Dodie article
1. “I genuinely think I’m going mad, and I don’t
think I’m going to see things normally again”
Unless you’ve been living under a
rock for the past few years or
aren’t an avid YouTube viewer then
you’ve probably heard of Dodie Clark
(aka Doddleoddle on YouTube). For those
who don’t know Dodie is a ukulele play-
ing, beautifully singing, literal ray of sun-
shine. In recent months, however, Dodie
has been affected by a bout of depres-
sion. Dodie, who has been a constant
source of positivity towards others, has
taken to YouTube to communicate her
feelings to her fans. Despite, her internal
struggle, she is continually loyal to her
fans and believes that she should keep a
level of communication between herself
and her viewers.
H owever, through all the hard times
she’s faced recently she still con-
tinues to make beautiful music with her
trusty uke. From original songs to covers
that we love, there’s always a steady
stream of songs sung with Dodie’s angelic
voice available on her YouTube channel.
And there’s always a stream of chatty
vlogs on her second channel
(Doddlevloggle).
It’s very hard not to feel sorry for
Dodie when she says things like “I
genuinely think I’m going mad, and I
don’t think I’m going to see things nor-
mally again.” or when she wells up talk-
ing about her depression, anxiety and de-
personalisation.
