A year and a half ago our sponsors with the 75th ranger regiment discovered a problem which was compromising the lives of our service members overseas.

At the beginning of the semester, we had an assignment where we paired up with another student in the class, and were tasked to create the “ideal wallet,” based on the other student’s personal needs and desires. From this assignment, we learned that there is much interpretation from what a client says he/she wants. The Deep Clearance Team and I essentially gave our sponsors the “wallet,” or the perfect solution.

We plan on taking this project further, and creating a company is definitely something we plan to do
We want to save the lives of those that have risked theirs, one autonomous drone at a time

SO WHAT? WHY DO WE CARE? HOW DOES THIS AFFECT US?

Despite our many ups and downs throughout the course of the semester, our team has always stuck together. We all came into this class with both similar and different motives, but we remained strong throughout. For me, this class allowed me to find my vocation in medicine, with the concept of saving lives in my future. The same goes for Josh, through his future of Nursing. For Michael and Marshall, this experience allowed them to see that they each can serve our country through the powers of innovation and technology. For Casey, she was able to put her creative mindset to action, as well as her business leadership.

The team and I would like to thank our sponsors, other members from the 75th Ranger Regiment, the members of AWG during our trip at Fort A.P. Hill, JMU faculty for advising us throughout the semester, and JMU X-Labs for allowing each of our minds to come together to solve The Deep Clearance Problem. Thank you!
