Analysis Of Father And Son
"I am glad that I paid so little attention to good advice; had I abided by it I might have been saved from some of my most valuable mistakes.." Edna
St. Vincent. Whether it be good or bad, the advice people give us can sometimes made us feel trapped. Especially when someone we care about
believes they know best, like fathers. "Father and Son", a song by Cat Stevens demonstrates the feelings a son has about the advice his Father wants
for him and his life. On the other hand, "What Shall He Tell That Son" a poem by Carl Sandburg, focuses on the mind of a father who wants to tell his
son everything he can about life, but in the end says nothing. Advice from fathers can shape a child's life, giving a different point–of–view on what
they'd like to become and what they might want to avoid becoming. At the end of the day, the majority of parents want the best for their children,
regardless if they are taking into account what their kid wants. Both "Father and Son" and "What Shall He Tell That Son" focus mainly on the
father's thoughts and feelings, the prior having the addition of the son's perspective as well. However, the moods in these works are drastically
different. While one father wants his son to experience the world and all its beauty, the other wants his son to keep a simple life and settle down
early. Although the perspective of the son in Sandburg's poem is not shown, Steven's sure has a lot to say. He feels trapped and ignored, as seem in the

Descriptive Essay About My Father
Oh, how mistaken my Dad was. I remember him looking down at me, my Dad a towering height of 6'6 and I a height of 3'5, telling me that I wasn't
reading. I remember looking down and getting sad and angry, that I thought I was reading.
When I was younger, I loved to "read". By reading, I mean being read to by my parents every night. One of my parents would lay beside me every
night on my twin sized day bed. I would snuggle underneath my quilted blanket that my grandmother made for me, and get ready for an adventure.
Our two golden retrievers, George, and Baldwin, would be either on or next to my bed, being content with just being near my parents and me. Every
night I would expect a story of adventure. Both of my parents were constantly...show more content...
"I can read The Fourteen Bears, Summer and Winter all by myself!" I said, my smile somehow growing larger. My Dad smiled a bit more and laughed,
"Mimi, you aren't "reading" the book, you just memorized it." He said laughing. I started to get sad and angry, my smile disappearing, and I started to
tear up. My Dad saw my frown and stopped laughing. "Mimi, It's ok if you don't know how to read yet, I know you'll learn," My Dad said with a
smile. I didn't return the smile, as I was still angry that he said that. I was reading! I looked at the words and said what they were! I didn't get what he
was saying!
Over time, something clicked. One night, with my mom sitting next to me, I narrowed my eyes and looked at the words. I looked at them,
remembering what my teachers taught me at Montessori, and I put two and two together. I started reading! It was slow and steady. I couldn't read
some of the bigger words, but I did it! I was reading! My mom was ecstatic and so was my Dad. From that spark, a great fire ignited. My love of
reading grew and I would read almost everyday. At Montessori, as a Kindergartner, I could read better than some of the fourth and fifth graders. I
even tried to teach my little brother how to read by setting a pile of books in front of him, and reading and describing the words. My parents loved it,
and they went out of their way to get me more and more books. When I entered elementary school, my parents bought me over $100

A Father's Love Essay
A Father's Love
I lived in the city with my father. Recently, I bought a new house which is light, large and comfortable. But since we lived in the new house, my
father always had been tired. He was often sleeping in bed, loudly snoring in the day. The snore that reverberated in the whole new house made me
unable to focus on my work and I couldn't sleep well. Because I was a freedom contributor who sometimes worked in the night and sometimes slept
in the daytime. Because I wanted to earn the money to live, pay off the debt and buy the new house. I had an occupational disease of neurasthenia, so
I needed a quiet situation for resting and working. And also I was afraid that he maybe had some...show more content...
It made me so tired. Is it undue that I needed a quiet situation? The next afternoon, I had been asleep until four o'clock. When I woke up I felt the
house was so quiet. I didn't hear any snoring, so I went to my father's room, but my father was not in. I thought maybe he went out to meet his
friends to play cards with them. I always hoped that he could go out to do something to relieve his weariness. Although I complained with my father,
my father could understand me. Everyday my father came back in time and cooked for me. Then he would go out again. One day, I asked my father
what did he do and where he wanted to go. My father answered "No, nothing." And then went out. When he came back again, I said, "You should take
care of yourself, and eat something nutritious." Because I felt that my father was getting thinner than before. But his skin became whiter. And my
father told me that he was healing and strong, he was fine. Although I still worried about him, I didn't say any more words. I thought maybe I was
suspicious, but at last I knew that, in fact, I was careless with my father and blamed him wrongly.
At the end of the year, I was invited to write a report by my friend's manager. As thanks, the manager invited my friend and me to have a dinner. After
dinner, we went to a big bathroom together.
Beside the huge tub, which was surrounded by vapor, I saw

