Descriptive Essay On A Perfect Place
A Perfect Place?
Crouched beside my father's hospital bed, I prayed for him to stay alive as he ran his trembling fingers through my soft brown curls for the last
time. He focused on my big green eyes as they overflowed with salty tears and whispered: "Sabrina Jane, in no circumstance you will give up
hope." Every night I lay in bed, weary of what tomorrow will bring to me and my family without my valiant father for support and protection from
the oppressive world we are required to live. I am proceeding to follow in his footsteps to turn this 'utopian world' into a free space where people
do not have to be watched, but first I need to get past the government. The government has everyone is fenced in with guards observing their every
move, advised that there is a horrid place outside this world and to never leave since there will always be consequences for everything. Except
there are always people trying to escape the interior facade of distraught, we hear that they all die from reading the Newspaper and the deafening
of the rambunctious sirens that warn us of the dangers from disobeying the Mayor's laws. I hope to be the first one to withdraw the way of living I
was raised to obey. When you walk into my bedroom there are stacks of thick, rough and smooth yellow paper, on all of the paper I have plans for
my escape, using town sketches and machines for me to construct in order to depart from 'the perfect place'. My mother, who has blonde hair and light

Descriptive Essay : A Place On The Beach
1. Walking home from school an old abandon house on the corner of he street always gives me this weird feeling like im being watch. Friday night
a few friends decide to go and check out the house. After a walking a few miles the were finally there and the feeling of being watched starts to set in a
grows deeper. As were leaving, rain starts to poor like crazy and with home being a few miles away we decide our only place to stay dry is the
house. Walking into the house the first thing we notice is the smell, as if something has died in here long ago. Boards creek from every step we
take, pitch black, and the only noise is the sound of the storm outside. To scared to go anywhere we decide to leave not caring how wet we got. Being
wet is way better then being scarred beyond belief.
2. The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. The one place where I
could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the blue water as the sun rays reflect off the water giving it a beautiful glow. A place where
nothing matters but what is in that little moment. Walking on the beach with a slight breeze, cold sand, and the sound of the waves crashing creating a
noise that nothing can replace. Beaches are the perfect happy place.
3. Almost every day of the year this place is loud, crowded, and full of diversity. Black Friday, one day of the year, a special day, the mall is one of the
most chaotic places on

Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place
Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert
this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I could
travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have
imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale, opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder.
Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and swings open. As I step through the doorway into a
blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the beautiful
creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway.
A stream runs along the left side of the path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before.
As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I
once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new
presence at first as I pull a gate open and step through. Giggles burst from a

Profile of a Place Essay
Separate but equal is the approach that my roommate and I took when we moved in. To keep things separate, her things are on the left and mine
are on the right. The equal part comes in if one of us wants to use something of the others (such as a nail clipper or a hair tie.) This means that
almost anything we own is open to use with permission. We decided that we didn't want to combine any of our things just yet because we didn't
know each other that well. I believe it's a good idea because it will reduce the chance of an argument over whose things are whose. Girls seem to be
pettier about their things than boys. Having two girls in such a small space can lead to unwanted confrontation and bitterness. I'm not a territorial person,

All of the red that I have overpowers her green so it's not as if we are "Decking the Halls." Another visual that may catch the eye is the cleanliness
of one side of the room compared to the other. The right side, my side, is always neat and orderly but to the left is normally a wreck. Clothes are
usually everywhere and it makes for a cluttered looking room. When a room is cluttered it looks even smaller. Sometimes when I walk through
the door her towel and dirty clothes are right in the middle of the floor. It's obvious to see that in most cases, she does not honor our "separate but
equal" rule. It's ironic that this is happening because she thought of the idea. I guess she is comfortable enough with me now to join more of our
belongings. Earlier I mentioned a little about the layout of my dorm room. Now, here is the full version. When you come into the dorm, each set
up on the right and left are basically the same. The closets are against the same wall as the door in separate corners. On top of my closet is a big
black stereo, most of the time I have some type of R&B or Neo Soul coming from the speakers. My roommate has the TV and DVD player on top of
her closet. Recently we watched the MTV Music Awards on it. Moving right along to our microwaves, which are located on separate walls, one of
them in sitting on the refrigerator and the other is on two storage bins. All of my laundry items are at the foot

Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place
Rough Draft
Every year around July, the excitement overwhelms me. It's almost time to go to my favorite place in the world...Hollywood. Located only one mile
south of one of the oldest overland routes in Arkansas, known to early white settlers as the Old Southwest Trail. It's so calm, simple, and full of joy,
clearly I am not talking about a wild community in Los Angeles. It is nothing like that at all, it's Hollywood, Arkansas with a population of one
hundred–three. The town is not the reason it's my favorite, it's what happens every year during the last week of July. Davidson Campground carries
such a special place in my heart and I hope that I am able to pass that onto my children. For ten days my family, as well as about one hundred other
families, travel to the tiny, unique place to worship the Lord. Although there are church services every night at 7:45, the camp does more than fill
me with the holy spirit, it sets me back to a simple life, before everything was at my fingertips. During the time that I am there I feel so at home, all
of my troubles seem to float away in the spring fed stream that runs along the camp. Since birth my mother has taken me out to this spirit filled camp,
it's not a "normal" church camp where you drop your kids off, then pick them up at the end of the week.
Upon arriving you will find a row of cabins in a circular shape and in the middle of the circle is: a tabernacle, a volleyball net, a few playground sets,
water faucets, ping pong tables and picnic tables sitting in a row with a roof over them––for arts and crafts. After hours of cleaning and power washing
our cabin to get rid of the bugs and animals that claim the structure for themselves, I make my way around the cabins to catch up with friends I
haven't seen since this time last year. During the day, after children's church at 10, the kids gather in the circle and ride their bikes, but most
importantly, have water balloon fights! Water balloons are an icon of what campmeeting is and as I walk through the circle I can expect to be hit with
one, but I don't mind, it helps me beat the mid–summer heat. Right outside of the circle is one of the best things about camp meeting, the commissary. It
is fully stocked with bbq,

What happened?
Did the lights go out?
Why it's so dark and cold.
I am scared.
What is this place?
Where am I?
How did I reach here?

There isn't even a speck of sound either.
What the heck is this place?
It's very lonely.
But at the same time I have a nostalgic feeling.
Why do I feel vague connection with this room?
This place reminds me of myself. This place is where I belong.
This similarity between me and this room is that loneliness is common between us.
I feel like this is my home except it was not dark as this place tho.

if I had her looks. But I wanted to relieve my anger, so I chose her. I cursed her and even my grandparents. I told she looks like demon and because

The sweltering breeze rushes through my fingers as I sit on the soft green grass in the park. It's such a beautiful day, the grassy plane clashes with
the sapphire sky and the sunlight illuminates the delicate area surrounding me. I quickly find myself becoming captivated by the amount of diverse
people who populate the parks space. The athletic runners, dog walkers, and adolescents hidden in their smartphones; which, astonishes me
because who knew that such a beautiful place could bring so many contrasting individuals together. I arise to my feet and began traveling down a
narrow path which aligns itself along a lengthy river, but finally converged with the parkway ahead. An elderly couple sits at the end of the path on
a wooden bench eating ice cream that slowly drizzles down their hands and onto the wedding rings that occupies their fingers. I observe the elderly
couple for a short amount of time noticing how happy and gullible they act towards each other. I slowly began to lose interest in the couple, but then
the elderly woman's ice cream starts to run onto her blouse and the aged husband runs to fetch some napkins, quickly returning with them. A melody
ringing throughout the park quickly drew my attention away from the couple and directed it to the truck that rests on the side of the road. The truck
has a window fixtured on its side where a man hands out ice cream to a long line of kids waiting. Finding myself in line, I notice a younger couple at
the very front who

As a child, people will always remember certain destinations that stick with them that made a good impression. I have a place that not only made a
good impression, it changed me. It made me think off all the things in life people take for granted; places, people, activates. This place brought all
though special things in life to one place where I can enjoy them all at the same time. The Oregon coast. Traveling there, as a kid was always special.

stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your
toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and
you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and

you into a different dimension where there are no other places like it. You cannot be one the beach without a smile on your face, it's near impossible
to be in a gloomy mood when there. Mainly magical because you can escape there with family and friends with many opportunities to try to

Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place
For many people there is a sweet smell, a pleasing photograph, the familiar sound of happiness that bring them back to a place full of childhood
images. In my life, I was lucky enough to have traveled to some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have swum with the dolphins in crystal
blue sea of Phuket Thailand and watch golden ray of the sunshine set behind mount Fuji in Japan. However, no places earth will compare to the
loveliness of my childhood paradise, a place I called home. Barbara Kingsolver writes, "I have a place where all my stories begin," and my story
began at a lake house located on the water edge of Little Toad Lake, Minnesota. (Kingsolver 939). It is where I spent half my life with my dog
(Spike), sister, mom, and dad, through the hot summer days and freezing winter months. The house was built on the side of a steep hill leading
down to a beach front lake. The main entrance had a big double iron door which lead into the living room overlooking the lake. The main living
area had several big windows which let in a brilliant of sunlight onto the dark walnut floor. The fireplace mantle displays a big moose head that my
dad shot on his hunting trip to Alaska (his prize possession). My favorite place of the house would be the kitchen. That's where all my lessons of
cooking started. Thank you to my mom for teaching me the value of cooking. If it wasn't for her I would be eating ramens every day at college. Oh,
the memories we had at the lake house. In the spring, my mom, sister, and I go on long walks in the woods to go mushroom hunting because who
doesn't love free food. I remember making mushroom soup for the first time and almost burning my hands off because I forgot to turn the stove
down to low and the pot was overflowing onto the floor. I could still remember the facial expression on my mom's face, let just say she was not a
happy camper. One summer day, my sister and I were out fishing with my mom on the pontoon and we were catching a lot of fish and out of
nowhere it started pouring rain. My mom started the pontoon and guess what? We ran out of gas in the middle of the lake. It took as over two hours
to paddle back to shore but thank goodness it stopped raining. To this day we still

