I’m an ardent, committed, methodical and highly motivated individual with the ability and passion to
deliver results in everything I do. I’m currently studying for a degree in BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, and a
graduate of HNC in Construction and The Built Environment. With my previous surveying/supervisor
experiences, plus 28 years’ experience in the Construction Industry, working throughout the UK, I am now
pursuing to advance my career in supervisory/surveying or construction management role. Being an
ambitious, diligent person with flexible attitude, coupled with my experience with many trades has allowed
me to be successful in every role I have held.

2015 – Present Universityof Wolverhampton BSc (Hons) Building Surveying
 Currently studying for my degree, which is giving me the knowledge and
transferable skills for me to advance my career in building surveying or
construction management.

 HNC in Construction and Built Environment (Merit)
 I was praised by the lecturers for my leadership skills in the group project, and
receiving a higher grade than the others in the group.
 The Group Project I lead the delivery of the presentation, and it gave me
opportunity to display my skills in AutoCAD.

 City & Guilds Carpentry and Joinery
1981 – 1986 Willingsworth High School
 8 CSE’s (grade 1 – 4) including Maths and English

 Carry out property Inspections, provide cover for Supervisors, organise and
supervise remedial works and contractors, survey properties and record

2004 – 2011 GPurchase Construction – Self Employed Carpenter
 Working from plans to complete work to the Company’s high standards, and
to deadlines.
 Working throughout the UK on their sites for long periods.
 Keeping up the Company’s high safety record.
 Proficient in all types of plant.
 Having the ability to work under my own initiative, or working as a team
member.
 Liaising with Management and clients to solve any issues which may have
arisen.
2003 – 2004 Folkes Holdings Ltd – Assistant Building Surveyor
 Assist the Senior Building Surveyor to maintain and survey the company’s
commercial portfolio, organise materials, cyclical and reactive maintenance.
 Attend company meetings
 Liaise with clients and contractors to resolve issues.
 Ensuring the work was carried out and maintaining high safety standards, and
work is in compliance with Building Regulations.
2001 – 2003 Response Maintenance Ltd – Site Foreman/ Carpenter
 Achieved position of site foreman, taking control of the void properties and
organising repairs, materials and Trades to the program of works, and
completing within the deadlines.
 Liaise with management and attend meetings with clients.
 Carry out inspections and building reports to clients housing stock.
 Carry out the emergency out of hours’ duties.
 Working in a team or on my own initiative and developed good
communication skills whilst in the position of Site Foreman.
1996 – 2001 Sandwell M.B.C. – Multi Skilled Carpenter
 To carry out repairs across the borough including Multi skilled tasks, such as
plastering, plumbing, wall and floor tiling, and minor bricklaying.
 Arranging workloads and completing to deadlines
 Working as a team or on my own initiative.
 Liaise with management and tenants.
1991 – 1996 British Rail – Bridge Examiner/ Carpenter
 Achieved the position of Bridge Examiner, carrying out conditional surveys of
the structures within the industry, report writing, organise any structural
repairs, supervise trades, taking possession of the track and train movements
between sites.

1987 – 1991 Sandwell M.B.C. – Apprentice/Carpenter
 I started my work under the supervision of a mentor, attending the properties
around the borough carrying out repairs required.
 At 18 years old achieving Grades and position as a Carpenter, carrying out the
necessary repairs without supervision.

 Graduate HNC Construction and the Built Environment. (Merit)
 Proficient user of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and working
knowledge of publisher.
 Full clean driving licence and own transport.