Thanks to My Hardworking Father Essay

Thanks to My Hardworking Father It is very fortunate for a kid to have his father around. In the last thirty years, having both parents in the household
was rare. Most of my friends I grew up with only had their mother around. To all the mothers that were strong enough to raise a boy to be a man, I
commend you. However, I was very fortunate to have both parents in my household. I would like to thank my father for showing me what a
hardworking man truly is, for teaching me how to be responsible, and teaching me why it's better to work hard for my money than take the easy route
like selling drugs. First of all, I thank my father for showing me what a hardworking...show more content...
It was never anything outrageous but it was definitely a good motivator. My father never tried to spoil me, but there was always a lesson to be
learned in everything he did for me. If he gave me something for doing what I was supposed to do, he would tell me that God's reward for me
being responsible is even greater. My father continually stressed to me that when you work hard for the money, there is always a greater reward at
the end. Finally, I thank my father for teaching me that a real man works hard for his money. My father always said if a person takes the easy route
to get money, that person won't appreciate anything. I didn't understand what my father meant by that until I got older. Seeing people sell drugs to
get money, I noticed that those people didn't care how the money was spent. I would see those people buying clothes, which were ridiculously
expensive; like five or six hundred dollar shirts. These guys had no clue about how to work hard for their money, so they didn't care how fast it was
spent. Then I saw a hard working man who cherished every dime he worked for. In the end, what my father was trying to teach me was that there are
benefits for those that work hard, and none for those that don't. In conclusion, I thank my father for being there to teach me how to be a hardworking
man, the importance of being responsible, and how nothing comes easily.

The Role Of A Father
3.0 The Role of a father
While both parents are equally important, a father is an instrumental and key figure in the modern family. This is because he is the head of family and
more often than not, the chief bread winner in most cases.Other tasks and roles performed by a father are unique and defined basing on the cultural
background of the community that he comes from. However, from culture to culture, the fundamental tasks that are required of manhood are basically
the same, some of which we are going to look briefly in this paper.
A father should always be there for his wife and children to provide the much needed love and support. Showering them with lots of cash does not
necessarily indicate love and support. He should be ready to give them an ear, comfort them and spend quality time as well as quantity time with them.
This is crucial in creating an emotional tie, a prerequisite for strong and healthy family relationship. The father therefore plays the role of loving and
supporting his spouse and offspring. Camon extensively explored the effects of not having a fathers love and support on a child's development (121)
The father offers protection and guards the family. Guarding and protecting does not necessarily mean directly confronting and beating up anyone who
threatens the family. It simply means that as a father and head of the family, you are reliable and can be counted on by your family when it matters
most. It means you that you

Essay on Fathers of the Military
In the military they prepare their men to be the best they can be for the obstacles they might face when being deployed, or any other orders they
might receive. But no one prepared them for being separated from their loved ones. Almost half the men who are deployed and serving our country are
married and a little less than half are married and half children (insert citation–demographics chart). So what does it mean for these men? Does it make
them a bad parent because they are deployed, or does it just mean they don't get to be involved in their child's life in the typical fashion such as seeing
them every day, asking them how their day was, missing holidays and birthdays and the big moments in their children's lives and so on. Within a...show

phase. _____________________. Now that the deployment has happened, it means a new way of life for the family back at home, especially when it
comes to parenting. There's parenting from the home front as well as parenting from the war zone, each holding different types of challenges for both
parents, but the focus here is the fathers at war and yet still manage to parent from home. It's still unknown about how deployed fathers react when
away from home due to not security issues but as well as communication isn't always available depending on the location. Most fathers stated that if
their partner back at home wasn't cooperative and willing to help co–parent from a far, that it was very difficult and the already difficult task of
focusing was made harder, which increased stress and anxiety in the field. As well as co–parenting, deployed soldiers have to rely on others to be able
to communicate to their children back home, especially if the child is younger and can't communicate on their own; it can create more of a space
between the father and child. (parenting cycle development ) Lastly Even though most

Essay on The Impact of Absent Fathers
Absent Fathers Rough Draft For various reasons, many children in the United States are living without their fathers in their homes or absent from
their lives entirely. This is an issue all across the world and the children are having to deal with the disadvantages caused by the lack of support from
their fathers. This issue has a significant effect on society and can be viewed and interpreted from the three sociological perspectives. As a result of
many studies, it was found that children raised in father absent homes almost universally experience disadvantages such as: worse health, poorer
academic achievement, and a less enjoyable educational experience. There are many variables that need to be taken into effect when considering...show

63 percent of households with an income of $25,000 or less are fatherless, and only 18 percent of households with an income of $75,000 or higher.
Almost identical statistics apply to less than high school credentials versus a bachelor's or graduate education. 62% of parents that have less than a
high school education are raising children without their father, and only 22% of parents with a bachelor's degree and 18% of parents with a graduate
degree are living in the same situation (DeBell 2008.) A correlation can be drawn here between education/income and percentage of fatherless
households. Generally speaking, as education increases, so will income. As income increases, the percentage of fatherless children and households
decreases. However, it could be argued that the income of the household will decrease when the father is gone and not contributing to the finances.
Though children without their fathers may not always be disadvantaged by his absence, statistics clearly show that as a whole, children in America are
not benefitted by the lack of a father. The same study conducted in 2003 showed that academic achievement is largely affected by fatherlessness. Seven
percent of children living with their father have ever repeated a grade in school, that number raises to sixteen percent in children without their father. 49
percent of children

