do eventually. Moiz adds, “I
wanted to do something different, and something which I
would enjoy working on.”
Isra – The Fateful Journey
Isra is the Night Journey that the Prophet took to the
heavens and is said to have met Allah. Isra is thus the
symbolic journey that one takes to realize their goal and
dreams. For Moiz, the word describes the culmination point
of his journey so far. All his hard work, learning, passion,
transpired into Isra Glass, his own company, his baby!
Initially, he just started by taking orders of any type of
glass, got the job done from other vendors, and supplied the
glass. But, he wanted to do something more, something
different. The skill which he had learnt in Istanbul, was not
getting utilized in this kind of market. He says, “I guess
there was no place for art, and I realized people don’t
appreciate art, because good glass art, is expensive, and
people would not spend on glass art just for keeping in a
showcase.” After a few months, he came across a material
which was solid glass pillars and columns, and it
immediately struck him, that this material is fancy, it is
artistic, and it has a utility. While his well-wishers advised
him to abstain from trying something different, Moiz
wanted to give it a try. A simple hand machine, small
go-down and lots of self-belief saw him cut the solid glass
pillar and transform it into a piece of art. He went to shops
of other glass dealers, informed them and promoted this
customization and artistry.
Word spread, the popularity of the art increased, and Isra
was flooded with orders. Moiz now needed hands, to cope
up to fulfil of same day and 24-hour delivery commitment.
He then started training a team and showed them the quality
of the end result which must be achieved. Slowly and
steadily, Moiz and Isra Glass had found their ground.
The Exclusive Products
Isra Glass has five products under its brand.
• Vetropole Glass Pillars: Beautiful, decorative glass
pillars used mainly as dividers or room partitions in
homes. They are also customizable to create staircase
balusters, table legs, handles, ceiling art, staircase

pillar, lights up the tiny bubbles in the pillar with the
colour of the light, giving an impression of bubbles
suspended in a liquid and making them mesmerizing.
• Coralli Blown Glass Art: The Coralli range of hand
blown glass art is a unique collection of decorative pieces
that when grouped together & indirectly lit from the front
or sides, add special energy of natural design into space.
Available in different colours & textures, these coral
shaped art pieces can be used as wall art, ceiling art, lamp
art or art murals.
• Aura Solid Glass Bricks: Colorful Aurora night lights
seen at Polar Regions are captured in the Aura Solid
Glass Brick. They are beautiful inner wall or a partition
design solution in vibrant colours. The subtle design in brick accents the touch
of style, colour & character. They come in standard sizes making them fit for
both interior and exterior applications.
• Luminorra Glow Mirrors: Luminorra Glow Mirror is a Patent Pending
innovation by Moiz, and is a fascinating piece of new-age technological art.
It can be used to create an illusion of larger living space, by placing it in
strategic locations. It can furnish one’s home with an instant facelift, turning
it brighter, bigger and fascinating! Purely a luxury product, it comes in a
variety of shapes and forms with a range of features and in seven unique
types.
Touch: A touch on the mirror will illuminate the design within the mirror
Demist: A feature for steam free mirrors
Punctual: A LED clock built into the mirror
Jazz: A Bluetooth enabled feature to pair any device and play favorite tracks
Connect: A feature which has all of the above and with a small
screenshowing calendar, FM, USB and answering calls from the mirror.
Infinity: A décor mirror with an 3D illusion of infinity
Mini: A portable vanity mirror which
doubles as a table lamp
• MoizArt Hand Crafted Glass: The
glass which is handcrafted, or made
by Moiz personally, is sold with
MoizArt branding. He says, “A lot of
glass, mirrors, paperweights,
mementoes are made by me. This is
the art I enjoy the most since I make it
personally and take the orders one at
a time. There is actually a wait list for
the work I carry out since each art
piece is created differently.”
The Industry – Challenges and
Promises
Moiz believes that one must enter an
industry with full conviction and not as
a half-hearted attempt. His business is
defined by his passion and it pains him
to see people being in the Glass Industry
just for the sake of it. They have no
knowledge of glass and are dependent
on others for surviving. This hurts the
overall market most, since such
businesses don’t value the art, and just
sell glass art as a product. As long as
their other mainstream sales are ticking,
they sell glass art at an averaged out
price, which most of the times is under
cost for mainstream glass businesses.
Moiz says, “Business should maintain,
continue and expand in their
mainstream businesses, or have an
ethical way of valuing the art, by doing
a thorough research of what the art
demands, and how it would be valued in
the eyes of the customer.”
And this is exactly what he advises the
young in the business. He tells them that
business is very satisfying, and even
more satisfying if performed with
utmost sincerity, being passionate about
the product you are trading with, and
ethics. He reminds them, “Do not get
attracted to short term gains. They are
short term for a reason. The slower you
grow, the stronger will be the
foundation.”
He also shares his experience as an
entrepreneur. He feels that challenges are
part of the journey for any Entrepreneur. Be
it things like skilled labour, logistics,
administration, marketing or sales, there are
challenges. But as an Entrepreneur, there is
a roleplay in every department. The lesser
one depends on others, the more involved
one will be, and the more involved one is,
the more one can overcome challenges.
Crafting the Future Roads
Moiz’s aim is to provide good quality glass
solutions in Hotels and resorts, with regards
to either Vetropole, or the Luminorra LED
Mirrors. His eventual goal is to go global
by 2020. Isra Glass is already exporting
occasionally to countries like Australia,
UAE, Africa, etc. and he would like to
streamline the sales and communication
channel and venture out more. Moiz prefers
doing business being connected to his end
clientele. Looking forward to the future, he
adds, “I don’t want to drastically expand in
a way where I would be dependent on
others to attend to my clients. Hence I keep
looking out for great tools, and automation
machines to enhance the quality of
workmanship and shorten delivery time, so
that I would get time to attend my clients,
and more time creating and innovating
too.”
“Whatever I am today is because of my father. He trusted me and allowed me to take decisions for my
company, on my own. I learnt a lot from small important mistakes to avoid big mistakes in the future.
His guidance and support on a day to day basis is immeasurable in my life. His experiences, lessons and
historic quotes sail me through many day to day tasks and tough decisions.”

Most recently, 86 minutes of Stereo Conversion of the mega blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame” was done at our Pune Studio.
We pride ourselves on the fact that we have a constant flow of repeat Hollywood customers, a clear-cut testimonial that we
are delivering above and beyond their expectations. To meet these high standards, we nurture and maintain an exceptionally
skilled creative and technical workforce. Along with the challenges of delivering these international projects, the team must
also develop and employ the latest innovations, to be leaders in the business. If our creative and technical workforce are
considered to be our heart, we believe our in-house Pipeline Research & Development team is our brain. Our custom-built
tools ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of work across all our global studios, which accelerate our production
efficiencies so that our artists can spend more time in making the right creative decisions.
Developing an International Nexus for Content Technology and Post Production
As the entertainment industry grew beyond geographical boundaries, crossing all linguistic barriers and achieving new
heights in terms of quality and deliveries, it was essential for global producers to find production partners who could not

