2. My favorite toy when I was little was my stuffed
bear my mom made me when I was about 3 years
old. His name was Mr. Ugly because my sister drew
all over his face with sharpies and it looked horrible.
But I still loved him. I think he benefited me in
emotional skills. He was my best friend, I talked to
him about everything. I also think he helped me in
intellectual skills. I was always doing something
creative with him. You wouldn’t believe half of the
stuff I came up with when I had Mr. Ugly.
3. When I was little, I loved playing outside.
There was a privacy fence in my backyard, which is where I played
the most.
I could go right out my back door to play in the yard.
There were no furnishings and no carpet.
My other favorite place to play was on my roof.
There were not well-defined boundaries.
It was very easy to reach from my house, I could go right out my
window.
There were not child- sized furnishings or carpet.
I would never let my child play on the roof.
4. One benefit of active play for children is that it keeps them in
shape.
Another benefit of active play is it keeps them healthy.
One activity I liked to do when I was little was go for walks
with my mom. We went on a walk every single day.
Another activity I enjoyed doing was playing softball.
I also liked to play basketball in my backyard.
5. Two benefits of quiet play are that it
involves primarily thinking and small
motor skills.
When I was little I loved to play with
legos with my step dad.
I also liked to build 3-D puzzles.
6. Dramatic play helps with emotional development in children.
It also teaches them empathy by taking someone else’s point
of view, and can help kids discover their talents.
When I was little I like to play cops and robbers, I was
always the cop and my mom was the robber. I also liked to
build a fort in my living room with blankets and chairs and
pretend I was a traveler camping in the mountains. Another
thing I liked to do when I was little was go over to my
grandparent’s house and play cowboys and Indians with my
grandpa. He was always the cowboy.