Descriptive Essay About My Father
Every person I have ever met has someone that they are able to look up to and can say that that specific person is their hero. A very important person
in my life that has affected me in many ways would be my father. There is so much to know about such a great person. Lance Knight is a mentor, a
hard worker, a businessman, an avid ice hockey fan, and a loving dad. Whether he is at home, in the office, or out socializing with friends and family
you can always expect a friendly and positive demeanor. My father is one of the most paramount and compelling people in my life due to his love
he shares for others, his influential advice, and the countless similarities we have in common. The love that my father has for others shines like the
first light of day of a bright Arizona sunrise. His loyalty to his friends and family is unparalleled to others. One example of this would be during
the holidays towards his family. He understands that family time is extremely important, which is why he does his best to create memorable
experiences that last a lifetime. Another example of this involves his business clients that he takes such great care of. As a financial advisor and
money manager for other people, he treats everyone of them as if they were his closest and dearest friends. He understands that effort and hard
work put in towards others will pay back in the future. Overtime, a level of trust is built between him and his clients causing them to consistently
ask for influential advice. Lance is one of the most influential people I have ever met. The advice that he has given me in the past has helped me
through many life situations. This specific characteristic has caused him to be a great mentor and life coach to countless people. What makes him
stand out even more is his constant willingness to provide his influential advice to help others. I have even had close friends ask him for advice on
certain topics of business within their college courses. Another example of influential advice that he has given happened within the past few weeks
towards myself. I had gotten cut from my recent ice hockey team and I was debating on whether to continue playing or instead attend college in
December. He was the one that convinced

I like to have fun at home. We have so much fun that we end up to be incredibly loud. Anyway, my dad can't stand us laughing out loud and acting
like savages at all. He would just break us apart to stop our noisy silliness. Sometimes I think my dad is over–protective. I think this way because when

What I truly believe is that his desire toward his children is to appreciate somebody for what they are and not their possessions or status. Just to think
about the idea, it is unimaginable to me. I don't know how people can support each other if they don't enjoy themselves together. The truth is that my
parents married each other due to their love not for anything' else. I don't think my sisters can conclude this from my parents since they're younger than
me. It feels like I am the only one who can comprehend my father's intention. I wish my sisters

The Day My Father Left Us
My story begins when I was in the second grade. Times were good, and I was enjoying my childhood. On a certain Sunday I and my mom attended
church, as we did on other Sunday's. This time though my dad decided not to come with us because he said he was tired. So we were off on our own
doing our regular Sunday activities.
Activities on this day were pretty normal. We attended a nice church service, mingled with friends, helped out around the church, and either went out to
eat or headed home for a nice cooked meal. On this particular day we had went out with a few church family members to a nice restaurant and decided
to go home and relax for the week ahead of us. As we came home we were in for a big surprise.

The letter was read by mom first and later she explained its significance as a whole. The letter itself stated that things were not going as my pops had
planned. He felt that it was better if he left since it would be a better environment for me. From this I understood, my mom and dad used to have
arguments for no reason or something very small. My pops would come in late at night and just start arguing with my mom for something useless.
This often led to tension in the household, and sometimes I felt I was caught in middle. So therefore his excuse for leaving was that of trying to ease
the situation between my mom and dad while still being in my life, when I needed him.
My mom elaborated for me stating that things happen in life that we can not control. At times like this I should not blame myself just keep in mind
that both of my parents love me and are doing something for me to have a better living environment and upbringing. Although it might be difficult to
except this at first it might just be for the better of things in general. After I heard and accepted what my mom had to say, I was ready to hear what
my pops had to say about it in his own words.
From the time my pops left I did not speak to him. I completely abandoned him, just like the way I felt he did to me. He tried to call me, I did not call
him back, he tried to write me, I did not write him back, he even tried to come up and see me one day after school, I

A Speech On My Father
Papi A man that'll shape you into the person you strive to become as a child. Your hero since birth, the man that started with nothing, but worked his
way to the top to give you everything, the man you'll forever call your father. Someone that brought you into this world, every father is different. Some
people hate, love, or don't even know their father. For me luckily I got the opportunity to love my father.
Having a father is honestly a blessing. Some people lose their fathers to either old age, separation of the parents, or other reasons. Without my
father, I wouldn't become the person I am today. I've made plenty of mistakes that I still regret till this day. I feel like I would've disappointed my
father. I look at my dad, and I see the type of man I would want to become as an adult, humble, hardworking, and loving. He has never let my family
down with anything that we have needed like I said previously he started with nothing and made it to the top to give us everything. My parents got
married at a really young age my mom was the age of 17 and my dad 21 he was so in love with her that he knew had found the one he wanted to call
his forever. He then told my mom, "We're going to have to live with my parents." Mymother then refused to move in with his parents. Because she
was in no rush to get married, she wanted my dad to be stable and ready to start a life together. Thus, my dad put in more hours at work, continued his

Narrative Essay About My Father
My father was gone before I was born, and was absent in a crucial period of time in my life. It affected me in the aspect of becoming a man, and the
idea of two people coming together as one. A single mother is one of the hardest situations known to man, and knowing that my father put my mother
through this predicament upsets me to my core. I don't remember much about the stories my family told about my father, but I do know that I
struggled without a father figure. Though my dad ended up in my life, he still left a hole in crucial moments of my childhood. My mom had two
jobs, and went to school full time. She was the hardest working women I have ever seen. Credit goes to my mother for being that example of hard
work, and dedication. With that being said, I remember walking in on my mom helplessly sobbing while holding a couple pieces of paper in her
hand. I realized that they were bills, and we were falling behind somehow. I didn't understand the whole situation, but all I could think of was my
father. If he were here we would have more money, and with the help of another adult it could take a lot of the duties, and stress off my mother. I was
in search for that manly role model to teach me the basics of becoming a gentlemen. Someone to look up too, and find interest in the the things that I
enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, I loved the fact that my mom tried, and succeed for the most part. Their is just somethings that the dad has to go through