only deliver quality in time, but also give a price advantage
in a cost-competitive business environment. Early on,
Deluxe gauged the potential of technological advantages in
India and established their footprint in Pune, India for their
production studios. India, and Pune in particular, quickly
distinguished itself as a hub for creative and technically
skilled artists for international productions.
The Pune studio is housed in the high security SEZ
complex and is spread over 83,000 sqft. with a creative and
technical staff of 1,500+. The studio has artists from
different parts of the country which helps develop multi-
cultural diversity in terms of a creative offering to our
clients. The culture is built around the Deluxe Values of
“Exceed Expectation, Take Ownership, Act with Integrity,
Be Pioneers, Collaborate, Pursue Diversity and the most
important aspect of studio culture is being Happy.
Security is a Priority for Content Owners
Digital technology has shrunk the world and has many
advantages in terms of communication at lightning speed,
access to enormous content at your fingertips, unlimited
distribution channels to pass on the contents etc. We have
established one of the most secure studios by implementing
world-class security practices in our system and providing
repetitive security training programs to our employees. We
validate our Physical, Digital and Management security
practices by periodically conducting high-level external
security audits like; MPAA, CDSA, GRC and major
Hollywood studio audits. Content security practices is not
just a technical process for us, it is an obsession.
Innovation is in our DNA
Technology is a vehicle for us to reach our next goal of
innovation. We love to keep innovation as an ever-moving
finishing line. This brings the best out of our technology
and helps us push boundaries each time. Having state-of-
the-art technology has become a norm for Deluxe India.
What we achieve by utilizing this technology is our

work in a cohesive environment which is fast and allows for
seamless, sophisticated asset management for artists and
supervisors.
FLUX provides powerful features like; accessibility of
every artist’s work to our clients at their native location.
This helps our clients to understand the production progress
and creative development of each shot. FLUX is known for
its Stability, Scalability and Security.
Pride in the Employer/Employee Equation at Deluxe
Organizations get built not merely by number of people but
by the ideas those people bring in. At Deluxe, we strongly
feel employee-employer are different roles that work
together as one single team towards the same goal. The
ownership of the organization is not only with the
employer, but our employees too take the pride of
ownership. Unless both the parties walk in each other’s
shoes to understand the role and the responsibilities of each
other, we cannot build a winning team.
Team engagement through social gatherings, sport activities
and monthly award ceremonies. One of the strongest
programs we have built to understand employee/employer
relationship is by meeting all the employees one-on-one to
address concerns, compliments and concepts. These simple
exercises have helped us establish best practices to build a
better organisation. Additionally, the company provides
competitive salaries and perks like; AC Cab facility,
Mediclaim, and planned overtime - a rarity in our business.
On the day of induction, every newcomer is greeted by the
core Deluxe India team, informing them of the Culture,
Vision & Mission of the company. The four H’s, “Honesty,
Hard work, Humility and Happiness” are the four pillars on
which our culture is built. The HR team not only works
around growth path, and skill development of the employee,
but also spends an equal amount of energy in building
work-life-balance for the staff.
Our production team works very closely with our artists to
foster and encourage their best work and have built a very
strong Reward and Recognition program to keep them
motivated. By providing them with mentors, additional
training, or simply by giving them the chance to interact
with a special manager, Deluxe India has committed itself
to providing career development opportunities across our
employee pool. It has all proven to be a winning formula
and we see the results each and every day.

Success!Success!Success!Success might be a relative term but is very crucial for human beings.
Various dictionaries define success as the achievement of the desired
result, mostly positive results. But truly speaking, our whole existence
is defined by success however small or big. If we scrutinize our single
day at the end of it, we can see small success as well as failures. But
what makes successful people really successful is that they analyse
andlearnfromtheirfailuresandturnthemintosuccess.
So what constitutes a success story? Especially
for an entrepreneur who takes a giant leap of faith
in themselves and their ideas to look for success.
What do they consider their key andtheir moment
of success? Here’s what a few have to say when
asked“Successaccordingtoyouis-……
Ashok Rajpal, Managing Director, Ambrane
“Hard work that has no replacement; keep
going and you shall get your dues. Also never
get carried away.”
“Success means to find happiness in the
little things and to achieve the goals you set
for yourself however big or small.”

Hard work, persistence, setting clear goals and working
towards them sure seems to be the key.
“Whether you need to watch motivational videos on TED Talks or
YouTube, listen to music that gets you revved up, or simply embark
on an empowering mental journey that will help you to envision
your goals lucidly, you have to do what it takes to stay Motivated.
Because, at the end of the day, it’s up to you to stay focused on
your goals, and not someone else. The only person you would be
cheating by not putting in the effort every single day to achieve
your goals is yourself. Do your best to avoid distractions and time
wasters, and work towards your goals by staying motivated”
Here’s what Arjun Bajaj – CEO, Daiwa India has
to say about staying motivated:
So with Going forward, what motivates them to keep going even when things
are not the way they wanted to be?

“Each person has a different definition for success. Some
measure it with money, some with ‘accomplishment, awards or
recognition’. With Glyph, my intention was to work in meaningful
ways with brands. To partner with businesses to help grow them
with design. To create a work environment which nurtures
individuals and the collective. To this end, we have been
successful.”
Pari Purohit, Founder & Creative Director at Studio Glyph
Here what that sense of achievement feels like:
Moiz Arsiwala, Founder Isra Glass
“Success is the feeling of satisfaction when a customer
recognizes you in a crowd, even after many years and
communicates emotionally, the amazement and aura that my art
has created in their home or workplace.”

So here’s what the recipe for success looks like:
• Decide and choose what you love to do;
• Prepare yourself as you commit yourself;
• Give 100% of your efforts and maybe more;
• Grab the opportunities that come your way;
• Chop off negativity;
• Add love, loyalty, and praise for employees and co-workers;
• Season it with motivation;
• Have patience and faith as your work takes time to ripe.
• Enjoy all the success that you deserve and worked so hard for!
Celebrate each day as it comes and stay grateful for the wonderful
opportunity life has given you!

elieving in creating his own roadmaps, Arjun
BBajaj, the CEO & Founder of Daiwa India is one
of the zealous entrepreneur who refurnished the
company as one of India’s largest business. In an interview
with Insights Success, Arjun Bajaj have shared some
insightful views and highlighted the influences made by
their company to be the most recommended law solution
provider.
01. Kindly brief us about the inception story of
DAIWA?
Daiwa began its journey in the year 2016 on the
pathway to sync the ongoing problem in the TV
Industry. We realized that the TV Market was going
through a very troubled time period, wherein most of
the brands were sourcing final products from China and
assembling in India and calling it ‘Make in India’ and
lacked implementation, which is where we felt the need
to build a brand which truly resonates the ‘Make in
India’ philosophy not only in terms of its design and
performance but also functionalities designed as per the
needs of the audience. Daiwa comes from the parent
company Videotex a popular ODM brand which has
been in the Industry for over 35 Years. Today Daiwa,
brings the complete back end integration for
manufacturing LED TV’s in India and are currently
having a capacity of manufacturing 75000 in a month
and are further planning to invest more in factories.
Today Daiwa, is reckoned among top 10 TV Brands in
India, and has established a very strong foothold, at
Pan India Level.
02. Kindly talk about the journey of the CEO/Founder
and his/her initial days, success stories, and
challenges.
Even though Daiwa is backed by 35 years old parent
company Videotex (a leading ODM of LED TVs) the
journey has not been smooth sailing, rather has, had its
own share of challenges too. In the initial days, had a
One-man army functioning being a startup. Right from
the cataloging to designs to order processing to
dispatches and after sales service everything was
managed by Arjun himself. With his hardship and
immense faith, today Daiwa has a very strong team of
over 100+ people, governing the functioning of the
Brand.
The other aspect being, the brand faced lot of resistance
from the Market inspite of being quality and best
priced, it was difficult to move sale, since it was much
unknown to the end user. Overall that made it quite
difficult to establish alliances with the online partners.
Over a period of time, our products drove the strong
word of mouth, and Daiwa as a brand saw acceptance
in the Indian Markets. Today Daiwa sells its products in
all leading retail stores and online portals, not just that
it also sells units from its own website. The journey has
been exciting, but extremely challenging considering
the ongoing situation of the Indian Consumer Durables
market as well.
03. What kind of ethics, principles and manner of
working does he/she observes while running the
business?
For me, Honesty is a key characteristic of a business
because it has helped me set the tone for the kind of
work culture we have established at Daiwa. It has
helped us provide consistency in workplace behaviour,
and build loyalty and trust in customers and prospects.
Apart from this, Arjun is highly punctual and strongly
believes in Transparency in any operations.
04. Share with us the accomplishments and
achievements of him/her and the company’s
achievements under his/her leadership.
Arjun does not believe in blowing his own trumpet.
Some key accomplishments which he calls value adds
in his Journey includes; Successfully launched 2
Brands in 3 Years and have been nominated for the
several award categories when it comes to the product

