- Show live slide embedding between PowerPoint and Word.
- Show a page or pages, with PowerPoint presentations embedded using OneDrive. Also show a simple embedded PowerPoint active diagram. Good time to present and talk about PFI tutorials.
- Highlight how in 20 years, e-learning is basically the same. Tool-centric approach, monolithic development, black-boxed results.
- Mention learning objects, minimal content unit, reusability, separation of content and format, emphasize content form as repository.
- Focus on different types of media. Text as important and cost effective media. Video, animations, but also powerpoint or slideshows. Interactivities, get creative on types.
- Review tools. Flat and simple powerpoint, animations, video, storyline, hype, thinglink.
- For this demo just show content forms, xml files, and samples of standalone interactivities. Emphasize how this are just parts of a whole.
- The traditional, product-centric view, revolves around what an authoring tool can do. Even if we use auxiliary media and programs to create additional assets, everything is put together using a authoring tool that creates the final module with a “click to publish” approach. Putting technologies at the center changes our perspective. It gives us the control back, to put together the pieces anyway we need to.
- Let’s embrace the web. Basically, the only difference is that our e-learning modules are private and most web content is not. Everything else is the same.