Descriptive Essay On A Place In The Woods
For many people they have that one place they can go and just relax. For me it's some place in the woods with a stream or creek. So, when I found
this spot while walking around I knew this was the spot I wanted to capture. This piece spoke to me for multiple reasons because I found it in an
area that resembles where I grew up and I took a lot of comfort in that fact. I now have somewhere to go and get away when I need to be alone or if I
need to think about things because of this scavenger hunt. Just by looking at this picture it brings me a feeling of peace and comfort. The first reason
this picture practically shouted at me was because this reminds me of a spot at home that I would visit frequently. I live four hours away in the
country and more specifically on the side off a mountain. Along with that I live in a house with six brothers and a little sister. This said, I am
completely surrounded by woods, not many other attractions, and only my family to drive me insane. So, In the valley by my house we have a
creek that runs through the woods and that was where I would go for everything. If I was mad and needed time to cool off, if I wanted scenery that I
could draw, workouts, and almost anything else you could think of. So, when I found this spot a rush of emotions ran through me because it reminded
me of this. This spot has now become my new thinking spot. I love walking out to it and just sitting along the side to think and I even come out here to

Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local
restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like
the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the
people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school
district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million
dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the
southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the
same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

Description of My Room Essay
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what
I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always

Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so
whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I
don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing but my room won't say anything, it will never judge
me. My room is the only place where I will try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is how my
room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself.
It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not only around my city or state, but all over the
world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can
go and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to
my room and just write about things that are going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about
everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop me from making a comment and saying what is on
my mind.

Descriptive Essay On My Comfort Place
Traveling anywhere can be a hectic experience. Thinking about all of the planning and the actual flying can make what's supposed to a relaxing
trip stressful. However, traveling somewhere where you don't know anyone with you or the language where you're going make can amplify the
stress. Going to Bali with my CCS group was something I never thought I would be able to do. The majority of the trips I've been on I've typically
gone alone due to my anxiety disorder, so going somewhere with complete strangers was already out of my comfort zone. However, I've always
wanted to experience other cultures and travel to exotic locations, and I knew to do that knew I had to step out of my comfort zone and select a trip
where I knew nothing about. It turns out selecting Bali for my CCE was the right choice. This trip allowed us to completely immerse into the culture for
two weeks, and allowed us to take time to learn it alongside each other. In those two weeks, I learned that Balinese culture is a culture very different
from our own, and experiencing it was an enormous culture shock. The first notable difference was the food that was served. They didn't have
access to many of the foods that we typically would've eaten back home, or there were foods we ate back home that they simply chose not to eat. For
example, beef is a large portion of the American diet, but due to the Balinese being Hindu they choose not to consume it and instead they'll typically
eat chicken or fish. However

Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful City
Imagine yourself coming to a city you have never been to for a vacation. You have just gotten a leave from your job and you are expecting a relaxing
vacation without any hassles. After a long flight, you reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a huge,
beautiful city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city's tech industry. As you walk into the downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain
with water gushing out in all directions making its way through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when looked from
above. Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit on pear–shaped benches watching the young children with
glee. Hover cars make their way as they gently glide on top of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home with the low
sound of hover cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas glide across the water gently as their occupants heartily talk
and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out of nowhere and you are alarmed as you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief as you see
kids of all ages flock out of school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake to escape the heat.
The clear water with a hint of blue is full of ripples going off in all directions from the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly cut grass
from the field in Birchland Park enters your nose. You are home! You finally attain your peace and quietness. The neighborhood is very quiet
allowing you to take a peaceful nap and dream about the wonderful sights you will see and the things you will do in this wonderful city tomorrow.
Pearadex city has surpassed all levels expected from the public and is the future generation of cities. It is located in Northern California, United
States of America, and has had quite a big history considering that it was founded on June 19, 1984. Even though this city looks and seems like it
has had a steady and easy going past it has had its fair share of problems. But learning from our mistakes, we have made our city the magnificent city

Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place In The Sea
I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with
my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a mother,
father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around, taking in the big world around them. The children are in their
bright red and purple flowered bathing suits, running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that churns back and forth on
the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force into the crystal clear abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they
dive deep enough.
To the left of me, I see an older couple, books in hand, enjoying the relaxing evening under their bright, multicolor striped beach umbrella and green
folding chairs that have palm trees sewn on the back. The man leans over and soon enough the lady begins to laugh at what he has said. Further
down I can see a boy in blue and white striped swim trunks and his dog playing fetch near the shore. The dog is brown with a mix of white around
his back. Each time the boy throws the bouncy blue ball, the dog is more and more eager to retrieve it for his owner. After a few throws, the next one
goes farther than the others, causing the dog to dive into the water. He seems to enjoy the way the cool water feels on his fur

Descriptive Essay On A Living Place
Growing up I was always on the internet and looking through magazines dreaming of having this amazing bedroom for myself. Now as I'm entering
college and buying everything for my dorm room, having to be very particular about what I was buying since space in so limited in average
residence halls. Everything has to be compact, compact refrigerators, compact microwaves, you have to cut back on the amount of clothes and shoes
you bring with you, which for a girl is a difficult task. Some students not only have to adjust to living on their own and going to school, but also a lot
of dorm rooms are two people bedrooms so some have to adjust to living in close quarters with another human. So as the stress of dorm shopping
started so did my dreams of a bigger and better dorm.
If I was designing and building my own dorm building I would make each dorm a suite with four bedrooms, one student per bedroom. Each student
also gets their own bathroom. The suites would also have a living room for everyone to share and a full size kitchen. There would also be a small
laundry room with a washer, dryer and an iron for the suite mates to share. Each building will have an indoor pool and a small weight room for
exercise to help fight off the freshmen fifteen. The suites would be comprised of four students of the same gender with like interests and compatible
personalities. Once a week, there would be a housekeeper that comes and cleans the entire suite, top to bottom, and go grocery shopping for

Descriptive Essay About A Sacred Place
It goes without saying that everyone on earth has at least one sanctuary. For some, this place is high up in the branches of a tree, where they can
touch the sky with outstretched fingertips and feign a lack of attachment to the busy world lying below. For others, this sacred place might be
found in a place as close and accessible as a cubbyhole in their own home. For others still, it might be in a library, or on a quiet mountaintop, the
hard pews of a church building, or even a person. I myself have found my haven to be far away and, for now, out of my reach, in a city called
Wilmington in North Carolina. It is the seventh or eighth largest city in the state, but the downtown area isn't too busy to relax and breathe in the
fresh air drifting from the beach only a few miles away. It is peaceful and serene, but still bustling with just the right amount of life and activity to be
always uplifting, and flawless in its own way.
My family used to visit there once a year for about a week in the summer. We would go camping and spend the majority of our time frequenting the
beach. Back then I was tiny, but even now I know I would be overwhelmed by the vast space of the sky opened up over me, blue and deep in a
reflection of the water below it. I would try with all my might to run through the grainy, hot sand scraping away at the bottoms of my burning feet onto
cooler ground, where cool ocean water counteracted the sun's hot touch. Even as a little girl, the beach wasn't just a place

memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am going to share it with you based on the spectacular
memories I have created here. Its filled with wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to one
another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful
to the ear but a reason as to why I chose this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should be

in your everyday life. For example, this helps me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in

Descriptive Essay About My Place In High School
Have you ever been in a place that at first glance does not seem like anything special, yet the more time you spend in that place the more enjoyable
it becomes? As you are going into high school you will be taking several FACS classes. The more you know about the FACS room the better
prepared you will be for those classes. The FACS classroom at Holcomb High School is a delightful place to be. There are three different sections that
make up the FACS classroom. Starting first with the classroom its self, where all the desks are, and where you do your textbook assignments. The
second part of the classroom is the adjoining room that is made up of the kitchens that you learn to cook in. The last part is the small picnic area
outside. As you first walk through the door into the classroom, you will notice how large the classroom is. As you scan the room for the first time
you will see that the room has lots of pops of colors from pictures and posters on the walls. You will see the roughly twenty– five cheap plastic desk
and chairs. The walls are tan painted cinder blocks, the paint gives the walls a smooth yet sort of bumpy texture. As you look up to the ceiling you
will see ceiling tiles, that over the years have faded and been scuffed up. Looking down at the floor you will see that the floor is covered in well
abused glued down laminate tiles. The tiles stared as an off white and have slowly yellowed. Cabinets wrap around the room that alternate between a
pale yellow and white,