range. Daiwa has received an award for ‘The most
affordable Brand of the year’ by Mobility India.
Another achievement is innovation of 4k UHD
Quantum Luminit TV, which created a huge buzz for
our brand in the market, since it was a First Timer to
India. These milestones have overall, contributed to
the value and business of the organization.
05. Please tell us about the services you provide that
makes the brand unique in the mid of cut throat
competition.
Daiwa has always focused on building the latest in
technology at most prudent prices, exclusive to the
Indian markets. In terms of the uniqueness, its
two-fold, balancing both the Products and services.
Among products, we have brought several new
technologies in India which includes Wide Color
Gamut to Pictures, Tailoring the speakers as per the
Indian needs, Unique remote with direct app keys and
keyboard with easy surf on Smart TVs, balancing
voltage fluctuations for TV as per Indian power
conditions etc. Our Goal has always been to go the
extra mile in terms of the deliverables to the
consumers. We do not want to follow the stereotyped
industry, and each one of our products resonates the
same viewpoint.
Among services too, we have gone a step ahead and
launched our own Daiwa App, a service app which
allows customer interface 24x7, which got us
phenomenal response. Apart from this, our additional
product Warranty too has established consumer
confidence on Daiwa products. We promise to provide
value for money to customer in addition to best in
class technology. Daiwa’s main objective is to break
the myth that the finest products only comes at a hefty
price.
06. State us about the most memorable and remarkable
moment of your life.
The most remarkable moment for me was when my
father said to my mom, ‘He is proud of me’, which
added to the best moments of my life. Also, our brand
was registered among several awards & accolades
which boosted our confidence too. These remarkable
moments, are indeed priceless.
07. Where do you see yourself and the company in
future? Or, what is your goal to mark the
uniqueness in future?
Our consistent efforts to escalate the brand to create a
distinct name that stands out of the crowd are
progressing. We expect the upcoming years to be more
opportunistic and positive for the market. Moreover,
with the amassing advancements, we envision the
sector to be omnipresent at the global platform by
2020. Since India’s electronic business is one of the
largest across the globe, and to subsequent this growth,
we are going to increase our sales base in different
states, since business today is all about an above
reproach mix of technology, innovation, quality and
cost. Also, viewing the dedication and commitment to
provide our customers state-of-the-art products, we
have envisioned being available in India within a span
of few months.
08. If you had one piece of advice to someone just
starting out, what would it be?
‘No matter how bad the situation gets, Never give-up’. I
have followed this ideology and I strongly believe
when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. One
should truly believe in their dreams and work towards
it to make it a reality.
09. What is the one thing that is acting as your
motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and
how the person inspires and motivates you?
Well, seeing my Father build the business
empire – ‘Videotex’ which has been steady and strong
for lass 35 years has indeed been the strongest
motivational tool. I have understood his formula to
work ‘Don’t follow success, rather let success follow
you’. He has imbibed these learnings in me, which has
helped me today stand on my own establishing the
brand Daiwa. In terms of my role model, that goes
without saying it’s my Father, who has been my only
inspiration in life.
10. Share your views on the current business scenario in
India.
India has emerged as the fastest growing major
economy in the world. There is a growing competition
in every sector leading to price sensitivity with cluster
of brands and too many changes in policies and taxes,
which has overall tainted the scenario. However, in
another 2 years we shall outgrow from this, with lot of
competition shedding off the market, that’s when the
Consumer Durables Market shall enter a new phase
and so shall India for Electronics.

The Indian economy is growing like never before,
and as it does, newer businesses and brands sprout
and make dramatic entries into an already cluttered
customer’s cone of vision. It’s become increasingly
imperative, almost hygiene, for brands to stand apart. And
consequently, branding and design companies are required
to continuously raise the bar. Business, brand and product
success depends on it more than ever before.
At the same time, the Indian talent is striving hard to be at
the forefront of innovation by outdoing international
standards alongside with addressing the ever-changing
needs of the ever-changing consumer.
Pari Purohit – Founder & Creative Director at Studio
Glyph likes to convert challenges into opportunities, to get
her hands dirty and deep dive into the guts of the brands
Glyph works with, to simply create ‘work that works’.
Driven by sheer curiosity, she’s constantly experimenting
and challenging convention, which contributes to Glyphs’
prowess and enhances the growth of clients in the long run.
Be it a brand launch, trying something on new software or
toying with a new concept, Pari stands tall to disrupt the
design universe with her courage to think differently, in
good measure. At Glyph, we don’t entertain being creative
for the sake of being creative.
Inspired by the learnings which sculpted her into an adroit
leader, Pari says, “I’ve learnt from people I’ve known,
people I’ve read about, my teachers, my past employers,
superiors, colleagues, my students, and am constantly being
inspired by my team, my peers and clients. As someone
who’s ever-curious, I’m always absorbing as much as I can
from all my interactions.”
About Studio Glyph
“We challenge our clients, and expect that they challenge
us back,” asserts the founder.
Housed in a heritage bungalow of 1929 vintage, Studio
Glyph is a multidisciplinary design company providing
creative and strategic, goal-oriented design solutions to
positively impact their client’s business. It is a boutique
agency which believes that the best output comes by
enabling its thinkers and doers to directly interact with
clients. ‘We’re selective about projects we take up, since
we’re keen to demonstrate how design makes an actual
difference to the top and bottom line of a business. How
design can solve a lot more than just covering blemishes for
a brand’ says Pari Purohit.
Acknowledging that satisfied employees are the driving
force behind the quality of work in a creative studio, Glyph
believes in enabling people, and investing their growth.
Harboring an open milieu, where new ideas are encouraged,
the company acts as devil’s advocate for its partners as well
as their clients. It helps brands and businesses in meeting
their objectives by offering strategically surgical design and
decision-making solutions through its collaborative
approach. To push the creative envelope within the
category, budgetary and changing consumer perceptions is
really where the challenge lies - And Studio Glyph has
successfully proved their mettle in this regard.
Hoots and Cheers to Achievements
Within a short span of time, Pari has knitted Studio Glyph
into a one-of-its-kind design studio. She believes that the
effective work from the studios past projects is the best
testimonial or credential. Under her aegis, the company has
proved their mettle and worked with renowned Indian and
o
international clients. Her 360 approach blended with a
solution-driven design methodology has helped the
company effectively craft brands from paper napkin
sketches and transform their business outcomes to the best.
“Our clients value us to the degree that they consult us even
after our engagement is over. That is the biggest reward for
us and proof that we made a cognizable difference,” she
adds.
A Note to Remember
Pari believes that it’s the ‘never giving up’ attitude which

