2. Clinical History
• Female patient, 19 years old
• Complaining of dysphagia and odynophagia
starting rather subacute since few days
• She reports no weight loss
• She is not a smoker, no alcohol or drug abuse
• She is not suffering any chronic illness

3. Clinical examination
• She is slightly lethargic but comfortable at rest
• Her vital signs are normal
• No specific pain or tenderness in the neck,
chest or abdomen
• Her general examination is unremarkable

8. Diagnosis is
• Pill Oesophagitis
– Confirmed by revision of drug history (direct
question) patient admitted to taking tetracycline
for her Acne vulgaris with only a small sip of water
on lying nearly flat at bedtime.
– Histopathology

9. Do we need local endotherapy/
• Yes
• NO

10. NO
• Not at this point in time
• If benign stricture develops