My Life With My Father Essay
The One Week That Will Last a Lifetime Isn 't it funny how fast life can seem to pass by? Often we are so caught up in the daily actions of the
world that we miss certain things in the meantime. As if we all have infinite time to do infinite things with the people that we carry dearly in our
hearts every single day. Life as we know however, is not always this beautiful. I found this outthe hard way by losing my father, and falling into a
depression I struggle with everyday. I had a very interesting and in what most cases I consider myself to be a "modern" type of relationship with
my father. My parents had divorced when I was a child, I would go with my mom on weekdays, and my dad on weekends. Most of the time. In the
year 2013 my dad, because of the health of my grandmother was forced to move to Grand Junction. While 16 at the time, I knew that this was
indeed something he needed to do. This only made our time together less frequent than it was already was. I was a very peculiar son however, I
loved my parents there was never any question of that fact. Due to the little time I got to spend with my father however, I always felt as if our
relationship never evolved to the biggest it could be. After graduating high school last year, there was a new sense of commitment in myself however.
I was about to get a car and soon would be able to travel to and from Grand Junction at my own discretion and that couldn't have excited me more.

"A Conversation with My Father", by Grace Paley
The short–story "A Conversation with My Father", by Grace Paley, combines several themes and the author uses the elements of abandonment, denial,
irony, humor and foreshadowing, to bring this emotional story together. This story is mainly about the relationship between a parent and his child. The
primary characters are a father, and his child. There is no mention of whether the child is his daughter or son. The tone of the story and the conversations
made me believe that the old man has a daughter, and hence I will refer to the child as his daughter.
The first sentence of the story, "My father is eighty–six years old and in bed", is the first foreshadowing element. Its full meaning...show more content...
However, we start to see some differences between the father and daughter.
In this new story, the daughter is describing facts, whereas the father wants a more complete description, full of details. Following this, we see
that the daughter prefers to be optimistic, while the father prefers reality. This is illustrated by the following quotes: "No, Pa, it could really
happen that way, it's a funny world nowadays", and to this, the father replies "No... Truth first. She will slide back." Her story describes the life of
a mother and her son, and how she becomes a junkie to remain close to her son, who has become a junkie. In the end, the son quits the drugs world,
but the mother cannot. Her son leaves her, introducing the element of abandonment in the story. This theme is pursued further, but in between lines.
For example, the son left his mother at a critical time, when she needed him most, whereas the narrator stayed with her dad, even in his dying days.
The father does not believe that the woman in his daughter's story is strong enough and that even though she manages to quit doing drugs, she will
fall back. I would tend to agree with him, because a lot of substance abusers, who quit, eventually, fall back. Her story is too optimistic, with a sense
of denial for the tragedy. As the story ends, the father says "Tragedy! You too. When will you look it in the face?" Again, here we wonder whether the
tragedy refers to the

The Father-Son Relationship Essay
ESLEOY – Essay By Toan Nguyen THE FATHER
–SON RELATIONSHIP In family life, there is often a lack of communication between parents and
their children. Although parental love is always present, children often misunderstand or are unaware of their parent's love for them, especially the
father's love. Fathers often try to keep their strong figure as the head of the households and their love is usually implicit. The three short stories,
"Penny in the Dust," by Ernest Buckler, "A Secret Lost in the Water," by Roch Carrier and "Lies My Father Told Me," by Ted Allan all share a similar
theme – relationship between fathers and sons. The father–son relationship portrayed in each of these three stories is awkward and distant which...show

Peter has mixed emotions when he sees the bright, shiny and new penny. He realizes that his father had never forgotten that day; the two of them
sitting together in the sand and expressing their love for each other. Ultimately, this story reveals that love is not always expressed verbally. The
penny is the symbol of love and dream between Peter and his father. In the second story, "A Secret Lost in the Water," written by Roch Carrier,
who is also the protagonist of this short story. He explores the importance of tradition in relation to formal 'schoolbook' knowledge. His father was
an expert in finding fresh water source by using a mere alder branch. His father also tried to pass this skill to his son; however, as the son grows up
and become old, the son forgets the life lesson he was once taught. When he is given an opportunity to remember the talent passed down by his father
in his early childhood, he struggles to perform the secret. As he struggles to hear the gushing water and the branch to writhe, a fellow farmer says,
"Nowadays, fathers can't pass on anything to the next generation." This quote is very powerful, because it directly points to the moral of the story: not
all fathers can pass talents to the sons. In addition, the farmer too experiences this reality, for he has the finest farm in the area, and his children did not
want to inherit the farm which their father spent his whole life

old when I was born, as my parents were married quite late. He would be 61 years old by now. My father was working in a bank, AmBank to be