industry, she advises young graduates to “Always be objective
and critical of yourself. Question everything. Absorb as much
as you can. Sharpen your powers of observation. Master your
craft. Read - Design is as visual as it is about philosophy, the
socio-economic and cultural fabric of people. It’s human.”
A long way to go
Pari is a ‘karigar’ who would never stop creating. For her,
Studio Glyph has always been her first love and will always be
her springboard for future pursuits. Speaking of her teachers,
she states “I may involve myself in academics more actively. I
think of my teachers often, and owe to them my creative
courage and thinking. I would like to pay it forward
someday.”
Pari is all set to go beyond the realm of communication &

passion and love of design is what keeps her going and

Interview with Insights Success
leading electronics company, Ambrane India Pvt.
ALtd. is focused on providing quality and innovative
products in mobile accessories category. In a
conversation with the Managing Director – Ashok
Rajpal, talks about the core strengths, along with
explaining the current trends and a piece of advice for the
budding entrepreneur. As the company has set the right
trajectory of growth and advancement for the future; let’s
take an overview on an Interview with Ashok Rajpal.
01. Kindly brief us about the inception story of
Ambrane India?
The brand started its journey in India in the Year 2012.
In the early days, we would import the products,
however seeing the future markets and understanding
the growing needs we established our own
Manufacturing unit in the Year 2014. With this, we
started our journey with an extensive portfolio of IT
Accessories which includes Power Banks, Speakers,
and Tablets. Today, the brand has achieved a significant
hold in the Market and has sold over 7 million products
at Pan India level till date.
02. Kindly talk about the journey of the CEO/Founder
and his/her initial days, success stories, and
challenges.
We started off in the time period when no one
understood the product ‘Power Banks’. The resistance
was not towards the Brand. It was on the product …we
had to grow the Market coz we knew the future outlook
and we wanted to have the first mover advantage. The
time period was extremely challenging, but we did reap
max benefits from it. Also, being the first Indian Brand
to establish a Manufacturing unit for Mobile
Accessories, established a new benchmark in the
industry. The journey for us has been exciting…and
promising. Today we are No. 1 Brand in the Power
Bank category.
03. What kind of ethics, principles, and manner of
working does he/she observe while running the
business?
For Ashok Rajpal, Discipline in business plays a very
imp role. He strongly believes that it is necessary to
instill a disciplining program in every business big or
small, in order to move forward. An effective formula
will help improve workplace performance, provide a
safe and honest environment conducive to production.
Discipline not only encourages appropriate behaviour
but also brings efficiency to the organization.
04. Share with us the accomplishments and
achievements of him/her and the company’s
achievements under his/her leadership.
The brand has been recognized today as no.1 Power
Bank Brand in India. In a very short span of time, we
have served over 10 Million+ Customers at Pan India
Level and crossed the 100 cr benchmark. Apart from
this, we were also one of the first brands in India to set
the Manufacturing unit, even before Make in India
momentum begun in India. Today, we have introduced
over 100+ products (SKUS) across categories. All
these achievements have helped the brand to elevate to
the next level.
05. Please tell us about the services you provide that
make the brand unique in the mid of cutthroat
competition.
Our strength remains “Make in India”. We are unlike
those who simply assemble the products. We have built
products, tailor-made to the needs of the market. Price

is again another key element; Ambrane products bring the new technology to users with several first timers in India.
Being the leaders in the Power Bank, we dominate the market with 15% - 20% of the category. In terms of what makes
us unique – Unique after sales service that strengthens consumer Trust towards our products, our Easy Replacement
Policies have helped us establish a positive voice against the competitors. Apart from this, we are backed up with 400+
service center across India to serve our customers to the fullest.
06. State us about the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life.
One of the most remarkable moments for me was setting up the Manufacturing unit for (Ambrane) Power Banks in India.
We were the first ones in the sector to take such a huge step. The Memories of the first machine rolling is still fresh, one
of the key milestones for the brand, making us move forward.
07. Where do you see yourself and the company in the future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in the
future?
In future, Ambrane shall see the transition from mere Mobile Accessories to smart products (IOT and AI-Based) the
evolution of products into intelligent connected devices, increasingly embedded in the broader systems, shall reshape
Ambrane’s future. We aim to establish our firm presence in Audio, IOT and smart devices category. We have already
started working on the products, and have invested in R&D/ Technology in developing and execution. We strongly
believe our USP shall be being among the early entrants which shall help us to establish a chord with the consumers. Our
ultimate goal is to build an indigenous electronics brand that makes all products in India.
08. If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
‘Take Action’ – my mantra! The world is full of great ideas, but success only comes through action. The easiest way to
get started is to quit talking and start doing. That’s true for success in every role and field. Other than this, one should
have clear goals, - Set Goals, and remind yourself each day to walk closer towards it.
09. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person
inspires and motivates you?
My inspiration has been the well very known and respected Industrialist, Mr. Ratan Tata. His attention to people and to
details, his graciousness, humility, sense of calm as well as his intellect and ability to think rationally has always inspired
me to no end. The Brand Value he has created for ‘Tata Group’ is a Case study in itself.
10. Share your views on the current business scenario in India.
India is poised to become the world’s fastest-growing major economy. New brands come up every day leading to tough
competition among all sectors. India has seen considerable growth in Mobile Accessories Market in India and Wireless
technologies shall now define the future. Manufacturers are investing heavily in R&D focussing on developing
innovative technology against the competition. The future can bring many positive changes in the Indian wireless
industry. There is a huge probability that the wireless technological standards of the Indian market will match the
international standards in the shortest period of time.
Apart from this, GST has boost competitiveness and performance in India’s manufacturing sector. Multiple indirect taxes
had also increased the administrative costs for manufacturers and distributors and with GST in place, the compliance
burden has eased and this sector will grow more strongly. Furthermore, make in India shall be the strongest road map to
respond to global challenges through preparations for world-class manufacturing status. Overall the ease of doing
business with government support shall smoothen the existing ecosystem in India.

here was a time on this Planet when human beings
Tdid not look at any screen; they just looked at the
amazing world around them.
Fast forward to today - most of us are spending more time
looking at a digital screen (smartphone, computer/ laptop,
TV, theatre, etc.) than looking at the amazing world.
Why has this happened?
Well, these screens are the windows to a virtual world. They
give us a glimpse of different realities, which may or may
not exist in the real world. And this virtual world is getting
more and more real with the birth of Virtual Reality; the
digital screen is coming to take over your eyes. So, the
window has now evolved to become a doorway to teleport
you from one reality to another.
How does it feel when you wear a VR headset?
It literally teleports you to another reality. I have showed
VR to thousands of people and every time I show it to
someone new, I get an amazing reaction. The people who
have got the chance to experience will understand and for
others I will request you to try as soon as you can. When
film came in the early 20th century, no one knew what it can
become but everyone knew that it is the future. The same
goes for Virtual Reality.
Until now, a cinema hall is one of those places where we
enter a virtual world but at times it can be annoying because
of various reasons. With Virtual Reality, you enter the story
like never before. You might become the protagonist where
you will feel and think like the Hero of the story.
Virtual Reality - A New Medium
A very early mistake that a whole lot of people make is that
they start comparing VR with the current existing mediums
and do not understand the uniqueness of VR as a medium.
The content which is considered great for VR might just not
work on any other traditional medium and vice versa. The
rules of VR are yet to be written.
Since, it’s a new medium VR is all about innovation,
creativity, experimenting, failing and learning what works
and what doesn’t. We need to focus on the process and
enjoy every bit of it.
When I was in school and even in college, I never thought I
would become an entrepreneur but when I look back, I see
that it was creativity initially and later innovation which
lead me to become an entrepreneur.
The path of entrepreneurship is tough, but when you start
for the right reasons, you can go through the tough times
blissfully. When you have the passion and perseverance, the
journey becomes blissful. Your work should help you reach
the state of bliss, not the state of stress.

