As Director of the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC), I’ve had the pleasure of working
closely with Heather the past few years on a number of different fund-raisers throughout Southern NV. I believe
that I am qualified to comment on the quality of Heather’s work and her professionalism.
Heather interned for our charitable organization in 2011 and then continued to volunteer for an additional six
months even after earning her college degree from UNLV. I commend her for wanting to master her special event
skills before going into the job market.
I noticed on day one that Heather is a highly organized worker and very thorough. She impressed me with how
quickly and accurately she could complete a project and begin another. Heather put her creativity to work for
SCC by producing professional event brochures, fliers and power point presentations for our NASCAR Auction,
golf & bowling tournaments and more.
She brought a tremendous amount of energy and humor into my office every day and was a great resource to my
Board of Directors and other SCC volunteers. Heather is a great manager and understands the importance of
recruiting and training dedicated volunteers and staff as well as working as an individual and in a team. This is an
important skill to have in any professional whether corporate or the non-profit sector.
In summary, Heather Mayers is a highly motivated and knowledgeable professional who would be an asset to
your team. She will utilize her education, training and skills in a most productive way.
