I have observed with admiration the professional endeavors and achievements of Blanche
Williams. Several years ago,I had the pleasure of being invited to be interviewed by
Blanche on her national XM Satellite Radio talk show - Greatness By Design. Her
curiosity and the manner in which she provocatively and broadly framed issues,
eventually led to monthly conversations on current affair and issues important to women.
Her creativity and dedication to excellence deserves the accolades she has accumulated
throughout her career.
As a longtime advocate for women's equality, it has been a pleasure to work with a
young leader who is passionate about women's advancement.
Her recognition of the power of broad based media to raise consciousness and to
influence ideas, was consistent with the mission of the Center for the Advancement of
Women.
Through the initiation of the Black Women's Town Hall, Blanche rolled up her sleeves
and through her leadership made things happen at a grass root organizing level. The
forum has spawned a potentially powerful channel to reach out to organizations and
individuals, with a spirit of genuine concern for civic engagement of African American
women.
I applaud her principled efforts, integrity and sense of purpose. Without reservation I
recommend Blanche Williams for collaborations or educational endeavors which she may
pursue. I am confident that she will continue to bring value to every undertaking for a
better future for women, girls, communities and, ultimately,our nation.