He was only around 5 feet 3 inches tall. When I was in form 4, I began to grow taller than him. Because of that, I always made fun of him but he
never got angry at me before not even once. You would always find my father with his glasses unless he was reading newspaper. My father looked
like how most typical Chinese men would look like, fair skin, round face, small brown eyes and black curly hair. When it comes to his body, my
father was a bit flabby and plump. He had this small belly fat that most of the men after 40 have due to losses of muscle tissue or muscle mass. He
did not work out much, the only exercise he did was the once a blue moon brisk walking after dinner. I can describe every physical attributes of my
father more comprehensively but it will end up being some of the same attributes of any other man in the

Relationship Between Father And His Son Essay
The relationship between a father and his son is one of the most important things in life. Also, it is not solely filled with love but one that can create
pain and the sense of longing. This relationship assists in making a boy recognize right from wrong. Normally in life, we look up to our father to be
the care taker and to encourage us to make our own decisions on what is right and what is wrong. The relationship between a father and his son can be
articulated as the most significant relationship that a man can has throughout the duration of his life. Through this essay I would like to prove the
importance of father son relationship, and how it is illustrated in the novel "When the emperor was divine". Fathers play an important role in the lives
of their sons. The male model may add to a boy's understanding of manhood, and it may also help to create a power connection in the relationship. The
things every boy needs from his dad is helping learn the importance of father in the healthy development. If a father is nurturing, loving, strong, self–
controlled and honorable, his son will emulate those qualities. However, if this father is emotionally distant, preoccupied, and uninterested, he will also
learn those qualities. The relationship between father and son is based on respect, understanding, trust and concern. It can build a good connection with
the teenagers spending more time together, keeping promise, joking and appreciating their efforts and strengths. Teenagers