Descriptive Essay On A Perfect Place

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On A Perfect Place A Perfect Place? Crouched beside my father's hospital bed, I prayed for him to stay alive as he ran his trembling fingers through my soft brown curls for the last time. He focused on my big green eyes as they overflowed with salty tears and whispered: "Sabrina Jane, in no circumstance you will give up hope." Every night I lay in bed, weary of what tomorrow will bring to me and my family without my valiant father for support and protection from the oppressive world we are required to live. I am proceeding to follow in his footsteps to turn this 'utopian world' into a free space where people do not have to be watched, but first I need to get past the government. The government has everyone is fenced in with guards observing their every move, advised that there is a horrid place outside this world and to never leave since there will always be consequences for everything. Except there are always people trying to escape the interior facade of distraught, we hear that they all die from reading the Newspaper and the deafening of the rambunctious sirens that warn us of the dangers from disobeying the Mayor's laws. I hope to be the first one to withdraw the way of living I was raised to obey. When you walk into my bedroom there are stacks of thick, rough and smooth yellow paper, on all of the paper I have plans for my escape, using town sketches and machines for me to construct in order to depart from 'the perfect place'. My mother, who has blonde hair and light blue Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay : A Place On The Beach 1. Walking home from school an old abandon house on the corner of he street always gives me this weird feeling like im being watch. Friday night a few friends decide to go and check out the house. After a walking a few miles the were finally there and the feeling of being watched starts to set in a grows deeper. As were leaving, rain starts to poor like crazy and with home being a few miles away we decide our only place to stay dry is the house. Walking into the house the first thing we notice is the smell, as if something has died in here long ago. Boards creek from every step we take, pitch black, and the only noise is the sound of the storm outside. To scared to go anywhere we decide to leave not caring how wet we got. Being wet is way better then being scarred beyond belief. 2. The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. The one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the blue water as the sun rays reflect off the water giving it a beautiful glow. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. Walking on the beach with a slight breeze, cold sand, and the sound of the waves crashing creating a noise that nothing can replace. Beaches are the perfect happy place. 3. Almost every day of the year this place is loud, crowded, and full of diversity. Black Friday, one day of the year, a special day, the mall is one of the most chaotic places on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I could travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale, opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder. Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and swings open. As I step through the doorway into a blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the beautiful creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway. A stream runs along the left side of the path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before. As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new presence at first as I pull a gate open and step through. Giggles burst from a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Profile of a Place Essay Separate but equal is the approach that my roommate and I took when we moved in. To keep things separate, her things are on the left and mine are on the right. The equal part comes in if one of us wants to use something of the others (such as a nail clipper or a hair tie.) This means that almost anything we own is open to use with permission. We decided that we didn't want to combine any of our things just yet because we didn't know each other that well. I believe it's a good idea because it will reduce the chance of an argument over whose things are whose. Girls seem to be pettier about their things than boys. Having two girls in such a small space can lead to unwanted confrontation and bitterness. I'm not a territorial person, ...show more content... All of the red that I have overpowers her green so it's not as if we are "Decking the Halls." Another visual that may catch the eye is the cleanliness of one side of the room compared to the other. The right side, my side, is always neat and orderly but to the left is normally a wreck. Clothes are usually everywhere and it makes for a cluttered looking room. When a room is cluttered it looks even smaller. Sometimes when I walk through the door her towel and dirty clothes are right in the middle of the floor. It's obvious to see that in most cases, she does not honor our "separate but equal" rule. It's ironic that this is happening because she thought of the idea. I guess she is comfortable enough with me now to join more of our belongings. Earlier I mentioned a little about the layout of my dorm room. Now, here is the full version. When you come into the dorm, each set up on the right and left are basically the same. The closets are against the same wall as the door in separate corners. On top of my closet is a big black stereo, most of the time I have some type of R&B or Neo Soul coming from the speakers. My roommate has the TV and DVD player on top of her closet. Recently we watched the MTV Music Awards on it. Moving right along to our microwaves, which are located on separate walls, one of them in sitting on the refrigerator and the other is on two storage bins. All of my laundry items are at the foot Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place Rough Draft Every year around July, the excitement overwhelms me. It's almost time to go to my favorite place in the world...Hollywood. Located only one mile south of one of the oldest overland routes in Arkansas, known to early white settlers as the Old Southwest Trail. It's so calm, simple, and full of joy, clearly I am not talking about a wild community in Los Angeles. It is nothing like that at all, it's Hollywood, Arkansas with a population of one hundred–three. The town is not the reason it's my favorite, it's what happens every year during the last week of July. Davidson Campground carries such a special place in my heart and I hope that I am able to pass that onto my children. For ten days my family, as well as about one hundred other families, travel to the tiny, unique place to worship the Lord. Although there are church services every night at 7:45, the camp does more than fill me with the holy spirit, it sets me back to a simple life, before everything was at my fingertips. During