Communication Designer & Founder
TRIP Creative Services
|June 2019|38
Brief us about the Founder/CEO of the company. What
kind of ethics, principles, and manner of working does
he/she observe while running the business?
Animation has been the first love for Prateek. Ever since he
was 7, Prateek would convert the walls of his room into a
canvas and draw freehand cartoons with fantastical themes.
It was only a matter of time before all the engineering
courses were shunned for a 5-year animation course at NID,
working with various TV networks and Production Houses,
which consequently led to him forming Trip Creative
services in 2009. Prateek has set some tough standards not
only for himself but also for his crew. New techniques of
storytelling which involve the current tech advances along
with attention to detail are critical design philosophies at
Trip. This coupled with a deep effort to understand the
client's needs today and possibly in the future also form a
large part of thinking through any project.
The organization is a tight-knit team and has very few rules,
the most important of them, is to never miss a deadline. We
are upfront on the possibilities with the clients and for that
honesty and commitment they return.
Share with us the accomplishments and achievements of
him/her and the company’s achievements under her
leadership.

of any project, our work speaks for itself.
State us about the most memorable and remarkable
moments of your life.
I fought, survived and overcame cancer as a teen. That for
me was an epic learning experience on human emotions,
time management and most importantly the meaning of
family and friends!
Where do you see yourself and the company in the
future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in
the future?
I am an explorer. The new excites me, the old fascinates
me, the present captivates me and the future makes me
smile. I am a Communication Designer and creative
entrepreneur. I provide a vision, direct movement and
experiences, help people communicate, but most of all
make ideas come to life.
Have you seen the future? Neither have I. We plan for it, we
work towards it.
Which is what makes it so remarkable. Technology with a
human touch is where creativity and science form a melting
pot of possibilities.
If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting
out, what would it be?
The greatest designs have been painfully simple. They feel
as if they always existed, waiting for someone to find them.
Design as you would want to live your life. Clutter-free, on
point and fun. Always believe in your inner gut feeling and
don’t waste time. Just get on with it!
What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational
tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person
inspires and motivates you?
I love every day as a gift. The thought of a fresh day brings
about the immense “new”, is what motivates me. My family
has always been my inspiration.
Share your views on the current business scenario in
India.
India is growing in all perspectives related to the creative
field. It is a fast developing country which is learning
quickly. We are evolving our techniques and methods at par
with design-forward countries. Implementation is a whole
different story. But as they say, business is not fun unless
it’s cutthroat, so there is a lot of healthy competition
amongst the very talented designers, creatives, agencies,
clients and that has always been fun.
Entrepreneurial Mindset
Success according to me (Prateek)
is- making sure you are personally
happy and in turn, the people
around you are happy as well and
what you are doing is bringing
about a positive change in this
world and for our planet
“
“
“I love my team. They are creative, dedicated and hard
working. An organization is only as good as all its
members in unison. My team has been fantastic and for
that, I am very grateful.” says Prateek.

  • 5. From the Editor ntrepreneurship’ –a word is buzzing everywhere nowadays, and, Ethe word is no longer captive in this world. According to the renowned industry reports, in the year 1723, the French word entrepreneur first appeared in their dictionary, to describe a person who organizes and operates a business by taking a financial risk. Since then, the word –Entrepreneur –and the world –has changed completely and still continuing to do so. Today, the word – Entrepreneurship is celebrated like anything before and defined in so many ways. Many businesses are strongly growing these days and booming in the 21st century. Creativity, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking are the key factors for spurring success. To build successful businesses require a number of organizational, e cient, and systematic entrepreneurial actions. In addition to the acquisition and the successful use of resources, especially identifying new ideas and converting them into a viable business model, creative entrepreneurs play an important role in the company's success. Creative entrepreneurs are the one who actually brings unconventional ideas to the table. They are the one who bridges the gap between creative genius and a traditional business approach. Many people think creativity and entrepreneurship don’t go hand-in- hand. But, what I personally think is that creativity is a basic element for every entrepreneur. It is something that has become closely associated with entrepreneurs. Creativity doesn’t mean coming up with only ideas. But, it means one must be able to adapt new circumstances, negative uncertainty, and finding solutions as the problem arises. And, whenever applied to a problem, creativity is unbeatable. Creative Entrepreneurship could simply be the solution for the economic problems of today’s world; and, it’s all about pushing to the fullest potential and never settling. Entrepreneurship brings the most innovative and exciting ideas to reality. Though, it is a process that can be made even more successful with creative thinking. Creativity and entrepreneurship are intricately related and complement each other to the core. As both are important to each other; one cannot guarantee success without the other. Fostering Creativity ‘ Shruti P. Jambhale