Analysis Of Father And Son

  • 1. Analysis Of Father And Son "I am glad that I paid so little attention to good advice; had I abided by it I might have been saved from some of my most valuable mistakes.." Edna St. Vincent. Whether it be good or bad, the advice people give us can sometimes made us feel trapped. Especially when someone we care about believes they know best, like fathers. "Father and Son", a song by Cat Stevens demonstrates the feelings a son has about the advice his Father wants for him and his life. On the other hand, "What Shall He Tell That Son" a poem by Carl Sandburg, focuses on the mind of a father who wants to tell his son everything he can about life, but in the end says nothing. Advice from fathers can shape a child's life, giving a different point–of–view on what they'd like to become and what they might want to avoid becoming. At the end of the day, the majority of parents want the best for their children, regardless if they are taking into account what their kid wants. Both "Father and Son" and "What Shall He Tell That Son" focus mainly on the father's thoughts and feelings, the prior having the addition of the son's perspective as well. However, the moods in these works are drastically different. While one father wants his son to experience the world and all its beauty, the other wants his son to keep a simple life and settle down early. Although the perspective of the son in Sandburg's poem is not shown, Steven's sure has a lot to say. He feels trapped and ignored, as seem in the line "All the times that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay About My Father Oh, how mistaken my Dad was. I remember him looking down at me, my Dad a towering height of 6'6 and I a height of 3'5, telling me that I wasn't reading. I remember looking down and getting sad and angry, that I thought I was reading. When I was younger, I loved to "read". By reading, I mean being read to by my parents every night. One of my parents would lay beside me every night on my twin sized day bed. I would snuggle underneath my quilted blanket that my grandmother made for me, and get ready for an adventure. Our two golden retrievers, George, and Baldwin, would be either on or next to my bed, being content with just being near my parents and me. Every night I would expect a story of adventure. Both of my parents were constantly...show more content... "I can read The Fourteen Bears, Summer and Winter all by myself!" I said, my smile somehow growing larger. My Dad smiled a bit more and laughed, "Mimi, you aren't "reading" the book, you just memorized it." He said laughing. I started to get sad and angry, my smile disappearing, and I started to tear up. My Dad saw my frown and stopped laughing. "Mimi, It's ok if you don't know how to read yet, I know you'll learn," My Dad said with a smile. I didn't return the smile, as I was still angry that he said that. I was reading! I looked at the words and said what they were! I didn't get what he was saying! Over time, something clicked. One night, with my mom sitting next to me, I narrowed my eyes and looked at the words. I looked at them, remembering what my teachers taught me at Montessori, and I put two and two together. I started reading! It was slow and steady. I couldn't read some of the bigger words, but I did it! I was reading! My mom was ecstatic and so was my Dad. From that spark, a great fire ignited. My love of reading grew and I would read almost everyday. At Montessori, as a Kindergartner, I could read better than some of the fourth and fifth graders. I even tried to teach my little brother how to read by setting a pile of books in front of him, and reading and describing the words. My parents loved it, and they went out of their way to get me more and more books. When I entered elementary school, my parents bought me over $100 Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. A Father's Love Essay A Father's Love I lived in the city with my father. Recently, I bought a new house which is light, large and comfortable. But since we lived in the new house, my father always had been tired. He was often sleeping in bed, loudly snoring in the day. The snore that reverberated in the whole new house made me unable to focus on my work and I couldn't sleep well. Because I was a freedom contributor who sometimes worked in the night and sometimes slept in the daytime. Because I wanted to earn the money to live, pay off the debt and buy the new house. I had an occupational disease of neurasthenia, so I needed a quiet situation for resting and working. And also I was afraid that he maybe had some...show more content... It made me so tired. Is it undue that I needed a quiet situation? The next afternoon, I had been asleep until four o'clock. When I woke up I felt the house was so quiet. I didn't hear any snoring, so I went to my father's room, but my father was not in. I thought maybe he went out to meet his friends to play cards with them. I always hoped that he could go out to do something to relieve his weariness. Although I complained with my father, my father could understand me. Everyday my father came back in time and cooked for me. Then he would go out again. One day, I asked my father what did he do and where he wanted to go. My father answered "No, nothing." And then went out. When he came back again, I said, "You should take care of yourself, and eat something nutritious." Because I felt that my father was getting thinner than before. But his skin became whiter. And my father told me that he was healing and strong, he was fine. Although I still worried about him, I didn't say any more words. I thought maybe I was suspicious, but at last I knew that, in fact, I was careless with my father and blamed him wrongly. At the end of the year, I was invited to write a report by my friend's manager. As thanks, the manager invited my friend and me to have a dinner. After dinner, we went to a big bathroom together. • 5. Thanks to My Hardworking Father Essay Jose Quiles Prof. J. Robinson Eng 100–F80 August 06, 2009 Thanks to My Hardworking Father It is very fortunate for a kid to have his father around. In the last thirty years, having both parents in the household was rare. Most of my friends I grew up with only had their mother around. To all the mothers that were strong enough to raise a boy to be a man, I commend you. However, I was very fortunate to have both parents in my household. I would like to thank my father for showing me what a hardworking man truly is, for teaching me how to be responsible, and teaching me why it's better to work hard for my money than take the easy route like selling drugs. My father never tried to spoil me, but there was always a lesson to be learned in everything he did for me. If he gave me something for doing what I was supposed to do, he would tell me that God's reward for me being responsible is even greater. My father continually stressed to me that when you work hard for the money, there is always a greater reward at the end. Finally, I thank my father for teaching me that a real man works hard for his money. My father always said if a person takes the easy route to get money, that person won't appreciate anything. I didn't understand what my father meant by that until I got older. Seeing people sell drugs to get money, I noticed that those people didn't care how the money was spent. I would see those people buying clothes, which were ridiculously expensive; like five or six hundred dollar shirts. These guys had no clue about how to work hard for their money, so they didn't care how fast it was spent. Then I saw a hard working man who cherished every dime he worked for. In the end, what my father was trying to teach me was that there are benefits for those that work hard, and none for those that don't. In conclusion, I thank my father for being there to teach me how to be a hardworking man, the importance of being responsible, and how nothing comes easily. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Role Of A Father 3.0 The Role of a father While both parents are equally important, a father is an instrumental and key figure in the modern family. This is because he is the head of family and more often than not, the chief bread winner in most cases.Other tasks and roles performed by a father are unique and defined basing on the cultural background of the community that he comes from. However, from culture to culture, the fundamental tasks that are required of manhood are basically the same, some of which we are going to look briefly in this paper. A father should always be there for his wife and children to provide the much needed love and support. Showering them with lots of cash does not necessarily indicate love and support. He should be ready to give them an ear, comfort them and spend quality time as well as quantity time with them. This is crucial in creating an emotional tie, a prerequisite for strong and healthy family relationship. The father therefore plays the role of loving and supporting his spouse and offspring. Camon extensively explored the effects of not having a fathers love and support on a child's development (121) The father offers protection and guards the family. Guarding and protecting does not necessarily mean directly confronting and beating up anyone who threatens the family. It simply means that as a father and head of the family, you are reliable and can be counted on by your family when it matters most. It means you that you Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay on Fathers of the Military In the military they prepare their men to be the best they can be for the obstacles they might face when being deployed, or any other orders they might receive. But no one prepared them for being separated from their loved ones. Almost half the men who are deployed and serving our country are married and a little less than half are married and half children (insert citation–demographics chart). So what does it mean for these men? Does it make them a bad parent because they are deployed, or does it just mean they don't get to be involved in their child's life in the typical fashion such as seeing them every day, asking them how their day was, missing holidays and birthdays and the big moments in their children's lives and so on. The fourth stage is deployment is what's called the separation phase. _____________________. Now that the deployment has happened, it means a new way of life for the family back at home, especially when it comes to parenting. There's parenting from the home front as well as parenting from the war zone, each holding different types of challenges for both parents, but the focus here is the fathers at war and yet still manage to parent from home. It's still unknown about how deployed fathers react when away from home due to not security issues but as well as communication isn't always available depending on the location. Most fathers stated that if their partner back at home wasn't cooperative and willing to help co–parent from a far, that it was very difficult and the already difficult task of focusing was made harder, which increased stress and anxiety in the field. As well as co–parenting, deployed soldiers have to rely on others to be able to communicate to their children back home, especially if the child is younger and can't communicate on their own; it can create more of a space between the father and child. • 8. Essay on The Impact of Absent Fathers Absent Fathers Rough Draft For various reasons, many children in the United States are living without their fathers in their homes or absent from their lives entirely. This is an issue all across the world and the children are having to deal with the disadvantages caused by the lack of support from their fathers. This issue has a significant effect on society and can be viewed and interpreted from the three sociological perspectives. As a result of many studies, it was found that children raised in father absent homes almost universally experience disadvantages such as: worse health, poorer academic achievement, and a less enjoyable educational experience. There are many variables that need to be taken into effect when considering...show more content... 63 percent of households with an income of $25,000 or less are fatherless, and only 18 percent of households with an income of $75,000 or higher. Almost identical statistics apply to less than high school credentials versus a bachelor's or graduate education. 62% of parents that have less than a high school education are raising children without their father, and only 22% of parents with a bachelor's degree and 18% of parents with a graduate degree are living in the same situation (DeBell 2008.) A correlation can be drawn here between education/income and percentage of fatherless households. Generally speaking, as education increases, so will income. As income increases, the percentage of fatherless children and households decreases. However, it could be argued that the income of the household will decrease when the father is gone and not contributing to the finances. Though children without their fathers may not always be disadvantaged by his absence, statistics clearly show that as a whole, children in America are not benefitted by the lack of a father. The same study conducted in 2003 showed that academic achievement is largely affected by fatherlessness. Seven percent of children living with their father have ever repeated a grade in school, that number raises to sixteen percent in children without their father. 49 percent of children Get more content on HelpWriting.net

