I am a freelance radio presenter and soon-to-graduate mature student. I have been providing on-air cover
for the lastcouple of years for commercial stations in the North West and I recently featured in The Guardian
as part of The Bay’s on air team during their coverage of the floods in December 2015. I also produce The
Bay’s livesport show and often manage socialmedia output. I am familiarwith software suchas RCS, Myriad,
Dalet and Adobe Audition. I recently produced my first advert for a local business on The Bay.
Broadcasting was reduced to a couple of blokes and MP Cat Smith in a storeroom,
coordinating travel news and free food distribution. Indispensable.
The Bay (2014 - Present) Presenter/Producer
I provide on-air cover for live and voice tracked
shows for the most listened to station in North
Lancashire and South Cumbria. I recently
presented the live evening show, from a makeshift
studio in the week following the floods in
Lancashire. The station featured in The Guardian,
on BBC Radio 4, Channel 4 and received a
parliamentary motion for continuing to broadcast
after the studios were flooded and without power.
Lakeland Radio (2015 - Present) Presenter
Lakeland Radio is owned by the same group as The
Bay, with a 36% listener reach. I often cover live
shows for presenter holidays and provide on-air
cover for sickness, normally at short notice.
Radio Aire (2015) Present and Produce
I completed the Bauer Academy ‘Present and
Produce’ course with Ant Arthur in Leeds. The
course included sessions onstudio skills,preparing
links and producing a show. Ant has expressed an
interest in me presenting a regional networked
show, replacing the current national networked
show.
Key 103 (2015) Advanced Presenting
I completed the Bauer Academy ‘Advanced
Presenting’ course with AlexJames in Manchester.
The course included sessions on travel news,
interview skills and live reads.
Frequency Radio (2013 - 2015) Presenter/Producer
I presented and produced an afternoon show on
student radio, developing features and booking
guests. I also produced jingles and sweepers for
the show and for the station.
BBC Radio Lancashire (2016) TBC
I have been offered a two-week work placement
with BBC Radio Lancashire in February 2016.
Rock FM (2014 - 2015) Street Team
I have been part of the promotions team at Rock
FM, setting up and working backstage at station
and client events as well as taking photographs for
social media and the station website.
Carnforth/Morecambe Carnival (2015) Stage Tech
I was responsible for the main stageaudio playout,
including backing tracks for artists such as 911,
Shayne Ward, Jai McDowell, Jermaine Jackman
and Stereo Kicks.
Nine Lives Media (2015) Office Runner
I acted as an office runner and researcher for
Channel 5 documentary; ‘Holiday Love Rats’
undertaking admin work for executive producer
and CEO.
PStv (2014 - 2015) Head of Original Content
I developed new shows for student TV channel,
produced, filmed and edited interfaith video for
NUS and was part of the events team for 2015
