partly because it was written in English and partly because I happen to
belong to a region that was once conquered and ruled by ________

a talented writer.

adapted many times in Indian cinema, most recently in 2009.

Of the 9 animated features nominated for the 2017 Oscars, surprisingly,

the best animated feature of 2015 by the LA critics association.
The academy doesn't really hide its considerable favouritism towards
the company Y, so perhaps this snub was not too surprising after all. In
fact, of the 5 animated features from the X’s country of origin that have
ever been nominated at the Oscars, all were distributed in America by
Y.
