WSP were commissioned through the framework by Oxfordshire County Council to develop a vision and strategy to push Oxford towards being recognised as a world-class cycling city. They teamed up with SUSTRANS
The cycle strategy contributed to Oxford’s growth agenda; helping to sustainably facilitate an 11% increase in population and 14,000 more jobs in the City.
The strategy was aspirational, yet practically deliverable.

The first phase, Bridport House, incorporates a cross laminated timber frame structure that avoids intrusive columns, reduces construction time and provides large reductions in the building’s embodied energy
Peter Brett applied their integrated approach to design homeshell structures that provide high-quality energy efficient dwellings working with Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and
SIG Insushell.
Manufactured off site and assembled quickly, they bridge the gap between design and operational performance.
In 2011 the Gov announced that it intended to accelerate the release of public sector land
DCLG identified £33m from HCA receipts
HCA identified sites that would benefit from investment.
Parsons Brinckerhoff led the production of a development brief and the submission of an outline planning application in an environmentally sensitive location.
Dev brief developed with Waverly Council and HCA and adopted as supplementary planning guidance
HCA completed procurement of a developer.
Parsons Brinkerhoff novated to developer to complete detailed design of infrastrucutre.
