Imperial College Healthcare Charity is raising £1million to help improve facilities at the major trauma centre-including bringing in specialist youth workers from the charity Redthread to help guide vulnerable young people towards safer lifestyles £870,924 Spent on youth violence cases at St Mary's major trauma centre 2012-2013 £39,000 Highest cost of a treated trauma patient in 2012-2013 Dr Asif Rahman, consultant in adult and paediatric emergency medicine: "It’s about forming that bridge from the hospital to the community, so that when these young people leave the hospital, they stick with these programmes and hopefully don’t come back."