He not only is my biologic father, but also my inspiration in my life. He constantly inspires me to put efforts in my impossible dreams. In return, I want to prove him myself and how capable I can be. With his personality, his role, and his unquestionable generosity, my father is a man who influences me the most. My father is a man of respect. I admire him as his first and oldest daughter. No matter how mad or silly my sisters and I would get, he would be the peacemaker in the family. Let's say that my sisters and I like to have fun at home. We have so much fun that we end up to be incredibly loud. Anyway, my dad can't stand us laughing out loud and acting like savages at all. He would just break us apart to stop our noisy silliness. Sometimes I think my dad is over–protective. I think this way because when my grand–father died. He couldn't tell me straight in the face. He didn't know how I would react with the bad news. So, my mother told me the horrible news. Maybe he didn't want to tell me since he would admit that my grand–pa died. What I truly believe is that his desire toward his children is to appreciate somebody for what they are and not their possessions or status. Just to think about the idea, it is unimaginable to me. I don't know how people can support each other if they don't enjoy themselves together. The truth is that my parents married each other due to their love not for anything' else. I don't think my sisters can conclude this from my parents since they're younger than me. It feels like I am the only one who can comprehend my father's intention. • 11. Personal Narrative The Day My Father Left Us My story begins when I was in the second grade. Times were good, and I was enjoying my childhood. On a certain Sunday I and my mom attended church, as we did on other Sunday's. This time though my dad decided not to come with us because he said he was tired. So we were off on our own doing our regular Sunday activities. Activities on this day were pretty normal. We attended a nice church service, mingled with friends, helped out around the church, and either went out to eat or headed home for a nice cooked meal. On this particular day we had went out with a few church family members to a nice restaurant and decided to go home and relax for the week ahead of us. As we came home we were in for a big surprise. As...show more content... The letter was read by mom first and later she explained its significance as a whole. The letter itself stated that things were not going as my pops had planned. He felt that it was better if he left since it would be a better environment for me. From this I understood, my mom and dad used to have arguments for no reason or something very small. My pops would come in late at night and just start arguing with my mom for something useless. This often led to tension in the household, and sometimes I felt I was caught in middle. So therefore his excuse for leaving was that of trying to ease the situation between my mom and dad while still being in my life, when I needed him. My mom elaborated for me stating that things happen in life that we can not control. At times like this I should not blame myself just keep in mind that both of my parents love me and are doing something for me to have a better living environment and upbringing. Although it might be difficult to except this at first it might just be for the better of things in general. After I heard and accepted what my mom had to say, I was ready to hear what my pops had to say about it in his own words. From the time my pops left I did not speak to him. I completely abandoned him, just like the way I felt he did to me. He tried to call me, I did not call him back, he tried to write me, I did not write him back, he even tried to come up and see me one day after school, I

