The average budget per person per night rose by 62% over a year (Rs. 2690 in
summer 2013 and Rs. 1654 in summer 2012) and the trip length too grew by 6%.

Family and Group trips constitute two-thirds of the total number of trips planned for
summer.
Couple travellers however have higher budget per person per night (Rs. 3202) than Family

Travellers from Top tier 1 cities like Surat (4.36 nights), Rajkot (4.34 nights), Indore (4.18
nights) take the longest trips.
Also the longest trips are planned for northern hill stations in J&K, HP and Uttaranchal.

Travellers from southern cities take the shortest trips. Trip length of travellers from
Trivandrum and Coimbatore are 2.58 and 2.74 nights.
Shortest trips are planned for southern pilgrimage destinations like Guruvayur (1.45 nights)
and Dharamsthala (1.55 nights).

Cities of Travellers with Highest Budgets
Travellers from Amritsar lead the chart with an average budget per person per night of Rs.
4710, followed by Dehradun (Rs. 4124) and Mangalore (Rs. 4037).
Travellers from eastern and southern cities have the lowest budgets. Travellers from Durgapur
have average budget per person per night of Rs. 1287, followed by travellers from Rourkela
(Rs. 1407) and Salem (Rs. 1528).