  • 8. rom the recent past, the definition of “Business” can be summed up as “to fulfil the customers’needs and F st desires, providing goods and services through a particular business”. But, today, in this 21 century this basic concept alone won’t fly, it’s because customers are looking out for the spectacular solutions. Thus, creativity, innovation, and out-of-the-box have become the elementary factors driving success. Keeping in mind, that ‘ideas rule the world’, and it has never been truer than it is today, a time when ‘wild ideas’ seem to be making up the lion’s share of all ideas. This month, Insights Success has come up with the special issue “The 10 Most Creative Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2019”. Here, we have tried to focus on the very creative entrepreneurs and their company’s portfolios with unique solutions. Some of the below mentioned creative entrepreneurs in India have grabbed our attention most to become the most creative entrepreneurs in this edition. On the Cover of the magazine, we have featured the very special story of Glass Artist, Moiz Arsiwala, the Founder of Isra Glass, who achieved his dreams after going through life’s refinery. Isra Glass is a leading company in the decorative glass art segment with unique innovations in Glass, and ideas and methods. We have also focused on different companies with their creative core person those have come up with most unique solutions, and thus chosen, Prafull Gade is COO & Managing Director of Deluxe India, Pune as ‘Company of the Month’. Deluxe offers end-to-end services and technology, from creation to distribution, for the global moving pictures industry. Apart from this, we have preferred creative entrepreneurs Pari Purohit, the Founder at Studio Glyph likes to convert challenges into opportunities, to get her hands dirty and deep dive into the guts of the brands Glyph works with, to simply create ‘work that works’; and Shefali Desai, the Founder at BASE 501 is a multidisciplinary Artist / Designer. With her substantial experience in Fine Arts, Strategic Design Thinking, and Design Management, Shefali breathes life into brands by detailing them out with the love that life itself encompasses within it. Alongside, the creative entrepreneurs with their companies like Akshay Heranjal, the Co-founder and Principal Architect at The Purple Ink Studio, Anirudh Goutham, the Founder at Morph Digital Solutions Private Limited, Girish Ahirwar, the Chief Business Officer at TAGBIN have also been featured in the listing of “The 10 Most Creative Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2019”. Along with this, we have an exclusive ‘Interview with Insights Success’. Here, Arjun Bajaj, the CEO of Daiwa; Ashok Rajpal, the Managing Director at Ambrane India Pvt Ltd.; Prateek A Sethi, the Founder of Trip Creative Services; have shared some insightful answers highlighting the influences made by their firm, service offerings, winning honours, current and future perceptions. • 10. Moiz Arsiwala COVER STORY A Diligent Glass Sculptor whose passion is Glass Art
  • 12. G lass, though fragile is fascinating to look at! History of glass-making dates back to the ancient Mesopotamia, some 3600 years ago. It was then extensively popularized and developed in Egypt and Assyria as a decorative and functional element. It was used to make beads, jewellery and fine dining pieces and more. In the middle ages, the art of using glass or Glass Art took new shape. The Norman and Gothic Cathedrals in Europe used stained glasses as a major architectural and decorative element to accentuate the beauty of these Cathedrals. Glass from Murano, Venetia, known as just Venetian Glass, is a result of years of continuous experiments, refinements and defines glass in its full glory. The early 19th century saw the old art glass movement at its peak with great Studios or Ateliers like Tiffany, Lalique, Daum and Galle taking it to new levels. Hardwork and Persistence Personified To give glass its defining or creative form, it must go through extremities that shape and design it. These high temperatures and pressure might be extreme but it helps glass to come out in its glorious form. Similar is the story of Glass Artist, Moiz Arsiwala who achieved his dreams after going through life’s refinery. He is what the world describes as a creative person - ambitious, experimenter, learner, risk taker, rule-breaker and above all hard worker. And like many artists, he too has an inspiration or muse – Glass. Moiz’s love for glass started as a child. His family was associated with glass and it works for 85 years in Mumbai. A change of place brought a change in lives. They shifted to Bangalore and his father left the ancestral work. Moiz, who had developed a fascination with glass, kept asking his father to start afresh, but his father insisted on him having a formal education first. Years changed, and so did Moiz’s qualification, but what did not change was his passion for glass. At the crossroads, to start a corporate job as per his father’s wish, or choose glass art as per his wish, Moiz did sit for several interviews. But deep inside, he knew, he was not going to work under anyone. He was meant to lead, create, innovate, try, experiment, and was sure to work hard for it. His perseverance won over his father who agreed but suggested him to get some experience first. Moiz approached a school in Istanbul, Turkey which was going to have a course in Glass Sculpting by Vladimir Klein. Thus, life took an interesting turn for him. Istanbul – An Artist’s Delight Moiz describes Istanbul as a city of art and a place which gave him life’s best experience. He took all that the city had to offer. He learnt the techniques of seeing the glass differently, working on it differently, have a keen eye on the perfection of the final finishing and more. His first sculpture was a Qibla inspired from Al Jame Al Azhar Masjid in Cairo, Egypt (which coincidentally is the first masjid to be made in Cairo), and wished to present it to His Holiness – Late Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb, TUS. And he did it, the piece was presented and in return, he was bestowed with a lifetime of blessings, which Moiz says, “I can feel and experience on a daily basis.” He then joined a Glass Industry in Nagpur to learn the tricks and the trade and whatever he could about general glass and how the glass system in general, functions. Yet, that was not what he wanted to do eventually. Moiz adds, “I wanted to do something different, and something which I would enjoy working on.” Isra – The Fateful Journey Isra is the Night Journey that the Prophet took to the heavens and is said to have met Allah. Isra is thus the symbolic journey that one takes to realize their goal and dreams. For Moiz, the word describes the culmination point of his journey so far. All his hard work, learning, passion, transpired into Isra Glass, his own company, his baby!
  • 13. Initially, he just started by taking orders of any type of glass, got the job done from other vendors, and supplied the glass. But, he wanted to do something more, something different. The skill which he had learnt in Istanbul, was not getting utilized in this kind of market. He says, “I guess there was no place for art, and I realized people don’t appreciate art, because good glass art, is expensive, and people would not spend on glass art just for keeping in a showcase.” After a few months, he came across a material which was solid glass pillars and columns, and it immediately struck him, that this material is fancy, it is artistic, and it has a utility. While his well-wishers advised him to abstain from trying something different, Moiz wanted to give it a try. A simple hand machine, small go-down and lots of self-belief saw him cut the solid glass pillar and transform it into a piece of art. He went to shops of other glass dealers, informed them and promoted this customization and artistry. Word spread, the popularity of the art increased, and Isra was flooded with orders. Moiz now needed hands, to cope up to fulfil of same day and 24-hour delivery commitment. He then started training a team and showed them the quality of the end result which must be achieved. Slowly and steadily, Moiz and Isra Glass had found their ground. The Exclusive Products Isra Glass has five products under its brand. • Vetropole Glass Pillars: Beautiful, decorative glass pillars used mainly as dividers or room partitions in homes. They are also customizable to create staircase balusters, table legs, handles, ceiling art, staircase landings, mementoes and innumerable possibilities. A coloured LED light when placed on top or bottom of the pillar, lights up the tiny bubbles in the pillar with the colour of the light, giving an impression of bubbles suspended in a liquid and making them mesmerizing. • Coralli Blown Glass Art: The Coralli range of hand blown glass art is a unique collection of decorative pieces that when grouped together & indirectly lit from the front or sides, add special energy of natural design into space. Purely a luxury product, it comes in a variety of shapes and forms with a range of features and in seven unique types. Touch: A touch on the mirror will illuminate the design within the mirror Demist: A feature for steam free mirrors Punctual: A LED clock built into the mirror Jazz: A Bluetooth enabled feature to pair any device and play favorite tracks Connect: A feature which has all of the above and with a small screenshowing calendar, FM, USB and answering calls from the mirror. Infinity: A décor mirror with an 3D illusion of infinity Mini: A portable vanity mirror which doubles as a table lamp • MoizArt Hand Crafted Glass: The glass which is handcrafted, or made by Moiz personally, is sold with MoizArt branding. He says, “A lot of glass, mirrors, paperweights, mementoes are made by me. This is the art I enjoy the most since I make it personally and take the orders one at a time. There is actually a wait list for the work I carry out since each art piece is created differently.” The Industry – Challenges and Promises Moiz believes that one must enter an industry with full conviction and not as a half-hearted attempt. His business is defined by his passion and it pains him to see people being in the Glass Industry just for the sake of it. They have no knowledge of glass and are dependent on others for surviving. This hurts the overall market most, since such businesses don’t value the art, and just sell glass art as a product. As long as their other mainstream sales are ticking, they sell glass art at an averaged out price, which most of the times is under cost for mainstream glass businesses. Moiz says, “Business should maintain, continue and expand in their mainstream businesses, or have an ethical way of valuing the art, by doing a thorough research of what the art demands, and how it would be valued in the eyes of the customer.” And this is exactly what he advises the young in the business. He tells them that business is very satisfying, and even more satisfying if performed with utmost sincerity, being passionate about the product you are trading with, and ethics. He reminds them, “Do not get attracted to short term gains. They are short term for a reason. The slower you grow, the stronger will be the foundation.”
  • 15. He also shares his experience as an entrepreneur. He feels that challenges are part of the journey for any Entrepreneur. Be it things like skilled labour, logistics, administration, marketing or sales, there are challenges. But as an Entrepreneur, there is a roleplay in every department. The lesser one depends on others, the more involved one will be, and the more involved one is, the more one can overcome challenges. Crafting the Future Roads Moiz’s aim is to provide good quality glass solutions in Hotels and resorts, with regards to either Vetropole, or the Luminorra LED Mirrors. His eventual goal is to go global by 2020. Isra Glass is already exporting occasionally to countries like Australia, UAE, Africa, etc. and he would like to streamline the sales and communication channel and venture out more. Moiz prefers doing business being connected to his end clientele. Looking forward to the future, he adds, “I don’t want to drastically expand in a way where I would be dependent on others to attend to my clients. Hence I keep looking out for great tools, and automation machines to enhance the quality of workmanship and shorten delivery time, so that I would get time to attend my clients, and more time creating and innovating too.”
  • 16. “Whatever I am today is because of my father. He trusted me and allowed me to take decisions for my company, on my own. I learnt a lot from small important mistakes to avoid big mistakes in the future. His guidance and support on a day to day basis is immeasurable in my life. His experiences, lessons and historic quotes sail me through many day to day tasks and tough decisions.” Thank you & Gratitude:

