PERSONAL PROFILE
With over 20 years transport and government body experience, Ian brings strong
team working and networking experience, gained through roles in both city authority
planning and the transport industry. Skill sets range from strategic policy and
financial analysis to project management, commercial management, and large
strategic procurements.
Ian received all his tertiary education in New Zealand and following this gained a
considerable amount of work experience before travelling to the U.K. During his time
in the U.K. he diversified into transport strategy, commercial, infrastructure,
procurement and transport experience.

NEW ZEALAND TRANSPORT AGENCY AND COLLABORATION PARTNERS
Senior Transport Planner (Contractor) – November 2015 to current
Transport Planner leading the Tauriko programme business case seeking $350M to
$600M of co-investment for the Tauriko transport network over a 30 year
investment period.
Tauranga Programme business case (transport) as a collaborative effort between
the New Zealand Transport Agency, Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty
District Council, SmartGrowth and other stakeholders including the Port of
Tauranga. Developing a programme to support economic and urban growth,
address car dependency and support healthy, safe travel choices.
AUCKLAND TRANSPORT
Program Manager – Rail Operations Tender – Dec 2013 – October 2015
Option appraisal for the and delivery of the Auckland Passenger Rail Services;
Preparation for AT and Endorsement by the Transport Agency for the Passenger
Rail Services Procurement Strategy;
Program management for the AT Passenger Rail Operations Contract. Alignment
to the Transport Agency Public Transport Operating Model (PTOM) for Rail
