I did a little research about my future plans after I graduate from Clemson!

2. When I started college, I thought that I wanted
to be an athletic trainer. I went through the
Sports Medicine program at my high school and
loved it. However, I chose Clemson over schools
that have accredited AT programs such as
South Carolina, Winthrop, and College of
Charleston because of Clemson’s atmosphere. I
applied and was accepted into the college of
HEHD for Health Science. I was originally Pre-
Professional Health Studies, but I knew that I
did not want to go to medical school, so I
switched to the Health Promotion and
Education.

 Minor: Psychology (will be added at the end
of this semester)

4. I used my senior status this semester to register for
graduate level classes and begin a graduate degree
in Youth Development Leadership. I met the dean of
the program, Dr. William Quinn, and he helped me
to get the necessary overrides. The program is
designed for two years including four summer
classes, so I will complete it Fall of 2017. I will be
taking the GRE at the end of this spring semester. I
will be meeting with the graduate admissions office
sometime this week to determine when I need to
complete the application process.

small staff as of now. The growth potential

 Almost every job I’ve had since I was sixteen
has involved working with and leading youth.
 I am part of a creative inquiry research team
here at Clemson. I have been on the research
team for a year now and our preliminary
research paper is in the final stages of being
published in Health Behavior and Policy
Review, so I have experience in health
research

compromising with my co-workers.

16. Throughout my time at college, my career plans
have changed like the seasons, but one thing
has stayed constant: I want to work with
children and help them have a healthy lifestyle.
I learned about the YDL masters during my
sophomore year and I knew it was something of
which I wanted to be a part. Once I started
volunteering with ClemsonLIFE, I realized that I
have a passion for working with special needs
youth as well. So, ideally, I want a career
working to promote healthy positive lifestyles in
special needs youth.
