Mentor’s comments:
Hamden’s internship experience was unique. His first week he was assigned to a random
crew and sent to the field not knowing what to do or what to expect. The supervisor on the
job pushed him to do all of the physical work, not fully understanding his motivation to
learn what he was doing. The next day I was asked to pick him up and take him back.
Instead, I took him to different job sites with me. Over the next several weeks, it was easy
to see Hamden’s knowledge grow, as he is a quick learner. He was able to find people
willing to show him new things, and continue to learn about the industry to help direct his
career. I think most people would have been extremely discouraged or bitter about a first
week like his, but he was able to smile, adapt, and find a way to maximize his brief
introduction into oilfield services. This quality is extremely important in our future
employees.
Manager’s comments:
Hamdan fit in quite well with our crews. While at the shop, he always stayed busy and
helped the guys with any activity that was going on. He has a positive attitude good work
ethic. His project may give us some new ideas to discuss with our clients about water
contamination.
Intern’s response to appraisal:
Regardless of my first week, I would say that I really enjoyed working with Coil Tubing
Services in Angleton,TX. Everything was smooth and well organized under Danny’s
administration. My mentor and some other people were so helpful in teaching me what I
am going through. This experience benefited me a lot for my future career
