2. Configuring Blogs
The space owner has more options on the blog.
First we will look at the configuration cog
The configuration option gives the screen below
With the setup and current tabs
highlighted you can set how
you want the blog to display
and whether or not you want to
enable ratings, comments and
comment ratings
3. Archiving Setups
You can save different types of setup for your Blog.
This is done using the archive tab.
1. First create your setup in the setup tab
2. Then go to the archived tab
3. Give the setup a name and save the setup
4. The setup will be listed in your archive of setups
5. To select a particular setup go to the actions button and click restore
6. The selected setup will then be applied to your blog
4. Whole Blog Permissions
You can hide your blog from members of your space.
In the configuration screen click the Permissions tab.
Un-tick the community member view option and click submit.
5. Blog Entry Permissions
You can hide a particular blog entry from your members
Each Blog entry has its own set of permissions.
To hide a particular entry click on these permissions
6. Allow members to Add a Blog Entry
Normally only the owner can add a blog entry
you can change this via the Permissions button
7. The Scope of a Blog
When you add a blog application to a page
it is named after the page you put it on.
This is called the “Scope” of the blog.
If you have a lot of different blogs on different pages in a space each one will have its own
name based on the page you first put it on ( This name is its scope)
You can show a blog that was originally put on one page on another page or both pages
1. First put in a new blog application on the new page
2. The new blog will be scoped to the new page
3. Go to the scope tab in the configuration screen for your new blog
4. From the drop down list select the existing blog to display on the new page
Note: Wikis, Message Boards, and Reference Libraries also get scoped to a particular
page. Scoping is how the Ultranet labels the same application used in the one space
so that they can be identified as different instances of that application
8. Export a Blog
You can Export a Blog and all of its data (Entries,
comments etc) from one space to another
A .lar file is a special file that is only used in the Ultranet for the export and import of
applications ( Wiki’s, Blogs, etc ) and complete spaces.
9. Export a Blog part 2
There a two places that you can save your exported .lar file to
Clicking the Export button Clicking the Export App to My Content
prompts you to save the .lar button will save the .lar file to your personal
file to a location on your own Ultranet content.

10. Import a Blog
1. Add a new blog application
to a page To Import a Blog
2. Go to the configuration cog
and select Export/Import
3. Select the Import Tab
4. Either Browse to your
computer or select the .lar
file from your personal
content
5. Select the Data you want
6. Click import
11. Look and Feel
The LOOK and FEEL screen is the same for all applications.
It is used to change the appearance of the application.