  • 14. Narrative Essay About My Father My father was gone before I was born, and was absent in a crucial period of time in my life. It affected me in the aspect of becoming a man, and the idea of two people coming together as one. A single mother is one of the hardest situations known to man, and knowing that my father put my mother through this predicament upsets me to my core. I don't remember much about the stories my family told about my father, but I do know that I struggled without a father figure. Though my dad ended up in my life, he still left a hole in crucial moments of my childhood. My mom had two jobs, and went to school full time. She was the hardest working women I have ever seen. Credit goes to my mother for being that example of hard work, and dedication. With that being said, I remember walking in on my mom helplessly sobbing while holding a couple pieces of paper in her hand. I realized that they were bills, and we were falling behind somehow. I didn't understand the whole situation, but all I could think of was my father. If he were here we would have more money, and with the help of another adult it could take a lot of the duties, and stress off my mother. I was in search for that manly role model to teach me the basics of becoming a gentlemen. Someone to look up too, and find interest in the the things that I enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, I loved the fact that my mom tried, and succeed for the most part. Proudly, he finished high school at the age of sixteen, but could not follow the footsteps of his older brothers and join the military, because he was too young. • 16. My Life With My Father Essay The One Week That Will Last a Lifetime Isn 't it funny how fast life can seem to pass by? Often we are so caught up in the daily actions of the world that we miss certain things in the meantime. As if we all have infinite time to do infinite things with the people that we carry dearly in our hearts every single day. Life as we know however, is not always this beautiful. I found this outthe hard way by losing my father, and falling into a depression I struggle with everyday. I had a very interesting and in what most cases I consider myself to be a "modern" type of relationship with my father. My parents had divorced when I was a child, I would go with my mom on weekdays, and my dad on weekends. Most of the time. In the year 2013 my dad, because of the health of my grandmother was forced to move to Grand Junction. While 16 at the time, I knew that this was indeed something he needed to do. This only made our time together less frequent than it was already was. I was a very peculiar son however, I loved my parents there was never any question of that fact. Due to the little time I got to spend with my father however, I always felt as if our relationship never evolved to the biggest it could be. After graduating high school last year, there was a new sense of commitment in myself however. I was about to get a car and soon would be able to travel to and from Grand Junction at my own discretion and that couldn't have excited me more. • 17. "A Conversation with My Father", by Grace Paley The short–story "A Conversation with My Father", by Grace Paley, combines several themes and the author uses the elements of abandonment, denial, irony, humor and foreshadowing, to bring this emotional story together. This story is mainly about the relationship between a parent and his child. The primary characters are a father, and his child. There is no mention of whether the child is his daughter or son. The tone of the story and the conversations made me believe that the old man has a daughter, and hence I will refer to the child as his daughter. The first sentence of the story, "My father is eighty–six years old and in bed", is the first foreshadowing element. Its full meaning...show more content... However, we start to see some differences between the father and daughter. In this new story, the daughter is describing facts, whereas the father wants a more complete description, full of details. Following this, we see that the daughter prefers to be optimistic, while the father prefers reality. This is illustrated by the following quotes: "No, Pa, it could really happen that way, it's a funny world nowadays", and to this, the father replies "No... Truth first. She will slide back." Her story describes the life of a mother and her son, and how she becomes a junkie to remain close to her son, who has become a junkie. In the end, the son quits the drugs world, but the mother cannot. Her son leaves her, introducing the element of abandonment in the story. This theme is pursued further, but in between lines. For example, the son left his mother at a critical time, when she needed him most, whereas the narrator stayed with her dad, even in his dying days. The father does not believe that the woman in his daughter's story is strong enough and that even though she manages to quit doing drugs, she will fall back. I would tend to agree with him, because a lot of substance abusers, who quit, eventually, fall back. Her story is too optimistic, with a sense of denial for the tragedy. As the story ends, the father says "Tragedy! You too. When will you look it in the face?" Again, here we wonder whether the tragedy refers to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. The Father-Son Relationship Essay ESLEOY – Essay By Toan Nguyen THE FATHER –SON RELATIONSHIP In family life, there is often a lack of communication between parents and their children. Although parental love is always present, children often misunderstand or are unaware of their parent's love for them, especially the father's love. Fathers often try to keep their strong figure as the head of the households and their love is usually implicit. The three short stories, "Penny in the Dust," by Ernest Buckler, "A Secret Lost in the Water," by Roch Carrier and "Lies My Father Told Me," by Ted Allan all share a similar theme – relationship between fathers and sons. The father–son relationship portrayed in each of these three stories is awkward and distant which...show more content... Peter has mixed emotions when he sees the bright, shiny and new penny. He realizes that his father had never forgotten that day; the two of them sitting together in the sand and expressing their love for each other. Ultimately, this story reveals that love is not always expressed verbally. The penny is the symbol of love and dream between Peter and his father. In the second story, "A Secret Lost in the Water," written by Roch Carrier, who is also the protagonist of this short story. He explores the importance of tradition in relation to formal 'schoolbook' knowledge. His father was an expert in finding fresh water source by using a mere alder branch. His father also tried to pass this skill to his son; however, as the son grows up and become old, the son forgets the life lesson he was once taught. When he is given an opportunity to remember the talent passed down by his father in his early childhood, he struggles to perform the secret. As he struggles to hear the gushing water and the branch to writhe, a fellow farmer says, "Nowadays, fathers can't pass on anything to the next generation." This quote is very powerful, because it directly points to the moral of the story: not all fathers can pass talents to the sons. In addition, the farmer too experiences this reality, for he has the finest farm in the area, and his children did not want to inherit the farm which their father spent his whole life Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Also, it is not solely filled with love but one that can create pain and the sense of longing. This relationship assists in making a boy recognize right from wrong. Normally in life, we look up to our father to be the care taker and to encourage us to make our own decisions on what is right and what is wrong. The relationship between a father and his son can be articulated as the most significant relationship that a man can has throughout the duration of his life. Through this essay I would like to prove the importance of father son relationship, and how it is illustrated in the novel "When the emperor was divine". Fathers play an important role in the lives of their sons. The male model may add to a boy's understanding of manhood, and it may also help to create a power connection in the relationship. The things every boy needs from his dad is helping learn the importance of father in the healthy development. If a father is nurturing, loving, strong, self– controlled and honorable, his son will emulate those qualities. However, if this father is emotionally distant, preoccupied, and uninterested, he will also learn those qualities. The relationship between father and son is based on respect, understanding, trust and concern. It can build a good connection with the teenagers spending more time together, keeping promise, joking and appreciating their efforts and strengths. Teenagers Get more content on HelpWriting.net