the time that I am there I feel so at home, all of my troubles seem to float away in the spring fed stream that runs along the camp. Since birth my mother has taken me out to this spirit filled camp, it's not a "normal" church camp where you drop your kids off, then pick them up at the end of the week. Upon arriving you will find a row of cabins in a circular shape and in the middle of the circle is: a tabernacle, a volleyball net, a few playground sets, water faucets, ping pong tables and picnic tables sitting in a row with a roof over them––for arts and crafts. After hours of cleaning and power washing our cabin to get rid of the bugs and animals that claim the structure for themselves, I make my way around the cabins to catch up with friends I haven't seen since this time last year. During the day, after children's church at 10, the kids gather in the circle and ride their bikes, but most importantly, have water balloon fights! Water balloons are an icon of what campmeeting is and as I walk through the circle I can expect to be hit with one, but I don't mind, it helps me beat the mid–summer heat. Right outside of the circle is one of the best things about camp meeting, the commissary. It is fully stocked with bbq, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About This Place What happened? Did the lights go out? Why it's so dark and cold. I am scared. What is this place? Where am I? How did I reach here? "...." There isn't even a speck of sound either. What the heck is this place? It's very lonely. But at the same time I have a nostalgic feeling. Why do I feel vague connection with this room?
  • 7. This place reminds me of myself. This place is where I belong. This similarity between me and this room is that loneliness is common between us. I feel like this is my home except it was not dark as this place tho. My home has the similar atmosphere. I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I lived in a huge mansion with several dozen of maids and butlers for my service...show more content... My smile was more like an evil grin which was never my intent. The smile backfired and then many weird rumors also started circulating about me. I am named Freddy, the baby eater. Hence I gave up on myself, and abandoned any hope of ever making friends. Just became shut–in otaku. Playing games and watching anime. I even behaved like a delinquent. I became what people thought, I was. Than mom came back in an urgent business trip near hometown. She was disheartened to see my condition. After meeting mom, I suddenly cried and told her everything, like a baby. Complained and complained about everything and everyone, how they treated me. I almost blamed her for giving her looks. I don't know what I was saying, I know it's not her fault, if I had her looks. But I wanted to relieve my anger, so I chose her. I cursed her and even my grandparents. I told she looks like demon and because of that I was born as demon. I was pissed and my mouth went out of control. I told her that because of her scary face, even daddy left her and she deserved it. When she heard this she held me by the shoulders. I got scared and closed my eyes shut, thinking I would be slapped. I restrained my left cheek muscles ready to take the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful Place The sweltering breeze rushes through my fingers as I sit on the soft green grass in the park. It's such a beautiful day, the grassy plane clashes with the sapphire sky and the sunlight illuminates the delicate area surrounding me. I quickly find myself becoming captivated by the amount of diverse people who populate the parks space. The athletic runners, dog walkers, and adolescents hidden in their smartphones; which, astonishes me because who knew that such a beautiful place could bring so many contrasting individuals together. I arise to my feet and began traveling down a narrow path which aligns itself along a lengthy river, but finally converged with the parkway ahead. An elderly couple sits at the end of the path on a wooden bench eating ice cream that slowly drizzles down their hands and onto the wedding rings that occupies their fingers. I observe the elderly couple for a short amount of time noticing how happy and gullible they act towards each other. I slowly began to lose interest in the couple, but then the elderly woman's ice cream starts to run onto her blouse and the aged husband runs to fetch some napkins, quickly returning with them. A melody ringing throughout the park quickly drew my attention away from the couple and directed it to the truck that rests on the side of the road. The truck has a window fixtured on its side where a man hands out ice cream to a long line of kids waiting. Finding myself in line, I notice a younger couple at the very front who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place As a child, people will always remember certain destinations that stick with them that made a good impression. I have a place that not only made a good impression, it changed me. It made me think off all the things in life people take for granted; places, people, activates. This place brought all though special things in life to one place where I can enjoy them all at the same time. The Oregon coast. Traveling there, as a kid was always special. Waking up early in the morning and driving the long trip there, going through forests, valleys, and cities. The Oregon coast is such a broad place to describe, but in reality, all the towns have the same feel but different atmosphere. Pacific City is small and quiet with a great...show more content... Its cold, windy, and sunny all at the same time. The beach stretches for miles seeming endless, until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in the air creating a "sparkling" affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to capture the view. This destination is such an important place to Oregonians because its such a magical place. It transports you into a different dimension where there are no other places like it. You cannot be one the beach without a smile on your face, it's near impossible to be in a gloomy mood when there. Mainly magical because you can escape there with family and friends with many opportunities to try to experience new or traditional things. Like having a fire on a beach roasting s'mores with family and friends, or trying weird sea creature at a restaurant. The Oregon Coast will always hold a spot near to my heart. • 10. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place For many people there is a sweet smell, a pleasing photograph, the familiar sound of happiness that bring them back to a place full of childhood images. In my life, I was lucky enough to have traveled to some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have swum with the dolphins in crystal blue sea of Phuket Thailand and watch golden ray of the sunshine set behind mount Fuji in Japan. However, no places earth will compare to the loveliness of my childhood paradise, a place I called home. Barbara Kingsolver writes, "I have a place where all my stories begin," and my story began at a lake house located on the water edge of Little Toad Lake, Minnesota. (Kingsolver 939). It is where I spent half my life with my dog (Spike), sister, mom, and dad, through the hot summer days and freezing winter months. The house was built on the side of a steep hill leading down to a beach front lake. The main entrance had a big double iron door which lead into the living room overlooking the lake. The main living area had several big windows which let in a brilliant of sunlight onto the dark walnut floor. The fireplace mantle displays a big moose head that my dad shot on his hunting trip to Alaska (his prize possession). My favorite place of the house would be the kitchen. That's where all my lessons of cooking started. Thank you to my mom for teaching me the value of cooking. If it wasn't for her I would be eating ramens every day at college. Oh, the memories we had at the lake house. In the spring, my mom, sister, and I go on long walks in the woods to go mushroom hunting because who doesn't love free food. I remember making mushroom soup for the first time and almost burning my hands off because I forgot to turn the stove down to low and the pot was overflowing onto the floor. I could still remember the facial expression on my mom's face, let just say she was not a happy camper. One summer day, my sister and I were out fishing with my mom on the pontoon and we were catching a lot of fish and out of nowhere it started pouring rain. My mom started the pontoon and guess what? We ran out of gas in the middle of the lake. It took as over two hours to paddle back to shore but thank goodness it stopped raining. To this day we still Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Descriptive Essay On A Place In The Woods For many people they have that one place they can go and just relax. For me it's some place in the woods with a stream or creek. So, when I found this spot while walking around I knew this was the spot I wanted to capture. This piece spoke to me for multiple reasons because I found it in an area that resembles where I grew up and I took a lot of comfort in that fact. I now have somewhere to go and get away when I need to be alone or if I need to think about things because of this scavenger hunt. Just by looking at this picture it brings me a feeling of peace and comfort. The first reason this picture practically shouted at me was because this reminds me of a spot at home that I would visit frequently. I live four hours away in the country and more specifically on the side off a mountain. Along with that I live in a house with six brothers and a little sister. This said, I am completely surrounded by woods, not many other attractions, and only my family to drive me insane. So, In the valley by my house we have a creek that runs through the woods and that was where I would go for everything. If I was mad and needed time to cool off, if I wanted scenery that I could draw, workouts, and almost anything else you could think of. So, when I found this spot a rush of emotions ran through me because it reminded me of this. This spot has now become my new thinking spot. I love walking out to it and just sitting along the side to think and I even come out here to do Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Description of My Room Essay The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place that I can go to clear my mind. My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own, I can be creative and decorate...show more content... Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself. It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind. • 14. Descriptive Essay On My Comfort Place Traveling anywhere can be a hectic experience. Thinking about all of the planning and the actual flying can make what's supposed to a relaxing trip stressful. However, traveling somewhere where you don't know anyone with you or the language where you're going make can amplify the stress. Going to Bali with my CCS group was something I never thought I would be able to do. The majority of the trips I've been on I've typically gone alone due to my anxiety disorder, so going somewhere with complete strangers was already out of my comfort zone. However, I've always wanted to experience other cultures and travel to exotic locations, and I knew to do that knew I had to step out of my comfort zone and select a trip where I knew nothing about. It turns out selecting Bali for my CCE was the right choice. This trip allowed us to completely immerse into the culture for two weeks, and allowed us to take time to learn it alongside each other. In those two weeks, I learned that Balinese culture is a culture very different from our own, and experiencing it was an enormous culture shock. The first notable difference was the food that was served. They didn't have access to many of the foods that we typically would've eaten back home, or there were foods we ate back home that they simply chose not to eat. For example, beef is a large portion of the American diet, but due to the Balinese being Hindu they choose not to consume it and instead they'll typically eat chicken or fish. • 15. Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful City Imagine yourself coming to a city you have never been to for a vacation. You have just gotten a leave from your job and you are expecting a relaxing vacation without any hassles. After a long flight, you reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a huge, beautiful city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city's tech industry. As you walk into the downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain with water gushing out in all directions making its way through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when looked from above. Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit on pear–shaped benches watching the young children with glee. Hover cars make their way as they gently glide on top of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home with the low sound of hover cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas glide across the water gently as their occupants heartily talk and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out of nowhere and you are alarmed as you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief as you see kids of all ages flock out of school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake to escape the heat. The clear water with a hint of blue is full of ripples going off in all directions from the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly cut grass from the field in Birchland Park enters your nose. You are home! You finally attain your peace and quietness. The neighborhood is very quiet allowing you to take a peaceful nap and dream about the wonderful sights you will see and the things you will do in this wonderful city tomorrow. • 16. Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place In The Sea I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a mother, father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around, taking in the big world around them. The children are in their bright red and purple flowered bathing suits, running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that churns back and forth on the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force into the crystal clear abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough. To the left of me, I see an older couple, books in hand, enjoying the relaxing evening under their bright, multicolor striped beach umbrella and green folding chairs that have palm trees sewn on the back. The man leans over and soon enough the lady begins to laugh at what he has said. Further down I can see a boy in blue and white striped swim trunks and his dog playing fetch near the shore. The dog is brown with a mix of white around his back. Each time the boy throws the bouncy blue ball, the dog is more and more eager to retrieve it for his owner. After a few throws, the next one goes farther than the others, causing the dog to dive into the water. He seems to enjoy the way the cool water feels on his fur Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Descriptive Essay On A Living Place Growing up I was always on the internet and looking through magazines dreaming of having this amazing bedroom for myself. Now as I'm entering college and buying everything for my dorm room, having to be very particular about what I was buying since space in so limited in average residence halls. Everything has to be compact, compact refrigerators, compact microwaves, you have to cut back on the amount of clothes and shoes you bring with you, which for a girl is a difficult task. Some students not only have to adjust to living on their own and going to school, but also a lot of dorm rooms are two people bedrooms so some have to adjust to living in close quarters with another human. So as the stress of dorm shopping started so did my dreams of a bigger and better dorm. If I was designing and building my own dorm building I would make each dorm a suite with four bedrooms, one student per bedroom. Each student also gets their own bathroom. The suites would also have a living room for everyone to share and a full size kitchen. There would also be a small laundry room with a washer, dryer and an iron for the suite mates to share. Each building will have an indoor pool and a small weight room for exercise to help fight off the freshmen fifteen. The suites would be comprised of four students of the same gender with like interests and compatible personalities. Once a week, there would be a housekeeper that comes and cleans the entire suite, top to bottom, and go grocery shopping for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Descriptive Essay About A Sacred Place It goes without saying that everyone on earth has at least one sanctuary. For some, this place is high up in the branches of a tree, where they can touch the sky with outstretched fingertips and feign a lack of attachment to the busy world lying below. For others, this sacred place might be found in a place as close and accessible as a cubbyhole in their own home. For others still, it might be in a library, or on a quiet mountaintop, the hard pews of a church building, or even a person. I myself have found my haven to be far away and, for now, out of my reach, in a city called Wilmington in North Carolina. It is the seventh or eighth largest city in the state, but the downtown area isn't too busy to relax and breathe in the fresh air drifting from the beach only a few miles away. It is peaceful and serene, but still bustling with just the right amount of life and activity to be always uplifting, and flawless in its own way. My family used to visit there once a year for about a week in the summer. We would go camping and spend the majority of our time frequenting the beach. Back then I was tiny, but even now I know I would be overwhelmed by the vast space of the sky opened up over me, blue and deep in a reflection of the water below it. I would try with all my might to run through the grainy, hot sand scraping away at the bottoms of my burning feet onto cooler ground, where cool ocean water counteracted the sun's hot touch. Even as a little girl, the beach wasn't just a place Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Well this place in Ames, Iowa will soon be your favorite. Surrounded by growing old trees, I am happy to call this my happy place, but to you it's a whole new area. At nights where they are perfect, you will spend time with friends, get to have fun and start new memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am going to share it with you based on the spectacular memories I have created here. Its filled with wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to one another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful to the ear but a reason as to why I chose this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should be somewhere in a couple minutes. The reminder is a special aspect of why I wanted to share this place with you because it can help you be productive in your everyday life. For example, this helps me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in less than twenty Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Descriptive Essay About My Place In High School Have you ever been in a place that at first glance does not seem like anything special, yet the more time you spend in that place the more enjoyable it becomes? As you are going into high school you will be taking several FACS classes. The more you know about the FACS room the better prepared you will be for those classes. The FACS classroom at Holcomb High School is a delightful place to be. There are three different sections that make up the FACS classroom. Starting first with the classroom its self, where all the desks are, and where you do your textbook assignments. The second part of the classroom is the adjoining room that is made up of the kitchens that you learn to cook in. The last part is the small picnic area outside. As you first walk through the door into the classroom, you will notice how large the classroom is. As you scan the room for the first time you will see that the room has lots of pops of colors from pictures and posters on the walls. You will see the roughly twenty– five cheap plastic desk and chairs. The walls are tan painted cinder blocks, the paint gives the walls a smooth yet sort of bumpy texture. As you look up to the ceiling you will see ceiling tiles, that over the years have faded and been scuffed up. Looking down at the floor you will see that the floor is covered in well abused glued down laminate tiles. The tiles stared as an off white and have slowly yellowed. Cabinets wrap around the room that alternate between a pale yellow and white, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
