2. My initial thoughts regarding the set brief was very nervous. It is a very
challenging task to create a short film. You have to create a idea which
for me will be tricky as I seem to come up with unrealistic ideas which I
cant complete in the short time which we have. I think I am rather good
at creating my own audio as I have found out in the past two days. I
am rather rubbish at filming as I am used to using a Nikon camera
instead of a canon, so it is very unfamiliar to me. With the editing
aspect of the project, I have limited understanding of the software
which we use, so maybe this project could give me some experience
with the software.

There is a girl whom is upset and on the
phone. You cant hear what is being said and
there is annoying high pitch noise. All of a
sudden you can hear her speaking- “Time is
running out”. Then the it cuts to a black
screen with a very high pitch noise.

5. Is there any repetition in the images you have
collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
For all the images which I have collected for this mood board, I have
noticed that they all have a rather depressing tone this is what I aimed for
as this initial idea has a very serious back story to it. I have included a
screenshot of a already made short film called ‘Silent’, when I make my
work I would like it to have the same font and background as this.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board will have a significant impact of my final product, as if I
choose to do this idea I will add the mood and tone into my work which I
have found doing this mood board.
6. MIND MAP
Based on the true story lovely bones, a girl (A) is running in a
forest being chased by someone (B) , you never see the face
of this person but you see their figure chasing the main
character. Character B is starting to catch up when the screen
goes black. All the consumer would hear is a high pitch noise
which makes them very uncomfortable.
The phrase “time is running out” could be playing in the
background on a loop, every time it is played it gets louder
and louder with the music.

you don’t see B’s face.
8. Is there any repetition in the images you have
collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
This mood board has a similar tone to each photo which I have collected.
My mood board consists of various chasing photos and a location of a
forest. This is virtually inspiring as I have based my location and whole
idea on a chase scene in a forest. These photos all have the same colour
theme and all have low key lighting.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
If I choose this idea I will take inspiration from my mood board. As you can
see from my mood board, the lighting is very low key and the mood of the
pictures are very eerie. This would go really well with my storyline and I
would definitely keep this in mind for when I choose the idea.
9. MIND MAP
The initial idea is a mini romance short film. A girl is
walking back home from work after a long day shift,
she has had to deal with customers who have treated
her like rubbish, she's not in the mood to talk to
anyone. There is a guy behind her who realizes that
she's upset and moody and wants to make sure she's
okay. She drops her phone and doesn't’t notice as
she’s in a rush to get a home, he picks it up and saves
his number in it. The romance starts from there. Turns
out she is a Psycho.

in my own time.

The audio would be very
minimalistic for this short film.
There will be Ambience sound
effects of the outside as that’s
where its set.

very rude. There are 2
other characters, the
girl and the boy.
11. Is there any repetition in the images you have
collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
Compared to the mood boards which I have created, this mood board
is different from the rest. All the other mood boards have very cool and
low key lighting. Where as this mood board, is filled with warm colours
and high key lighting.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
This mood board is very different to all my other ideas, If I do choose this
idea I would use this mood board to influence the way I shoot and light my
short film.
12. TECHNIQUES- When getting ready to film my short film, I would
want to add as much research I could so my short film could be the
best it could be. This means that I would research tips for filming,
tips for creating my own Foley sound effects and tips for editing.
LOCATION- When I’ve thought about the location of my short film, I
decided to film it at college. This is purely because of the it would
be easier to film then to get my cast to take a day off work and
meet up somewhere else. Also, it is more convenient to use the
cameras.
RESOURCES- Resources such a the cameras, tripods and
Tascam which I will book out nearer the time will play a massive
part in my short film. Mainly because this is what I will use to film
and record on. I want to create a gun noise for the blackout at the
end, something which would be very useful for this would be
Heavy-duty staple guns. I would record this noise with the Tascam
