detection of breast cancer, typically through
detection of characteristic masses or
microcalcifications.

7.  The ACR and MQSA have endorsed a QC
programme of specific duties required of the
radiologist, the medical officer and the
mammographer.

8.  QC deals with instruments and equipments.
 QA deals with people.

9.  The ultimate responsibility
Responsible for-
 Selecting qualified medical physicists and
mammographer and overseeing the activities
of the team regularly.
 Supervisionfor patient communication and
tracking i.e, quality patient care.

10.  The radiologist’s principal responsibility is
supervision of the entire QA programme.

11.  ROLES
 QC evaluation of the physical equipments
used to produce an image.
 To understand and apply how the different
technical aspects of the imaging chain
affects the resulting image.

12.  To adivise the mammographer.
 Review charts and records to ensure that
they are prepared properly and contains
necessary informations.

13.  Principal responsibility is to conduct an
annual performance evaluation of the
imaging system.

14.  Responsible for day to day QC
 Responsible for producing and monitoring all
control charts and logs for any trend that
might indicate problems.