  • 28. elieving in creating his own roadmaps, Arjun BBajaj, the CEO & Founder of Daiwa India is one of the zealous entrepreneur who refurnished the company as one of India’s largest business. In an interview with Insights Success, Arjun Bajaj have shared some insightful views and highlighted the influences made by their company to be the most recommended law solution provider. 01. Kindly brief us about the inception story of DAIWA? Daiwa began its journey in the year 2016 on the pathway to sync the ongoing problem in the TV Industry. We realized that the TV Market was going through a very troubled time period, wherein most of the brands were sourcing final products from China and assembling in India and calling it ‘Make in India’ and lacked implementation, which is where we felt the need to build a brand which truly resonates the ‘Make in India’ philosophy not only in terms of its design and performance but also functionalities designed as per the needs of the audience. Daiwa comes from the parent company Videotex a popular ODM brand which has been in the Industry for over 35 Years. Today Daiwa, brings the complete back end integration for manufacturing LED TV’s in India and are currently having a capacity of manufacturing 75000 in a month and are further planning to invest more in factories. Today Daiwa, is reckoned among top 10 TV Brands in India, and has established a very strong foothold, at Pan India Level. 02. Kindly talk about the journey of the CEO/Founder and his/her initial days, success stories, and challenges. Even though Daiwa is backed by 35 years old parent company Videotex (a leading ODM of LED TVs) the journey has not been smooth sailing, rather has, had its own share of challenges too. In the initial days, had a One-man army functioning being a startup. Right from the cataloging to designs to order processing to dispatches and after sales service everything was managed by Arjun himself. With his hardship and immense faith, today Daiwa has a very strong team of over 100+ people, governing the functioning of the Brand. The other aspect being, the brand faced lot of resistance from the Market inspite of being quality and best priced, it was difficult to move sale, since it was much unknown to the end user. Overall that made it quite difficult to establish alliances with the online partners. Over a period of time, our products drove the strong word of mouth, and Daiwa as a brand saw acceptance in the Indian Markets. Today Daiwa sells its products in all leading retail stores and online portals, not just that it also sells units from its own website. The journey has been exciting, but extremely challenging considering the ongoing situation of the Indian Consumer Durables market as well. 03. What kind of ethics, principles and manner of working does he/she observes while running the business? For me, Honesty is a key characteristic of a business because it has helped me set the tone for the kind of work culture we have established at Daiwa. It has helped us provide consistency in workplace behaviour, and build loyalty and trust in customers and prospects. Apart from this, Arjun is highly punctual and strongly believes in Transparency in any operations. 04. Share with us the accomplishments and achievements of him/her and the company’s achievements under his/her leadership. Arjun does not believe in blowing his own trumpet. Some key accomplishments which he calls value adds in his Journey includes; Successfully launched 2 Brands in 3 Years and have been nominated for the several award categories when it comes to the product Arjun BajajShowcasing the Perfect Example of Entrepreneurship Exclusive Interview with Insights Success |June 2019|26

Another achievement is innovation of 4k UHD Quantum Luminit TV, which created a huge buzz for our brand in the market, since it was a First Timer to India. These milestones have overall, contributed to the value and business of the organization. 05. Please tell us about the services you provide that makes the brand unique in the mid of cut throat competition. Daiwa has always focused on building the latest in technology at most prudent prices, exclusive to the Indian markets. In terms of the uniqueness, its two-fold, balancing both the Products and services. Among products, we have brought several new technologies in India which includes Wide Color Gamut to Pictures, Tailoring the speakers as per the Indian needs, Unique remote with direct app keys and keyboard with easy surf on Smart TVs, balancing voltage fluctuations for TV as per Indian power conditions etc. Our Goal has always been to go the extra mile in terms of the deliverables to the consumers. We do not want to follow the stereotyped industry, and each one of our products resonates the same viewpoint. Among services too, we have gone a step ahead and launched our own Daiwa App, a service app which allows customer interface 24x7, which got us phenomenal response. Apart from this, our additional product Warranty too has established consumer confidence on Daiwa products. We promise to provide value for money to customer in addition to best in class technology. Daiwa’s main objective is to break the myth that the finest products only comes at a hefty price. 06. State us about the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life. The most remarkable moment for me was when my father said to my mom, ‘He is proud of me’, which added to the best moments of my life. Also, our brand was registered among several awards & accolades which boosted our confidence too. These remarkable moments, are indeed priceless. 07. Where do you see yourself and the company in future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in future? Our consistent efforts to escalate the brand to create a distinct name that stands out of the crowd are progressing. We expect the upcoming years to be more opportunistic and positive for the market. Moreover, with the amassing advancements, we envision the sector to be omnipresent at the global platform by 2020. Since India’s electronic business is one of the largest across the globe, and to subsequent this growth, we are going to increase our sales base in different states, since business today is all about an above reproach mix of technology, innovation, quality and cost. Also, viewing the dedication and commitment to provide our customers state-of-the-art products, we have envisioned being available in India within a span of few months. 08. If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? ‘No matter how bad the situation gets, Never give-up’. I have followed this ideology and I strongly believe when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. One should truly believe in their dreams and work towards it to make it a reality. 09. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person inspires and motivates you? Well, seeing my Father build the business empire – ‘Videotex’ which has been steady and strong for lass 35 years has indeed been the strongest motivational tool. I have understood his formula to work ‘Don’t follow success, rather let success follow you’. He has imbibed these learnings in me, which has helped me today stand on my own establishing the brand Daiwa. In terms of my role model, that goes without saying it’s my Father, who has been my only inspiration in life. 10. Share your views on the current business scenario in India. India has emerged as the fastest growing major economy in the world. There is a growing competition in every sector leading to price sensitivity with cluster of brands and too many changes in policies and taxes, which has overall tainted the scenario. However, in another 2 years we shall outgrow from this, with lot of competition shedding off the market, that’s when the Consumer Durables Market shall enter a new phase and so shall India for Electronics. |June 2019|28

