3. WHAT RESUMES ARE:
Your professional blueprint.
An opportunity for you to share what the company needs to know.
A list of relevant skills, experiences, and achievements.
Key Point: Your resume needs to align with desired roles. If something on your
resume is not related to the role you’re applying for, reconsider including it.
4. WHAT RESUMES ARE NOT
The resumes are not your professional story.
The resumes are not an opportunity for you to share what you want.
The resumes are not an exhaustive list of your skills, experiences, and
achievements.

9. WHY DO WE USE RESUMES?
A resume’s purpose is to get you an interview.
Resumes are a requirement across companies.
Resumes tell a company why they should invest in you.
10. An impressive (and relevant) resume tells a potential employer that you have what they need.
In order to develop the ideal resume, a candidate must learn more about the desired role by
THOUGHTFULLY reading the job description and doing research on the organization.
HOW CAN RESUMES HELP
SECURE AN INTERVIEW?
11. WHY ARE RESUMES REQUIRED?
With the growth in workforce across the world, it can be time-consuming to conduct
countless interviews in pursuit of a new hire. Resumes contribute to making the process
more efficient and serve as a tool to assess a candidate’s ability to market themselves
accordingly.
12. When developed thoroughly, resumes reflect your ability to meet the company’s needs by performing
specific tasks. If a hiring manager can clearly understand your work history and immediately see the
compatibility and alignment with their open position and organizational culture, the resume sends the
“signal” that the candidate meets and or exceeds the core requirements.
HOW DO RESUMES SHOW THAT YOU ARE
A GOOD INVESTMENT?
