Statement of Work to Patton College of Education
Dated February 5, 2015
Provided by Hannah Haseman LLC
[Version 1.0]
Executive Summary
The primary intention of this effort is to provide the Patton College of Education with an
accessible, redesigned webpage that will bring more visitors to the site and adhere to the Ohio
University brand, “the promise lives.” In doing so, the Patton College of Education will have a
concrete basis for future development. The estimated finish date for this project is March 1,
2015. This work will be performed by Hannah Haseman on behalf of the Patton College of
Education.
Deliverables
Design Layout Content
Logo: We will provide a new
design that will incorporate
the primary Ohio University
brand logo on a white
background.
Header: The new layout will
include a standard-depth page
header containing the
University’s navigational
tools and The Patton
College’s subhead.
Photos: There will be one
photo per slide in the
dominant photo feature. The
photos will highlight students
engaging with their
surroundings, the Patton
College building, and the
hallmark OHIO bricks.
Color: The Ohio University
selected colors of green and
gray will be used throughout
the page as the primary colors
to make the page consistent
with the established Ohio
University brand colors.
Links: Links to additional
sources (home, about,
academic programs, etc.)
should be further up on the
page for easier access.
Provide quick links for easier
navigation off to the side.
Patton College summary:
Provide a more detailed
overview of the college.
Include evidence through
statistics about how the
college is an important to the
university as a whole and
how it has made an impact.
Typography: Galliard is the
primary Ohio University
brand font.
Length: Use both horizontal
and vertical layout to fill
blank space and make the
page less cluttered.
Clutter: To help organize
content, include a calendar
and running module of news
related to the college.
Remove the three picture
links in the middle of the
page. They are bulky and
distracting.

Tone Considerations
The Patton College of Education’s voice should reflect the Ohio University brand: “Ohio
University enriches the world by helping students fulfill their promise.” The promise has to
convey energy and to be omnipresent while still being natural and organic. Key words to
consider when defining your tone include: accessible, authentic, creative, diverse, enriching,
global, innovative, student-centered, and historic. A sample piece of copy could include: “The
promise lives in the Patton College of Education, which provides students with enriching,
professional experience to be leaders in their field.”
Technical Considerations
Color editing, header and general layout will be done through InDesign. Photos will be provided
as JPEGs and edited though Photoshop. Any additional writing will be written in Microsoft
Word and converted to HTML.
Other
• The Ohio University logo and font are rights-controlled and it is the client’s
responsibility to receive licensure from University Communications and Marketing. Do
this by February 12 to keep on schedule.
• Take photos and have model forms filled out by February 15 to leave two weeks for
content, design and layout changes.
• There will be three rounds of revisions to be documented here.