Today, the brand has achieved a significant hold in the Market and has sold over 7 million products at Pan India level till date. 02. Kindly talk about the journey of the CEO/Founder and his/her initial days, success stories, and challenges. We started off in the time period when no one understood the product ‘Power Banks’. The resistance was not towards the Brand. It was on the product …we had to grow the Market coz we knew the future outlook and we wanted to have the first mover advantage. The time period was extremely challenging, but we did reap max benefits from it. Also, being the first Indian Brand to establish a Manufacturing unit for Mobile Accessories, established a new benchmark in the industry. The journey for us has been exciting…and promising. Today we are No. 1 Brand in the Power Bank category. 03. What kind of ethics, principles, and manner of working does he/she observe while running the business? For Ashok Rajpal, Discipline in business plays a very imp role. He strongly believes that it is necessary to instill a disciplining program in every business big or small, in order to move forward. An effective formula will help improve workplace performance, provide a safe and honest environment conducive to production. Discipline not only encourages appropriate behaviour but also brings efficiency to the organization. 04. Share with us the accomplishments and achievements of him/her and the company’s achievements under his/her leadership. The brand has been recognized today as no.1 Power Bank Brand in India. In a very short span of time, we have served over 10 Million+ Customers at Pan India Level and crossed the 100 cr benchmark. Apart from this, we were also one of the first brands in India to set the Manufacturing unit, even before Make in India momentum begun in India. Today, we have introduced over 100+ products (SKUS) across categories. All these achievements have helped the brand to elevate to the next level. 05. Please tell us about the services you provide that make the brand unique in the mid of cutthroat competition. Our strength remains “Make in India”. We are unlike those who simply assemble the products. We have built products, tailor-made to the needs of the market. Price |June 2019| 33
  • 36. is again another key element; Ambrane products bring the new technology to users with several first timers in India. Being the leaders in the Power Bank, we dominate the market with 15% - 20% of the category. In terms of what makes us unique – Unique after sales service that strengthens consumer Trust towards our products, our Easy Replacement Policies have helped us establish a positive voice against the competitors. Apart from this, we are backed up with 400+ service center across India to serve our customers to the fullest. 06. State us about the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life. One of the most remarkable moments for me was setting up the Manufacturing unit for (Ambrane) Power Banks in India. We were the first ones in the sector to take such a huge step. The Memories of the first machine rolling is still fresh, one of the key milestones for the brand, making us move forward. 07. Where do you see yourself and the company in the future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in the future? In future, Ambrane shall see the transition from mere Mobile Accessories to smart products (IOT and AI-Based) the evolution of products into intelligent connected devices, increasingly embedded in the broader systems, shall reshape Ambrane’s future. We aim to establish our firm presence in Audio, IOT and smart devices category. We have already started working on the products, and have invested in R&D/ Technology in developing and execution. We strongly believe our USP shall be being among the early entrants which shall help us to establish a chord with the consumers. Our ultimate goal is to build an indigenous electronics brand that makes all products in India. 08. If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? ‘Take Action’ – my mantra! The world is full of great ideas, but success only comes through action. The easiest way to get started is to quit talking and start doing. That’s true for success in every role and field. Other than this, one should have clear goals, - Set Goals, and remind yourself each day to walk closer towards it. 09. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person inspires and motivates you? My inspiration has been the well very known and respected Industrialist, Mr. Ratan Tata. His attention to people and to details, his graciousness, humility, sense of calm as well as his intellect and ability to think rationally has always inspired me to no end. The Brand Value he has created for ‘Tata Group’ is a Case study in itself. 10. Share your views on the current business scenario in India. India is poised to become the world’s fastest-growing major economy. New brands come up every day leading to tough competition among all sectors. India has seen considerable growth in Mobile Accessories Market in India and Wireless technologies shall now define the future. Manufacturers are investing heavily in R&D focussing on developing innovative technology against the competition. The future can bring many positive changes in the Indian wireless industry. There is a huge probability that the wireless technological standards of the Indian market will match the international standards in the shortest period of time. Apart from this, GST has boost competitiveness and performance in India’s manufacturing sector. Multiple indirect taxes had also increased the administrative costs for manufacturers and distributors and with GST in place, the compliance burden has eased and this sector will grow more strongly. Furthermore, make in India shall be the strongest road map to respond to global challenges through preparations for world-class manufacturing status. Overall the ease of doing business with government support shall smoothen the existing ecosystem in India. |June 2019|34

  • 38. here was a time on this Planet when human beings Tdid not look at any screen; they just looked at the amazing world around them. Fast forward to today - most of us are spending more time looking at a digital screen (smartphone, computer/ laptop, TV, theatre, etc.) than looking at the amazing world. Why has this happened? Well, these screens are the windows to a virtual world. They give us a glimpse of different realities, which may or may not exist in the real world. And this virtual world is getting more and more real with the birth of Virtual Reality; the digital screen is coming to take over your eyes. So, the window has now evolved to become a doorway to teleport you from one reality to another. How does it feel when you wear a VR headset? It literally teleports you to another reality. I have showed VR to thousands of people and every time I show it to someone new, I get an amazing reaction. The people who have got the chance to experience will understand and for others I will request you to try as soon as you can. When film came in the early 20th century, no one knew what it can become but everyone knew that it is the future. The same goes for Virtual Reality. Until now, a cinema hall is one of those places where we enter a virtual world but at times it can be annoying because of various reasons. With Virtual Reality, you enter the story like never before. You might become the protagonist where you will feel and think like the Hero of the story. Virtual Reality - A New Medium A very early mistake that a whole lot of people make is that they start comparing VR with the current existing mediums and do not understand the uniqueness of VR as a medium. The content which is considered great for VR might just not work on any other traditional medium and vice versa. The rules of VR are yet to be written. Since, it’s a new medium VR is all about innovation, creativity, experimenting, failing and learning what works and what doesn’t. We need to focus on the process and enjoy every bit of it. When I was in school and even in college, I never thought I would become an entrepreneur but when I look back, I see that it was creativity initially and later innovation which lead me to become an entrepreneur. The path of entrepreneurship is tough, but when you start for the right reasons, you can go through the tough times blissfully. When you have the passion and perseverance, the journey becomes blissful. Your work should help you reach the state of bliss, not the state of stress. • 41. Brief us about the Founder/CEO of the company. What kind of ethics, principles, and manner of working does he/she observe while running the business? Animation has been the first love for Prateek. Ever since he was 7, Prateek would convert the walls of his room into a canvas and draw freehand cartoons with fantastical themes. It was only a matter of time before all the engineering courses were shunned for a 5-year animation course at NID, working with various TV networks and Production Houses, which consequently led to him forming Trip Creative services in 2009. Prateek has set some tough standards not only for himself but also for his crew. New techniques of storytelling which involve the current tech advances along with attention to detail are critical design philosophies at Trip. This coupled with a deep effort to understand the client's needs today and possibly in the future also form a large part of thinking through any project. The organization is a tight-knit team and has very few rules, the most important of them, is to never miss a deadline. Our motto is to provide the best services possible for the bracket and working tirelessly to make sure our patrons are more than just satisfied. For this specific reason, given the constraints of any project, our work speaks for itself. State us about the most memorable and remarkable moments of your life. I fought, survived and overcame cancer as a teen. That for me was an epic learning experience on human emotions, time management and most importantly the meaning of family and friends! Where do you see yourself and the company in the future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in the future? I am an explorer. The new excites me, the old fascinates me, the present captivates me and the future makes me smile. I am a Communication Designer and creative entrepreneur. I provide a vision, direct movement and experiences, help people communicate, but most of all make ideas come to life. Have you seen the future? Neither have I. We plan for it, we work towards it. Which is what makes it so remarkable. Technology with a human touch is where creativity and science form a melting pot of possibilities. If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? The greatest designs have been painfully simple. They feel as if they always existed, waiting for someone to find them. Design as you would want to live your life. Clutter-free, on point and fun. Always believe in your inner gut feeling and don’t waste time. Just get on with it! What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person inspires and motivates you? I love every day as a gift. The thought of a fresh day brings about the immense “new”, is what motivates me. My family has always been my inspiration. Share your views on the current business scenario in India. India is growing in all perspectives related to the creative field. It is a fast developing country which is learning quickly. We are evolving our techniques and methods at par with design-forward countries. Implementation is a whole different story. But as they say, business is not fun unless it’s cutthroat, so there is a lot of healthy competition amongst the very talented designers, creatives, agencies, clients and that has always been fun. Entrepreneurial Mindset Success according to me (Prateek) is- making sure you are personally happy and in turn, the people around you are happy as well and what you are doing is bringing about a positive change in this world and for our planet “ “ “I love my team. They are creative, dedicated and hard working. An organization is only as good as all its members in unison. My team has been fantastic and for that, I am very grateful.” says Prateek. |June 2019|40
