Project description: Person re-identification (person re-ID) plays an important role for public safety and has
application in various tasks such as, human retrieval, human tracking, and activity analysis. In this work, we
propose a new network architecture called Hierarchical Cross Network to perform person re-ID which
outperformed several state-of-the-art methods.
• Intermediate Inception Network for Person Re-identification
Project description: The idea of Inception modules is to make cross-channel correlations and spatial correlations
easier. To make this process to an efficient use, In this work we modify Inception closer to a depthwise
separable convolution. Experiment results show that the proposed method gains more 0.7% improvement on
rank-1 compared with the state-of-the-art method.
• Image and Video Copy Detection by Sparse Representation (Published at ACM MM2012)
Project description: Image copy detection is an art of searching duplicates from a target database. Inspired by the
recent study of sparsity in the context of compressed sensing, we propose a sparse representation-based
image copy detection method which outperformed the state-of-the-art method on both the accuracy and
computation time(more than 10 times).
